Elegance! We held three rooms and all of them were lovely! The desk staff was attentive and available to answer questions, give directions, recommendations and any other incidentals we asked for or about. The doormen were pleasant as well. The rooms were all different. they were very clean and very well appointed with Hermes amenities. They provided bottled water each day in our rooms and nightly treats bedside. The bed in this hotel may be the best bed I ever slept in! (Agreed by everyone!). Location is very close to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain. Rome is such a walkable city, with that being said, other sites may be far but no better way to see Rome than walking. I wish I could have bottled the smell of the hotel and taken it home, we could not get enough of it each time you walked in.
Our only complaint is the air conditioning in the rooms could be cooler. Lobby was pleasant and refreshing. That is the reason for the 4 stars on the room.

we loved our stay at sofitel villa borghese. we could walk to most sites and if we took a taxi to farther places it was no more than 10 euros the ride. the room is spacious and confortable. buffet breakfast is great, although pretty expensive. we had lunch at the restaurante the day of our arrivel, good food and great views from the rooftop. The babycot in our room was very nice, with proper sheets and some amenities for our son, like a little teddy bear as a gift. Don't ask for room service, though, insignificant portions for high prices. Even breakfast in the room is the same price as the restaurante and offers very poor options.

Room Tip: our room in the second floor had no view, maybe in higher floors.

Dear Guest,

We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful stay with us at Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese.

Indeed we are centrally located yet on the quiet Via Lombardia street which is an asset after a busy day of business or shopping in Rome.

We genuinely look after all our guests included children and love to indulge them! We welcome children as "Little Principes" and we do it in a genuine way!

Moreover, the Executive Chef and I were very proud to hear that you have had a great food experience at our panoramic restaurant La Terrasse Cuisine & Lounge with breathtaking view over the "Eternal City".

Concerning the room service, kindly allow me to mention that we have aligned our offering to other five star hotels in the area. Nevertheless please rest assured that I have taken note of your comments and will review these with the F&B Director.

Than you again for your comments and we then look forward to welcoming you together with your family.

Best regards.

We stayed here for 4 nights for sightseeing in rome. The location of the hotel is very nice since it is not in the busy city center directly but within walking distance to most attractions. However, you need of course some will to walk a little. Especially the park close to the Hotel were you can reach the spanish steps directly we found especially nice.
Besides the good location you should also go to the restaurant at the rooftop. We've only been for coffee there so we can't judge the food, however, it is mainly about the stunning view over Rome which is really great (also the coffee is super, but this generally the case in Italy;-)
The negative side is that beides the fact that the room is already very expensive they charge you for almost everything. Most disappointing to me was that they said on their website that there is free Internet (WLAN). However, you only get an extremely slow (useless) connenction for free and have to pay a lot for a useful connection (this was especially problematic for me since I had to do some officework from there). As in most Sofitels the breakfast is also not included. The rooms were nice but relatively small (standard room). All in all I think I would go for another hotel when I comeback to rome, since it just not worth this much money.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback and taking time to post your comments.

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location and the stunning view over the "Eternal City" from our panoramic Restaurant and Bar.

We are sorry however to hear that the internet service was not to your full satisfaction. Free internet access is indeed available until 256 kps.

Kindly allow me to mention that we have aligned our offering to other five star hotels in the area. Nevertheless please rest assured that we do take all comments seriously and appreciate all the feedback we can get.

Again, thank you for the comments which will help us in our ongoing efforts to improve our service.

Next time you are at Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese, please experience lunch or dinner at our restaurant at La Terrasse Cuisine & Lounge . Our Executive Chef prouds himself in serving only the freshiest seasonal products on the market.

We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again.

Best regards.

Location of hotel in nice, quiet neighbourhood is a plus. Staff is courteous, cordial, obliging and helpful at all times. Hotel exudes a quiet elegance, but is not stuffy, but no doubt is prestigious. Room service was prompt and food was delightful. Easy walking distance to Spanish Steps and via Veneto. Doormen assisted in calling cabs and explaining to cab drivers exactly where you wanted to go. Concierge was very helpful in making stay enjoyable, recommending and reserving restaurants and the like. Rooftop restaurant/bar, with both inside/enclosed and outdoor seating, has expansive views of the entire City of Rome. This was our third time at this Sofitel and it has only gotten better with each visit. Will certainly return again on our next trip to Rome! Great job, Sofitel!

My criteria for choosing a hotel in Rome was a. adjoining rooms for my teens and b. a roof top bar. Sofitel had both and their correspondence with me regarding the adjoining room thing was prompt, courteous and friendly. Location is about 2 blocks behind the Spanish Steps. Our rooms had views of the gardens. Sofitels are mature hotels. Only 100 rooms, very modern and very professional. Never a line for the concierge, never an issue to get a table at breakfast or the roof top bar, only friendly smiles from the doormen. Rooms are small, especially the bathrooms but well out-fitted. We Americans are just use to super-size accomodations which don't really exist in much of Europe. One thing to consider is that the beds are fulls or queens, not kings. They do have featherbeds, however, which were dreamy! An added bonus to this hotel is that breakfast is optional. Many hotels build in the 30 Euros per person for breakfast. We don't eat much in the morning and aren't particularly fond of European breakfast food so I was thrilled to be able to just order coffee and cereal or yogurt. Additionally several of the days we had to leave for our tours very early and grabbing a free danish and coffee was just perfect. All in all, this is a lovely hotel with terrific, friendly staff.

Exhausted after an overnight flight, the accommodating staff provided our room hours before check in time. We enjoyed breakfast and a really good expresso in their restaurant while our room was being prepared. Our room was not huge, but it was well appointed and spacious enough (and I can get very cranky about small rooms) and we had a direct view of the Villa Borghese. We were close enough that I was actually concerned that the folks at the Villa -- and their dog -- might be a noise problem, but no such problem at all. The roof top lounge was a delightful place to relax for a bit, and the neighborhood was an easy walk from many of the things we'd come to Rome to see.
