“All around average hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

My wife and I just finished 4 nights with the hotel (booked via Priceline). There were many good features along with some negatives:

Pros:
-Excellent location near Termini station, yet still quiet. No street noise at all.
-Excellent continental breakfast (ours came with our reservation)
-Good sized room and CLEAN
-Mini-bar with very reasonable prices
-Friendly and helpful staff
-Free wifi!
-A/C (very important during the summer months)

Cons:
-Walls are a bit thin. We could hear our neighbors quite well. It didn't keep us awake thankfully.
-Beds and pillows are a bit hard, but I believe this is typical of Italy (?). We like hard beds, so we slept well - but it's worth pointing out.
-WiFi was really slow for anything beyond checking email. (at least it was free)

Neutral:
-No iron in the room, but the one they lent us was above-average quality.
-Even with priceline, the cost was sort of high for what we got. This hotel is more like a nicer 3 star rather than a 4-star.

So in the end, there was nothing that would prevent me from coming back, but neither was it so amazing that I wouldn't consider other options.

Our stay was very, very pleasant and very comfortable. The room is very, very clean, roomy including the bathroom, it depends on what room you are assigned. Some rooms are not as big as the other rooms but still roomy because we stayed to this hotel twice after coming back from Paris on the same week. Staff are very friendly and speaks very well English. The air conditioning works very well, the shower works good, there's a refrigerator in the room and hair dryer. Breakfast is very good with a lot of selection. Very accommodating hotel compare to other hotels we stayed from previous European vacation because this hotel let us stay to a three people beds and we are three adults and one child, this hotels also let us store our luggage as we are flying to Paris and we don't want to bring everything with us since we are coming back to this hotel. We are very happy and satisfied with this hotel and definitely book to this room again in the future visits.

Very cosy and nice hotel. Very nice rooms, and the most friendly staff. Just skip the breakfast if it's not included. 12,5 Euros for an average breakfast is really not a good deal. But besides that; a real gem. Tip: Ask for room away from main street, as the windows are old and don't keep the street noise out.

My wife and I Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I used Priceline to get this hotel but it turned out it was very similar to the web price so not much saving. In addition read average reviews so it felt a disappointment using PL and getting this hotel but my experience was different.
Location is excellent and perfect for our liking. Not in the tourist attraction area but 5 min walk from termini and in a very quiet side street. It was very convenient for us to board the train and buses, maximizing use of ROMA PASS. A lot of Halal resturants in the area.
Staff was VERY courteous, polite and helpful. We arrived early but the room was ready so we were given the room right away. They were very helpful whenever we asked questions or needed any thing. Always responded with a smile.
Breakfast was served in a basement room but choice of food was good. Free Internet was a PLUS.
The only gripe is No Iron in the room but that seems to be the policy in Italy as a whole and not confined to this hotel only.
Overall a positive experience and would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The lobby is nicely decorated and the hotel staff is friendly but that is where it all ends.
The mattress was as hard as a door and our king size bed had springs poking us in the back! the fixtures in the bathrooms are severely outdated. There isn't a complete shower door and it causes the floor to become wet. The refrigerator wouldn't cool down beverages. The TV only has one station with English and very poor reception. That is stupid with all the American tourists. There is no swimming pool either.

Room Tip: ONLY stay at commercial hotel chains when traveling over seas! They will have nicer rooms and more c...

Dear Guest,

Thanks for your review. I am so sorry to hear that your stay one year ago, at the Hotel Royal Court

did not match with your expectations and I apologize for any inconvenience we might have caused to you.

Please be assured that our only aim is to make our Guests' stay the most enjoyable one.

We would have loved to assist you while you were in house if we knew about the mattress and we could find a solution by replacing it or offering a room move where you could have found a more comfortable bed.

The tv channels in English are more than one and asking at the front desk is the most natural thing in a hotel.

At the end yes we would like to have a swimming pool too.

We would love to have the opportunity to welcome you again to the Hotel Royal Court

in order to let you change your opinion about our property.

Best regards

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in August at the end of a 24 day journey across Eastern Europe. We were a bit nervous coming up to the hotel, especially because it is in a major tourist area. We arrived 3 hours before check-in yet the staff allowed us to drop off our luggage in the lobby so we could immediately go out site seeing. When we arrived back, our room was ready and our luggage was waiting for us in our room.

Each time we called down to the concierge, they answered all of our questions and provided us with everything we needed. They even lock the front gate past midnight and have an intercom system to the front desk in order for the gates to be open. It made me feel more comfortable and safe to have that feature. The concierge was very courteous and welcoming. All the staff were very polite and friendly and we felt at home here right away.

Every morning, we enjoyed the delicious spread of meat, jams, eggs, cereals, fruit, and pastries for breakfast. Two out of three mornings, we had the entire breakfast lounge to ourselves.

The only down side is that it is not in the "heart" of Rome, however, it is very close to Termini station, so we were able to take a $14 (Euro) train ride to the airport on our departure day. It is still on the downtown Rome map and is only a 25-minute walk to the Colosseum and Palatino/Forum.

Overall, our stay here was fantastic. The decor and cleanliness of the room were superb, the staff were so kind to us and the price was fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in August and were very happy with the hotel. It is just a 5 min walk from the train platform linking the centre of Rome with the airport. The surrounding area is a little run down and grubby in places but there are some great restaurants in the area and, importantly for us, all of the major sites in the city are within walking distance of the hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated with a large, superbly comfortable bed and efficient air con. There was a reasonably priced mini bar. The bathroom was a little small but was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good and the staff were lovely. Will stay here again next time we visit.
