The zone hotel was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood.
The hotel was very clean and quite modern. It was fun to experience the history of Rome and come back and relax in modern luxury.
We had a perfect room with an amazing balcony, would love to go again

Me and my wife stayed here as part of our Honymoon package and I must say, this is not for families! It's very nice for married couples due to the semi see through shower/bathrooms. Overall very comfortable and clean. We loved the ultra modern design and friendly staff!

My wife and I have literally just returned from our honeymoon in Rome where we stayed at the Zone Hotel and we wanted to share our positive observations with other prospective visitors.
From the moment we walked through the entrance, we were made welcome by the staff which continued throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble for them. All of the staff were courteous and extremely helpful.
The Hotel itself is contemporary in design and offers a visually pleasing environment in which to stay; our room which was on the First Floor was spacious, comfortable and together with the rest of the Hotel, was kept exceptionally clean.
The breakfast buffet offered a variety of fresh fooddstuffs and beverages. We also ate in the Hotel Restaurant where once again the food was superb and varied.
The Hotel provided a free shuttle service in and out of the city centre (Piazza Cavoure) at various times during the day...you need to book the outward trip but cannot reserve a place on the return journey as it is on a "first come first serve" basis...the mini-bus will only take a max: of 8 persons. There is a bus that will get you in and out of the city centre (Piazza Cavoure) to and from a stop close to the Hotel it is bus Number 990...the Hotel Receptionist will show you where the stop is...the fare is 1.50 euros for a single.
In essence, we thoroughly recommend Hotel Zone and will be definitely going back in the near future.

I stayed at the Zone Hotel in the Balduina / Monte Mario area northwest of Roma in June 2012. The hotel was very clean, the staff were polite, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the in-hotel restaurant and bar were very good. The included breakfast featured roughly the same basic fare each day in an all-you-can-eat format: scrambled eggs, cold cuts, breads, yogurt, fruit, cold cereals, cakes, juices, and various types of coffee and tea. I was there enough days to try most of these items, and all were quite good. My room on the second floor was typical for what I would expect in Europe, which means smaller than American style hotels, much bigger than Tokyo hotels, and quite comfortable as a place to do email, sleep and wash, overall. The wireless was free and worked very well in my room. The shower stall is small by American standards, but typical for mid-range European hotels. The walls are a little thin, but the floors are solid. The rug in my room was clean but was wearing a little thin in places. The temperature control (a/c) was quiet and effective. In my opinion, the bed and pillows were the best I've experienced in years of a lot of traveling ... firm and flat, respectively. The neighborhood is very quiet, as the hotel is at the end of a dead-end street. There is a nice little pizzeria about 5 minutes walking time down the street. The Balduina train station is about 10 minutes walking time, which can be a bit of a haul if one is walking up the slight hill to the hotel with a week's worth of luggage on one's back. The train runs frequently during work days, but sometimes only once per hour during off-peak times. If you need train tickets, you may need to use the cigarette vending machine outside the Tabbachi store next to the station, as tickets are not available in the station, as best as I can tell. The store was closed when I wanted to get some tickets on a Saturday morning 08:00, but I assume they have tickets inside the store too. For a couple of Euros, one can get a box of 4 tickets -- each good for something like 100 minutes on the buses or trains. (Time starts from whenever you validate the tickets). I didn't try out the buses. The hotel provides shuttle bus rides to/from predetermined points. They were very willing to drop me and my luggage off at a certain metro station along the way to their usual destination. I did not have the chance to evaluate their shuttle service to downtown Roma, as most of my business was being done on the west side of the Tiber river, a mile or so from the hotel. A taxi ride from just east of the Tiber river in downtown Roma to the hotel cost me about 20 Euro and took about 15 minutes. This was after the traffic died down in the early evening. I would definitely consider this hotel again if I was not there only for touring downtown. If doing the town is your main mission, than you should take stock of factors like room cost and commuting cost/time in figuring out your best accommodations.

I went to home with a friend for city break. The hotel was great. Very modern in style. Food was great. The free breakkfast is just what you need to start your day. Unfortunately the location isn't great. It's in a residential area so not much to do aat night and because it is far out of the city centre of rome we couldn't really do Rome at night. What was fantastic was the free shuttle bus that dropped you off at The Vatican. My friend and I spent all day in rome and got the last shuttle back to the hotel at 5.30. If you want the night life of Rome don't stay but it is a great hotel for city break.

staff very helpful on arrival. we were given a spacious ground floor room. light outside room was not working and shower flooded on floor but these were fixed as soon as we mentioned them at reception. very easy to get into central rome on FR3 and metro trains and very cheap quick and frequent. Breakfast was as much as you could eat toast scrambled eggs fruit yoghurt tea hot chocolate pastries.Evening meals were very good especially if you like steak but there was pasta salads chicken etc. well stocked bar and served by a very helpful and friendly barman/ waiter called Denis.good air conditioning or heater if required. good value for the money

Room Tip: Rooms have stone floors take slippers. can upgrade if want to.

stayed at this hotel from March 19th to 21st 2012. on arrival, staff at reception supplied us with maps of rome. told us about transport to and from the Hotel, and how much it cost. marked out sights to see on the map. we only used the local bus once, then used the hotel shuttle to take us to central rome, and got taxis back at night. taxi cost an average of 15 euros. well worth the price. the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. the only downside, was not the hotel, but the surrounding area. it was very dirty, on the pavement, some filled with rubbish, and dog dirt. had to walk on the road most of the time.pavements also full of potholes. would not like to walk the area in the dark. need also to remember, if using the bus, to buy ticket, cost 1 euro, at tobbaconist BEFORE boarding. there is a fine of between 50 and 100 euros each ON THE SPOT if you dont have this ticket.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are happy to know that you appreciate our hotel and our friendly staff.
As for the inconvenience encountered in the areas surrounding the hotel, unfortunately is linked a unpleasant situation of a slowdown in the cleaning services and the organization of the town due to a strike in force at that time.
The hotel area being a residential area of Rome's elite in which all the inhabitants like us, are very sensitive to the order and cleaning of the surrounding area
One of our strengths is definitely the free shuttle to the city center, available in several times to cover the whole day, within few minutes our customers are located in the heart of Rome.
Thanking you once again for this comment, we send our best wishes with the hope to welcome you again as our guest
