“Cheap not so cheerful”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

I knew the hotel was in the cheaper part of Rome so expectations weren't high. All I wanted was a clean hotel, decent breakfast and place to get a good night sleep .....

Hotel was clean, central for station and sightseeing. Majority of staff that I met were polite but the male receptionist usually on duty in the morning was so grumpy, never a smile - customer service training might be helpful or he could consider a change of job!

The beds were terrible, no good nights sleep just a bad back guaranteed. Breakfast really depended on luck, I assume that if you got to the dinning room early ie when it opened you might have got more than a bad cup of coffee and cereal.

I visited with a friend on 17th April for 3 nights, as soon as I booked on line, I called hotel and asked for a room on 5th floor, this trip to Rome was my 3rd but I was celebrating something special on 19th. On arrival, I was informed there was no room available on 5th floor, the room we were allocated had very hard beds, I asked for a "comforter" to put under my sheet, and was given a new sheet, which was removed the following day. Pillows were old. Breakfast selection depended on how early you went to dining room, my friend left her scrambled eggs as they were cold, she said the coffee was tasteless. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful but appears to have a resident Mr. Grumpy on reception and not made to feel welcome, BUT it is very near train station so it is convenient if you are out a lot!

thanks for your judgment that allows us to finally understand how many actually rated "negative" are false and curiously are posted after some very positive - that says the opposite of what I write these alleged customers -
but there seems to be that our customers received bad traits?? or a "friend" coincidentally is run in the same hotel and this lady are - just him in a thousand customers - the cold eggs.
honestly these things are a little laugh. especially when we read the reviews of other competing facilities that have incredible five star positive reviews, and does not even need eggs for breakfast .. indeed give practically nothing of what we offer.
but their company profiles are "well managed" evidently by companies that are proposed to us, to "tune" and improve judgments about ta
So it's all very strange and ambiguous.
prefer to believe those customers who stayed really true in our facility and have left serene and objective judgments, many others do not because there is someone who manages ta them simply removed or filtered out.
so many things are strange and incomprehensible
you will see that after this response will come many other judgments incredibly negative .... we however we intend to never spend money on trip advisor for fake advertising or self-styled business profiles.

This was our first trip to Rome. We had a package deal which included B&B at the Hotel Rimini. The hotel was a few minutes walking distance from Termini and so very convenient for our purposes as it was central to all our excursions either by the Hop on hop off bus or the metro. The staff were polite and very helpful, suggesting some lovely restaurants for us to eat at. Our room had all we needed and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast selection was generous and I liked that, in addition to filter coffee, you could have a special order coffee at no extra cost.

Room Tip: Our room was on floor 6. While there was a lift, it was small and sometimes it was quicker to go dow...

Pros:
- Extremely convenient location (walk to Colosseum in 15min, train station in 2min, metro in 4min). Also great for transfers to and from FCO airport.
- Good breakfast- juice, bread, cheese, meat, cereal, yogurt.
- Rooms are decent. Some on the top floors offer giant balconies (#505) and bathrooms seem recently redone.
- Air con/heat automatic

Cons:
- Beds are extremely stiff and hard. Sleeping will be difficult your first night.
- Small beds (twin size or smaller?). But this is common in Europe.
- The internet, especially at night, is remarkably inconsistent and not useable at all on some of the higher floors. Is it really that hard for the hotel to buy a booster??

Hotel Rimini is a very nice middle of the road hotel super close to the Termini Station - you could throw a stone and hit it!

Pros: GREAT customer service and very friendly, especially for us American Tourists. Great location close to the Termini for easy travel around and in/out of the city. Free breakfast (limited choices but adaquate to get you started for the day), free WIFI, comfortable and adaquate rooms.

Cons: Bathroom was pretty tight, and could use a fresh coat of paint on ceiling to cover a little mold growth. Shower could have been bleach sprayed to clean a little better. Overall room was clean and I can be picky, just these two little things could have used more attention. Beds were FIRM! Ultra firm almost like sleeping on a board. Pillows also flat and somewhat uncomfortable. Overall everything else in the room was great.

We were in room 501, which we requested and were granted (requested based on other tripadvisors suggestions). Nice Room with a little balcony and table. Same floor as breakfast room so we were able to fix a plate and eat in our room a couple days instead of in the breakfast room. Good value at only $90 US a night.

Room Tip: Room 501 had a little balcony which all rooms do not have.

My boyfriend and I stayed here during our time in Rome and it was good. The hotel itself is clean, the staff are very friendly and there is a good selection at breakfast. We did have a small problem with our air conditioning but the staff did everything they could to help. The location is brilliant! Literally just steps from the main termini, and just a few stops via the metro from all the main tourist sites such as the trevi foutain and colleseum. As we were so close to the main termini we were expecting a lot of noise, but this was not the case. In fact the only noises that we herd were the church bells in the morning but thats hardly their fault. Only negative I will say is that the beds aren't the comfiest in the world, but still we managed to have a few good nights sleep :)

Room Tip: Ask for the 5th floor as this is where breakfast is served and these rooms have a balcony.

I booked my holiday to Rome through Holiday Gems and was very satisfied when we arrived from the airport and was dropped off at the Termini and the hotel was located directly opposite.Hotel Rimini isn't 5 star but when traveling on a budget it was perfect clean, generous breakfast, pleasant and helpful staff.I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to be in a perfect location and close to all tourist attractions.

Room Tip: My partner and I stayed in Room 409 it was okay size but has a beautiful window that you could see t...
