We got our reservation through COSTCO, and we were not sure how well this hotel will meet our expectations? We wanted to be close to the Center of Rome, yet far from busy and crowded streets. The location turned out to be very convenient. While we did not have much time to research this choice, we were pleasantly surprised by everything we experienced in two stays totaling 5 nights. The staff were friendly and cooperative. The room was in excellent conditions. Hermes supplies gave the bathroom a special luxury feel, along with very inviting fresh bathrobes and towels. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a wide selection of fruits, pastries, cereals, cold cuts and smoked salmon. The only drawback I found in their breakfast is that they served it in the basement. I wished they had served it in their roof restaurant! They have a magnificent panoramic view of Rome with many Domes, including St Peter's Basilica. Wi-Fi service came free with the room. I would highly recommend this hotel to family, friends and colleagues

Room Tip: We had 407 and 506. They faced a park with pine trees.

the hotel is located just a few minutes walk away from the Spanish steps, very easy to get around, close to most tourist places. The staff is friendly enough. Breakfast was served in the basement. Would have liked some fresh air, at the very least few windows to look out onto the street. nevertheless the breakfast was more than decent, had many healthy options, I especially loved their fruit counter with items like peach cake with fresh peaches.
the room size is a deterrent. We had a room facing the backyard of an old building! the room itself was a little too dingy and the furnishings weren't to my taste. the Bathroom is not very small, but on the smaller side and the tub not very convenient.
The bed though was divine and very comfortable.
the walls are thin, you can hear people in the corridor very clearly.
overall a decent option especially if you don't want to spend that much time in your hotel room. Its perfect, if all you want to do is sleep in a comfortable bed and eat a filling breakfast before heading out.

Hi.. I must tell you the 2 days stay was great. It's a great location in the city to be. The hotel staff impress time & again with impeccable service. They upgraded me to villa borghese suite & felt flattered. Had requested Karine , the la terrasse manager for some special arrangements to celebrate our honeymoon in the la terrasse lounge & they were on it right away. From the check-in to check-out it was excellent.

Thank you Sofitel for an amazing first night of our honeymoon vacation! The stylish, clean and quiet room was perfection. The Hermes bath products and complimentary bottle of prosecco was divine. The hand written congratulations note written by the hotel management was truly above and beyond!

I chose this hotel for the last night of our holiday before commencing the 36 hr journey home and it met all our requirements for a comfortable night. The staff were polite, helpful and efficient, the hotel was well located for us to walk around the city and the view from the roof top lounge on a perfect night was spectacular!
