“Perfect place to be down for a weekend in Rome”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Ok so the room was not massive, and the concierge's local eating advice was limited to the restaurant next door, which we later found out was also the breakfast venue. That was bad advice- the restaurant was no better than average.

But everything was clean and worked, the staff (Giuseppe) were attentive and friendly and the breakfast was very nice. We walked everywhere from this base, Vatican (35 mins), Trastevere (20 mins), Colosseum (5 mins).

Decent value, bar open 24 hours. What's not to like?

Room Tip: We found out later that we had the smallest room (there was a plan of fire escapes)-don;t go for 124...

Staff were very friendly. Good things: the room was super quiet (which is very impressive when you know how noisy the centre of Rome is). The drawback to this was the room was quite small and its bathroom was down the hall, but if thats the price I have to pay for silence it was worth it). Centrally located, and i had wifi in my room which was a bonus as I saw guests sitting in the lobby using the wifi. Breakfast is served in the agjorning resturant and while good and wouldnt recommend dinner there as there are a lot better little places around. Room make up was quick and efficient. I've stayed in Rome twice now and this place by far was the better of the two (Hotel Saturnia).

Room Tip: I stayed in 125. Very quiet, rather small.

My husband and I stayed here, and unfortunately booked the room with the private bathroom down the hall - not ideal. Otherwise, however, the location was good for the site-seeing we were doing in Rome. The room was clean - though dated.
Everyone working at reception was very helpful.

I stayed here with two other friends (we are all 18) for a week and we were welcomed very warmly by the receptionist, even though we arrived late at night. Our room was fantastic; they gave us a quiet room just like we asked, we had air conditioning, it was very clean and the room was beautifully decorated for the price we paid! The bar was not too expensive and the beds were very comfortable. The doors all locked and there was a safe in the room too.

The hotel is fantastically located, the colosseum being only around five minutes away and the walk to and from the termini is not that far either. We found it easy to go back to the hotel in midday heat and still see all the sights and attractions the city has to offer.

Breakfast was really good, plenty on offer although we were glad we didn't pay for the hot buffet- it was rather disappointing and they did not regulate who should have it and who shouldn't.

We only came across one unfriendly staff member whilst there who was rather rude and short with us when we were checking out- we didn't quite realise that we had to pay the city tax when checking out.

All in all a fantastic experience and we would definitly return!

Did book this hotel after reading reviews from Trip advisor but was not very impressed. This could be because I booked the wrong room, the bathroom was 5 meters away in a lobby and thats not too good but thats my fault; please avoid booking that room. The breakfast wasn't good at all with very basic things to eat and I am a non vegetarian so there was no restriction but choice was very limited. There was just one toaster and so you had to queue to get a slice toasted. The bathroom had no shampoo or bathing soap. Tight corridors and very small bathroom.

Some good points -
The location is good as its less than 10mins walk from Trevi Fountain and not very far away from other places. The people at reception were very helpful and forthcoming trying to arrange everything possible. The locker facility was in the room so that was good.

Overall an OK place to stay if you are tight on budget .

Room Tip: Don't book the room with toilet outside, its not a very comfortable arrangement as the bathroom...

We visited 4 cities of Italy- me, my husband and 2 years old daughter. In hotel Hiberia, Rome we have met the most friendly attitude of stuff, always helpfull and smiling.Hotel is comfortable and meets it 3 star evaluation confidently.Location is perfect for Rome- all places of interests are very close, no need to take to somewere any transport, important when travelling everywere with baby roller.Inspite of dificalties with visiting memorials with small baby we have outprodused our limits with the help of the grate hotels location. Room was quite big and nice view to antic Rome. One thing was ununderstandable- shower stall without any doors. It was just shower on the floor surrounded by curtains cause it was west all the time and slimmy- quite dangerous for baby.
