My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in August at the end of a 24 day journey across Eastern Europe. We were a bit nervous coming up to the hotel, especially because it is in a major tourist area. We arrived 3 hours before check-in yet the staff allowed us to drop off our luggage in the lobby so we could immediately go out site seeing. When we arrived back, our room was ready and our luggage was waiting for us in our room.

Each time we called down to the concierge, they answered all of our questions and provided us with everything we needed. They even lock the front gate past midnight and have an intercom system to the front desk in order for the gates to be open. It made me feel more comfortable and safe to have that feature. The concierge was very courteous and welcoming. All the staff were very polite and friendly and we felt at home here right away.

Every morning, we enjoyed the delicious spread of meat, jams, eggs, cereals, fruit, and pastries for breakfast. Two out of three mornings, we had the entire breakfast lounge to ourselves.

The only down side is that it is not in the "heart" of Rome, however, it is very close to Termini station, so we were able to take a $14 (Euro) train ride to the airport on our departure day. It is still on the downtown Rome map and is only a 25-minute walk to the Colosseum and Palatino/Forum.

Overall, our stay here was fantastic. The decor and cleanliness of the room were superb, the staff were so kind to us and the price was fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in August and were very happy with the hotel. It is just a 5 min walk from the train platform linking the centre of Rome with the airport. The surrounding area is a little run down and grubby in places but there are some great restaurants in the area and, importantly for us, all of the major sites in the city are within walking distance of the hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated with a large, superbly comfortable bed and efficient air con. There was a reasonably priced mini bar. The bathroom was a little small but was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good and the staff were lovely. Will stay here again next time we visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights 15/8/13. If you can ignore the litter and mess around the Termini station the hotel is very convenient. Inside the hotel is excellent nice rooms and good breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.

After a few days of not getting anywhere on Priceline for a 4-star hotel in the usual tourist areas of Rome at a bid of USD110, I bit the bullet and selected the not so desired Termini area and immediately got accepted at the very non-Italian sounding Hotel Royal Court. My trepidation grew as I went straight to TripAdvisor and read about the complaints that it is not worthy of 4 stars and located in a seedy neighbourhood and it turned to angst as I went to the official hotel website and saw they were offering cheap rooms for around USD110 as well.. my heart sank admist curses of Priceline.

So it was without much expectations that day I trundled up Via Marghera (which does smell of urine - not surprising as we did happen one time upon the full frontal view of a man urinating in the middle of the road admist the evening hustle and bustle) with my luggage and found the hotel hidden in a little nook about 5 minutes walk away from the station.. and the man at the counter greeted us with the friendliest welcome we have had in Italy! Don't get me wrong - it wasn't a big bonjourno bear hug; more of a quiet assured I'm happy to see you attitude.

That kind of passive happy welcome resonated throughout the small hotel of quiet undertones and subdued hues.. there was hardly anyone in the faux elegant tombish breakfast gallery but the smartly dressed waiter was on attentive standby in the next room and the spread of ham and cheese and other breakfast choices although modest in nature and repeated daily were fresh and prepared with care.

The room had the loudest tones and harks to an Italian baroque style with a big gold mirror and red walls - the bathroom was similarly decorated and unfortunately the standing shower seems an afterthought tucked in a small corner in an otherwise spacious room. The room size itself was quite big for Italian standards and had nice high ceilings and french doors overlooking the courtyard. The bed was ok, the TV small, the WiFi strong. Only gripe is the need for some general maintenance ie. slight musty smell in the room, some of the room's wooden floor planks felt loose and look like they could use a fresh coat of varnish, some parts of the corridor's false wood flooring felt uneven as if it were buckling.

Overall a nice stay in a quiet unassuming little hotel!

Room Tip: The ground floor room overlooking the courtyard was ok - there may be early morning/late night chatt...

We have arrived home from a 3 night visit to Rome. We stayed in Hotel Royal Court and were very happy with our choice if hotel.
1) The location is fantastic. It's within sight (1-2 minute walk) of the Termini train station. Me and my wife didn't take one taxi or one trip on the metro because due to the hotels location we could walk everywhere. You also get a real feel for the city doing this. Very recommended.
2) The Staff. We found them helpful and efficient. When we arrived in the room we noticed we had no toilet paper. We phoned reception and it was delivered in seconds, and they apologised for the mistake. Very conscientious. They soon recognised us and acknowledged us whenever we were around which I think is positive as it makes you feel welcome and not just a number. They were always ready with a hello or a friendly "bonjorno".
3) The Room. It was ground floor and very adiquate. It was quite grandly decorated despite only being a standard room. We literally used it as a base to sleep and regroup which it was perfect for. The beds are hard but very comfortable and they are very big (king/queen size). The crowning glory for me with the room though was that the hotel offered free wi-fi (sad I know, but there you are). So many hotels demand that you pay for wi-fi but not the Royal Court. It's perfect for keeping up with your emails, surfing the web (trip advisor of course!) and in my case, sending teasing pictures of rome back home to friends and family.
Lastly, as I'm sure your eyes are beginning to hurt... 4) The Hotel itself. I've already mentioned the location but the hotel itself is small, simple and just right for its purpose. The breakfast was diverse and filling and there was plenty of it. The waiters were descrete yet efficient. And all the staff were helpful.
All in all, if your going to visit the beautiful 'eternal city' make the Royal Court your base to enjoy the city that much more! Ciao - B Sampson

We spent five nights in this lovely hotel. The place is located very close to Termini Station which was helpful. The staff working in the hotel were helpful and nice. We didnt have a single bad thing to say about the place. Great value for what you pay!

We stayed here for 2 nights in July after reading previous trip advisor comments and realising the hostel we thought about staying in was going to work out about the same for 4 of us in a quadruple room. and we wanted to be near Termini. The room was a good size for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, nicely decorated, cool with shutters on the window to keep the sun out, beds could maybe be a bit more comfortable. Saw three people on the front desk, the gentleman who checked us in was all about business, very efficient but not a lot of warmth there but the other 2 were friendly and smiley. Breakfast wasn't included on our room rate so no idea what food was like. Reasonable location for walking everywhere, bought an all day pass for subway but didn't really use it. used terravision to get from the airport for 4 euros each to termini. Would be happy to stay here again!
