“Lovely place...haven close to Termini”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

While the map and directions to find this place weren't the best, once locating it we were very pleased. Rooms are spotless and everything is very well maintained. Lovely garden area with flowers and palms ..very relaxing with a glass of wine. Jacuzzi was wonderful after an overnight flight and a day of walking Rome. Breakfast in the charming restaurant in the basement was absolutely lovely. So impressed that we could check in early and start exploring.

Room Tip: Booking around Termini is very handy to get anywhere and take a bus from the airport for 4 euros to...

Just returned from a four night break in Rome with my daughter. This hotel was recommended to me by friends and we were not let down.
The staff are efficient, helpful but unintrusive. The hotel public areas and our room very clean. A good base for exploring Rome by foot as we did, or if preferred by local transport as the termini is a short walk away - a couple or streets.
We walked everywhere, and excellent and reasonably priced restaurants very close. Two to five minutes walk from hotel.
It a 3 star hotel, therefore perhaps not as many facilities as other 4 & 5 star hotels I usually stop in.
No drink making facilities in room, but having said that the American style bar serves hot and cold drinks which were brought to our room when we wanted and we could then sit on our lovely raised private terrace which looked over the well groomed court yard garden. The TV seemed to only have one english speaking channel (a news channel I think) but that did not concern us as we were either chilling on our terrace or in the garden with a drink when we had a little spare time away from sightseeing and eating the lovely food in the friendly local restaurants.
Bathroom facilities great and spotless. Great power shower and plenty of towels and soap and shower gels supplied.
The breakfast is quite a simple affair but plentiful, various cheeses, meats and breads, lovely creamy butter, jams and honey, yogurts, fruit, breakfast cereals and cakes. Various teas, coffees and fruit juices. Enough to set you up for a buy day of sightseeing.
Nothing was to much trouble for the staff in the hotel. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up and deliver us safely back to the airport which gave us more time than maybe we would have had waiting around for public transport.

Room Tip: Perhaps make sure what type of room you are booked into as there is a variety at different price lev...

first impressions - very clean hotel. our room was to the front of the building. perfectly adequate.
couldn't find any English speaking TV channels in room ( not that it really mattered). free Wi-Fi for an hour.
not one of the best breakfasts I've had - lots of cakes to choose from.
air con work very well.
Hotel set in a quiet area, plenty of other hotels around area and reasonably priced restaurants too( locals ate there also - always a good sign). away from the hustle and bustle of the city, literally walked a few hundreds yards to the restaurants which was very convenient in the evening, particularly when you've got sore aching feet/legs from the days activities and heat.
hotel very handy for the train station (termini). tour bus stops. metro and airport shuttle buses. all within easy walking distance.

Room Tip: our room was large, in the main part of hotel facing the front of building. room was a bit dark, thi...

Greeted by a warm welcome, then shown to a very clean tidy room. Breakfast is typical continental but plentiful and tasty. Great location, just 5minutes away from the train station so all the sights are within easy reach via public transport but if you like to walk as we do, you can get to see quite a bit on foot. Would be more than happy to stop at this hotel again.

After a 6 hour flight delay, we had a warm welcome from the man on reception at midnight. The hotel was difficult to find at this time of the night, but mainly because it was so dark and we couldn't see the street signs, but is very easy to find in daylight. It is in very close proximity to the Termini, and also to the Metro which takes you to the Colosseum.
We had a garden view room, which although was small, was a nice room. The air-con didn't seem to work as it should, as whatever setting we put it on, it still managed to blow out hot air. with the room being "muggy", we had to sleep with the balcony doors open instead. The beds when sitting on seemed very hard, but didn't cause us a problem when sleeping on.
Breakfast was decent, with plenty to chose from the continental spread to set you up for the morning.
Every member of staff we came across were friendly and helpful, and always had a smile on their face.
Despite the couple of problems with the room, we still had an enjoyable stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone. Thank you for all your help and kindness at Astoria Garden.

We stayed at Astoria garden six nights and liked the hotel very much!
The location was perfect: central, but quiet neighbourhood. You cuold easily walk to the different locations, but if you prefer to use buses or metro the central station is only a few minutes away.
We like to walk, so we didn't use public transportation at all, but walked everywhere!
The hotel itself was small, very quiet and clean. The staff was very polite, friendly and nice. The garden was beautiful - unfortunately February isn't a good month to sit outside.
The breakfast was okay, nothing special but everything you need to start the day.
I would probably give the hotel a rating of five if it wasn't for the rooms.
Our room was facing the street (no disturbing noice, though) and very small with a minimal window. That would have been okay - after all we hadn't planned spending the holiday in the room. But the lighting was really poor. The room was really dark even in the middle of the day, making it impossible to read something or study maps.

But still I can recommend this hotel to everybody who is looking for a nice hotel with a good location and friendly staff.

After much searching, I opted for this Hotel for the Italy v Wales Rugby International, based on other users reviews. I was not at all disapointed!
The staff were very welcoming and friendly and although our en suite room was on the small side, it was very clean and was kept clean by the staff for the 4 nights we were there. The Hotel is only 100 metres from the Termini so very convenient for the Metro, Trams & Buses to anywhere in Rome.
Plenty of Restaurants and Trattorias around the Hotel so you are spolit for choice. Would recommend this Hotel for anyone travelling to Rome - great value for money.
