We went there on the recommendation of a friends and also encourage by TA reviews. This place isn't easy to find. The food is absolutely wonderful and one can really sense the quality of ingredients used in every dish. One of the best dining experiences we ever had. We want to come back. Thanks staff of Tavernetta.

This was our last meal in Rome. Tried this place for the first time and were not disappointed. We started with glass of Procecco, PERFECT!!! The Service was amazing and the food great for meat eaters (Fillet tavernetta 48 the best). Desserts were especially outstanding. We can't wait to visit again

There are countless restaurants near the Pantheon. They are all aggressively looking for the tourist dollar. Some have "tourist menus" (Ugh) Some are priced to rob you. But if you are willing to roam around you will run across this little gem hidden away on a side street. The food is wonderful. Not a red sauce in sight! Two of us shared an appetizer of salami and cheese and Spaghetti alle Vongole - which was excellent. Lots of clams, good sauce and not salty! I had the Saltimbocca, which was clearly freshly made on premises. A delight, and not overwhelmed with sage, which I have experienced elsewhere in Rome. The Panna Cotta was a sinful dessert that probably raised my blood sugar, but was every bit worth the gamble! Had the house red wine, which I usually do in Rome because it is always affordable and always good. I have been to La Tavernetta every summer for the past few years. It is always good, tasty fare, and they treat you like you are family.

Word of warning: they were not open on a Sunday night when we tried to go on our last night.

We ate here a couple of times over the course of a week as it was very close to the apartment was rented. They have a much smaller menu than the more touristy places, but the food is so much better, plus it is quite a bit cheaper!

They start you off with a glass of a lovely Proseco. We tried all the steaks, and a couple of the pastas. Our favorites ended up being the Peppercorn steak (the balsamic one was a bit over the top) and the Arrabiatta pasts which was very spicy in good way and was a very generous portion. With the steaks we had the baked potatoes which are pretty much french fries rather than the baked potato you would get at a steak restaurant in the states. One side order is enough for two people.

The house white wine is very nice and easy to drink. The guys in our group tried the Chianti the waitress recommended and enjoyed it very much. We also tried the chocolate cake since they were out of nutella crepes and it was fantastic.

Cute place to eat! Loved the compimentary drink and their food. The outside wasn't packed with people so that was definitely a plus! Quiet atmosphere since it's tucked away in an 'alley'.
The only annoying things was the vendors walking by every couple of minutes trying to push their goods on you.
