“Disappointing”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

If you are not a retired tourist looking for a reasonable place: don't go to this hotel!! The hotel has average service and lousy location. Definitely not for business travellers.

When you make a reservation make sure you check where your room is... is it in Sheraton 1,2, or 3....one would imagine the hotel would tell you advance...but they don't. You could end up walking half a km or more with baggage if you don't get it right.

Thank you very much indeed for writing this review. May I kindly advise that the fact that the hotel has three different buildings is published on our official web site. All three buildings are served by a Minibus which allows a quick and easy passage between the buildings and I am sorry that this was not explained better. With over 40 meeting rooms, 4 restaurants and 4 bars and coffee shops plus 818 rooms we are well equipped to deal with major international events.
Our facilities, with 85 hectares of green park land and a 27-hole golf course and two swimming pools, are located at the south-west of Rome – inside the great ring road motorway which surrounds Rome. It is well connected with our shuttle bus which goes to the centre of Rome from morning to late evening.
I thank you again and look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.
Yours very sincerely, Patricia Moore, Executive Assistant to General Manager.

Thank you to the Staff of the Sheraton Parco de'Medici. Friendly staff, convenient Shuttle to Rome, beautiful grounds outside of Rome and good food on site. We stayed for 6 nights and took the shuttle in to Rome. Even when the shuttle broke down, we called the front desk and they sent a van to pick us up.

Room Tip: Building 1 is "villas" by the Golf Course, Building 2 Modern boutique style rooms with out...

Stayed at Parco de Medici for a full week on a golfing holiday and must say that I am not at all satisfied. The hotel seems to have past the date for best usage a long while ago. After my stay I have been in contact with the hotel and all they try to do is to explain why things have happened and not at all thinking of how to compensate a dissatisfied customer. They instead try to create fantasies of why things have gone wrong.

Some examples of our experience:

1) The room - The room we got was very small and really not a suitable room for golfers with extra luggage. The worst part with the room was though that the only windows that were in the room looked out to a small patio with high walls. The only view had was the sky. We also smelled cigarette smoke coming into the room.

2) The keys - During our stay our card keys stopped working no less than six times. Every time this happened we got good service but no excuse from the staff. Note that I kept the key card in the paper envelope that it was delivered in so it would not get in contact with any other card and get demagnetised. Probably the cards are old.

3) The breakfast - It seemed like there were no planning or monitoring of the breakfast dishes. Several times no one in the staff discovered that important dishes were missing. The guests had to tell the staff when something was missing and then the staff ordered more from the kitchen that took several minutes.

3) The pricing of wifi - in 2013 a normal rate of wifi at a hotel should be free. It would probably be much cheaper to buy a cash mobile internet card for the stay than using the hotel service.

4) Printing of documents - When using the internet service (we had the business option) there were a possibility to print documents. When I tried to use that the staff in the reception had no idea of how to get that working. Instead they advised me to go back to my room and mail the documents to the reception instead of using the print server.

5) Pricing in the bar - One beer was priced 8,50 EUR. You dont pay that even at a fancy restaurant, more less at a hotel by the highway. That limited our visit at the bar to once.

6) The shuttle bus to Rome city - One night the bus back to the hotel did not appear. The hotel was probably aware of that because we heard that also earlier buses did not work. Despite that the hotel did nothing to prepare for taxis at the bus stop.

In total this hotel is not a four star hotel. Maybe it could qualify as a two star at the most.

Room Tip: Pick another hotel. This is not worth the money.

Thank you very much for finding the time to publish your review.
Indeed, we normally try to accommodate our golfers at SG1 – the one closest to the Club House, but during the period of your stay this building was “taken over” by a huge meeting.

Replenishment of breakfast items: we have spoken to our Department head to make sure that this incident remains an isolated case and I regret that this happened during your stay.

Pricing of wi-fi : we are working on this matter, at the moment we offer internet rates which include wi-fi – and in the interim one may chose to connect with the Link@Sheraton which is found in the hall of building SG2.

Indeed the printing of documents did give us some problems during the time of your stay and I am pleased to say that this was since resolved.

Our bar prices reflect those of any four star hotel in Rome. Furthermore, all our produce is supplied fresh every morning 7/7 – from supplies who apply the HACCP protocol just as we do.

If the bus is delayed or re-routed to a different stop (as sometimes the City of Rome closes access to the centre of Rome and no busses may enter, which means for us to re-direct the bus to a tube station – either one close to the centre or close to the hotel).
Thank you again.
Yours very sincerely, Publish Relations Manager, Sheraton Golf Parco de’ Medici Hotel & Resort, Rome.

We visited Rome in Feb2013 on a Holiday/Business and stayed at this elegant property for 03 Nights. Every little minute of our stay was just too perfect from the time we checked-in until the check-out. That was indeed a good experience.

Team of the hotel reception desk was quite efficient with their tasks and as a result I spent less than 02 Minutes there.

The hotel (Building No 02) is so elegant with a huge Lobby facing to a beautiful Gold course. The rooms are so massive and equipped with state-of-the –art technology. Large king size bed with feather like soft pillows, dedicated office desk with ready-to-use Wifi/LAN connections, Sofa, Large TV with many Italian/English channels, Mini Bar, Electronic Safe, large and comfortable washroom with all modern fittings have added lots of value to the room rate you pay for. Well, that’s not all….

