Location excellent, hand in all material of Rome and in Parliament Square, away from the traffic of the city, not noisy. Outstanding staff, very friendly and attentive. The buffet great, very varied, assortment, and delicious. Cleanliness very good. Spacious rooms, although some furniture a bit old, but very carefully. Highly recommended, if I go back to Rome, I will not hesitate to return to this hotel. Excellent value for money.

Situated in a pedestrianised piazza this hotel is centrally located near all the main sights of this fabulous city and has a further advantage of being within walking distance of some wonderful family run restaurants. Enormously friendly staff, quick to help, provide maps, recommend and book restaurants etc. Our room was spacious with sofa, desk and bathroom with bath and shower. Pantheon and Trevi fountain are two minutes walk away and the Vatican about ten minutes along the river. We walked everywhere. Breakfast was fine. The first night we ate at L'Angelotto which was recommende and two minutes away - and excellent. Ristorant Settimio was even closer and so good that we returned the following evening. We would stay here again without a doubt. Bed was smaller than our king size and just a little hard.

We stayed three nights in this hotel. The hotel badly needs a makeover. The rooms are also dated and feels like 80's decor.
But the hotel is very centrally located and within walking distance (5 - 15 min) from all major tourist attractions. Also the parliament is next to the hotel and there is a small gelato shop just next to the hotel!
Only because of its location might come back but before will do more research for a better deal.

Excellent location, a peaceful hotel with some old times' charm. Close to Trevi, P. Di Navona etc. Good restaurants nearby. Safe location near the Parliament. Good breakfast, helpful staff. The Internet acccess was free for one hour per dat, though.

I was taken to Rome for a surprise Valentine break and we stayed at the Hotel Nazionale from the Wednesday to Saturday and were really pleased with the hotel. (Thank you darling xx)

She booked the Junior Suite and we were put in room 414 which was on the fourth floor in the left-hand side of the building (as you look at it from outside). The room was lovely, with a spacious lounge area, separated from the bedroom by a large sliding door. This would be absolutely perfect for couples/families, where one wants to go to bed and the other wants to stay up watching the TV (TV's in both rooms). My only slightly negative comment about the room is that the decor is slightly dated but it is really not bad and in no way impacted upon my favourable opinion of the room.

The view from the lounge window overlooks the Piazza Montecitorio and the Italian Parliament building, so it's nice and quite outside but still right in the middle of the city and a perfect location for wandering around and seeing the main sights of Rome (within walking distance of the hotel you will find the Spanish Steps, Trivi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona). The nearest Metro is about a 10-15 minutes walk.

The bed was amazingly comfortable and huge (my wife and I aren't small!) and the bedding of excellent quality.

The bathroom was large, with a bath and overhead shower, which was very powerful. The TV in the bedroom is linked into speakers in the bathroom, so if like my wife, you enjoying listening to the TV (which also has music channels available) whilst in the bath or on the toilet (!), this is great. Not so good for me, who likes a peaceful bath but couldn't turn the sound off when she insisted on watching the TV in the bedroom instead of the lounge.

The room comes with a hairdryer, mini fridge, bathrobe (only one) and slippers, as well as the tea and coffee tray, but note that we did not get any milk with ours, so I'm not sure if this is the norm or not, but we did ask for some and a jug was brought up to us with no problems.

The staff at the hotel were fantastic and so helpful. They helped with finding places in the locality, booking taxi's and really couldn't do enough to help.

Overall, the price wasn't cheap but I did get a deal of 3 nights for the price of 2 and Rome itself isn't cheap, but you do get a very good hotel and excellent service for your money.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality hotel in the centre of Rome.

We were amazed by the size of the suite we stayed, this is Europe after all, all things are supposed to be small by comparison to the US; we were pleasantly surprised. It was clean, roomy, bed was solidly comfortable, elegant; it has everything a travelers should need for a comfortable journey. It's centrally located, next to the Parliament, walking distance to all the attractions but tugged back enough to be quiet and of course the double paned windows also locked the noise out. We would recommend it and would use it again.

Room Tip: Higher floor usually is better in Europe due to the street noise but in this case, I don't think...
