I agree with the majority of the previous reviews and therefore I don't have to write at length.
The hotel enjoys a splendid location, very quiet and at the same time at a walking distance from the main sights of the city and from the shopping area ; rooms and interiors clean and well furnished, lounges with plenty of divans and armchairs, well-stocked bar, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast more than satisfactory, availability of a computer free of charge, room and bathroom spacious enough.
I have rated this hotel "very good" and not "excellent" only for two minor faults: the absence of a second armchair, even if small, in a double room, and the fact that, during my three day's stay, the first evening only the room has been made up for the night ( perhaps because the two missing evenings fell on Saturday and Sunday ? ). But, obviously, these are not terrible shortcomings.
And last but not least, taking into consideration all its features and above all its location, I judge the hotel prices absolutely fair.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view over the parliament square are definitely better

We spent a long weekend in Rome. Our hotel was the Hotel Nacionale in Piazza Montecitorio. This is an excellent place for tourist. Very good location, a few minits walk to the most important places: Pantheon, Pizza Navona and Piazza Venezia. Even the Campo de Foiri and the Farnese palace was only 10-15 minutes walking distance. The piazza of the hotel is closed for the cars, because it is near the Parlament, so it is very guite and safety (the police is giuded the Parlament buiding during the day and nights). The room and tha bathroom is comfortable and clean, the staff is very kind. The breakfast was nice. We can recommended for everybody whose want spent a few days in Rome, and want to discover the city by foot! Have a nice stay!

Great location in the centre of town, room was comfortable and what we expected with a fantastic view. All the staff were courteous and helpful. The breakfast was what you'd expected for the price. If we were in Rome again we'd stay at the hotel again.

Hotel Nazionale offers great location in the centre, close to the both parliamentary buildings, but also to the famous sights like Foro Romano, Colosseo or Vatican City with the St. Peter´s Cathedral. Very cose to the hotel is also Patheon, Fontain di Trevi and Spanish steps. The hotel itself is clean and looks great, but if you look closer, there are cracks in the paintings, the wardrobe doors are damaged and some electric equipment is not working. Rooms in the 1st floor are noisy because of the watter tubes around. The great thing is breakfast - huge choise and great self-made cappucino!! The hotel is not bad, but it is not worth of its cost, unfortunatelly...

Room Tip: Rooms with the square view in a higher floor are the best choise

Location counts a lot with us and this couldn't be better. It seemed to be a 20 minute or shorter walk to everything. It's very safe, clean, great breakfast, and a nice bar to get a nightcap in the evening. Next time we go to Rome we will stay here again.

This hotel is next to the Parliament building, very secure area and close to the Pantheon. It is walking distance to the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Colosseum, the Forum and the Borghese Gardens. No buses or subways needed. You can walk all day and come back and shower before going out for dinner. Hotel room was large, clean and a view of the Parliament buildings. Prepaid to save money. Computer available in seperate large room off of lobby, no charge if usuage under 10 minutes. Breakfast was more than expected, cheese, cold cuts, eggs, cereal, fruit, sweets and more. Staff very helpful and english very good. Would definitely stay here again.