The breakfast is served at the Ground Floor and that’s one of the best dining places I came across during my Travel. The food was absolutely great and there were too many options to pamper your appetite.

The Hotel is mainly occupied by Business Travelers and I noticed this property is well popular amongst international companies who conduct various types of business events throughout the year. In fact this Hotel has capacity to hold so many business events at the same time due to the size of the property. I also observed that this hotel also being used by most of international airlines that fly to Rome, in order to accommodate their cabin crew members for their break time, after their long haul flights.

Sheraton Golf is actually a large complex of 3 buildings Building 1, 2 & 3 (Parco 01, 2 & 3), all sounded by a massive 27-hole Golf course. Each building has its own entrance, parking, reception and services. The hotel is located outside of Rome city, but near to Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci)International airport. It takes approximately 01 hour to the town (Approximately 50 euros one way by Taxi). Alternatively, there is also scheduled Sheraton shuttle Bus service to/from the city, for just 04 euros one way, which I found more convenient. They can also drop you at a nearby Metro station (Magaliana Metro Station – Line B) for just 2 euros. From there you can easily get to the Roma Termini main railway station is just 25 Minutes (1.50 Euro one way).

The hotel has their own Inter-connected guest transportation system between these 03 buildings as those 03 buildings are actually located in a non-walkable distance. You only have to inform the reception desk where you need to go, and your transportation will be ready in seconds.

If you feel bored at the hotel (I bet you won’t) you can also visit “The Village” which is just next to the Building 01, which offers verity of restaurants, pizzerias, cinemas, penny arcades, a book shop, souvenirs, etc.

The hotel staff members are indeed so friendly and helpful at all times. And I must complement one special person in the Sheraton team Ms. Ilaria Belegiiia who made our stay so comfortable and a so remarkable one. Thank you again.

Common findings in Hotels in Italy.

Due to safety concerns, none of the Hotels in Italy provide Iron facilities in their guest rooms. Most of Standard Hotels have separate Iron rooms for this purpose (no extra fee). If this is inconvenient for you, then you need to ask for in-house Laundry services to do this for you (for a fee, of course)

No Tea/Coffee making (kettle) facility in guess rooms, again due to safety reasons.

Italians are very much confident drinking water directly from the main water supply (where you find the Tap water in your Hotel washroom). As a result, you will not find free of charge mineral water bottles in any hotels in Italy.

Other Useful Tips.

All hotels in Italy provide printed local Maps free of charge. Get one and you’re all set to explore the city by your own. Rome is easy to navigate just with a local map & Metro map, so don’t really overspend your money for tour companies/tour guides etc. (unless you really in to a mission learning the history of each attraction)

The main Railway station in Rome is “Roma Termini” (Stazione Termini), walking distance from all the sights. Other railway stations such as “Roma Ostiense” and “Roma Tiburtina” are on the outskirts of the Rome city, incase if you arrive in any of these 02 railway stations, you'll need a taxi (around €10) or local train to get to the main Railway station “Roma Termini” (Stazione Termini).

The Vatican has its own suburban station called “Roma San Pietro”, but it’s easy to reach St Peter’s from “Roma Termini” (Stazione Termini) by bus or taxi.

Room Tip: High Floor facing the Golf Course would be the best selection....

it is one of the best stays in rome and i enjoyed it. The rooms are cozy and maintained well and staff are helpful. there is also a free shittle to city so its easy to get around. The restaurants are good and serves some good italian pastas.
The only issue is the rooms are not ready and policy of 4 pm check in is followed so if flights are early arrival hotel needs to inform before or you will have to wait.
i got some rain and beautiful weather on my visit so roaming around was not tiring the evenings are very cold and humid.

Room Tip: internet is free and rooms towards golf view are great. the shuttle bus to city runs on a charge and...

This has been my second time at this property, and was enjoyable as the former one. People are friendly and very supportive to your needs. As a platinum member, you receive your upgrade automatically. One thing useful is their shuttle going to downtown (just 4 Euros going there, and going back is for free). I do not have to wake up so early for my flights as is loacated near to Fuimicino Intl. Airport. If you are looking for a nice view, relaxing time and/or playing golf, do not have second thoughts, just get a room. Breakfast is very good with many choices and options. Their coffe is supreme.

Room Tip: "higher floors have better views either sides!

This Sheraton is nice in a sense that it is outside Rome, quiet, and is approximately 15 minutes by taxi from the airport (FCO) when there is no traffic (with traffic is about 35 minutes). It is an average Sheraton with no Executive Club (but have a Business Center). The good thing about this hotel is that there is a "Shuttle" that goes to downtown Rome (close to the Forum) every 1 - 1 1/2 hours or so for a minimal fee of 4 Euros for the trip (paid at the hotel) and return ride is free - so 2 Euros per way is very cheap.

Room Tip: If you are a Platinum Member, you will have to ask to be upgraded to a suite or a Jr. Suite. The Jr...
