We had a deluxe room which was very nice, the bar was not available during our stay as they had a conference in the room.
The breakfast was typical continental with cereals and fruit etc, the sausage and bacon were not very appetising to look at so never tasted them.
If you look up the hill from the entrance about 50m there is a little supermarket that do a very nice red wine for 3 euro for a litre bottle - very nice too ( very small bottle in hotel were 4.5 euros.)

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room that was spacious with a balcony this was nice, front facing with lots of room.

We stayed with our two children for two nights and booked a single room (a late booking). Normally, we'd expect it to be a little cramped, but we were provided with a corner suite which was spacious and well appointed. We also had a balcony which was great.

Bathroom was very good, our experience of Italian bathrooms hasn't been brilliant - most are too small.

breakfast is served in a smallish room and is self service - a good selection ad the friendly staff will bring espressos etc as required.

Overall, staff were very helpful and attentive. The free shuttle to the centre is good and almost essential given that the hotel is located slightly off the beaten track (though in a quiet area as a result).

We'd certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a suite - a bit more expensive, but some have balconies

We stayed at The Duke Hotel in Rome for a three day weekend. Hotel Stars in Italy are very often difficult to understand by the well traveled person I think I am ... But the Duke is a 4 star hotel. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The room we had (412) was cosy (though a big person could have a little difficulty in the beautifully tiled bathroom). Breakfast is brunch styled, with prosecco, pastries, cold cuts, cheese and the rest.
Now, here is for the "but", which I think explains the rates of this hotel, which are lower than other 4 star hotels in Rome: location! The hotel is in a (very nice) residential area, North of Villa Borghese.
Forget about public transportation! I took the metro out of Central Station, and the a train, it took a looong time, and upon arriving at Euclide train station, we had to walk slightly uphill for 15 minutes.
However, it must be said thatvthe hotel provides a shuttle service that takes you in 10 minutes acrosss the green park of Villa Borghèse to one of its gates, next to Fumino metro station, and Piazza del Popolo. From there, buses and metro are available.
Overall, we had a nice stay, the hotel is quiet (remember, it is in a sidentia area), clean, cosy, and welcoming..

Stayed at the Duke Hotel for 2 nights in May although it should have been for three nights. On arrival we were informed that they had overbooked 7 rooms and moved us to another hotel which was nowhere near the same standard. We were extremely cross to and disappointed to say the least. Thank god for British Airways who we had booked the package with who sorted things out very prompty and we returned the next day. Once we had returned the hotel went out of their way to make up for their mistake by upgrading us, giving us a free meal in the Restaurant and champagne in our room. The robes and slippers were a lovely touch as our feet were very tired at the end of the day. Breakfast was first class huge choice with hot and cold food, and lots of fresh fruit. Evening meal was ok but found the restaurant a little stuffy in the evening. The hotel itself was lovely, I could not fault it, they even put on free tea and coffee and the foyer for guests, worth noting as there is no kettle in the room. We had a room on the 5th floor with a balcony and everything was perfect. Our only disappointment was not to have all our stay at the Duke. Rome was fantastic, we were going to get a tour bus for two days but there was a hug demonstration on so the buses were not running that morning so we decided to walk everywhere which was a real bonus as where ever you walked there was something to see. The shuttle drops you off about 7 minutes away and if you want a taxi back it only costs 8 euro. Walk to the Vatican from the drop off point is around 30 minutes but a very pleasant walk with shops and cafes on the way down. Avoid sundays as the vatican is closed. Would totally recommend Rome and the Duke Hotel. Booked a taxi on line from the airport to the hotel which cost 45 euro which was well worth it as it is about a 40 minute drive. You can get a bus from the airport to the train station though for aorund 6 euro and then a bus to the area of the hotel. We got the bus for free as we didnt realise you had to buy a ticket at a newsagent or tabac but I dont think it is expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony, upgrade to a superior or deluxe if you can.

Stayed here for 4 days just so we could go exploring rome .Brilliant is the only way to describe this place . The staff on Concierge really go out there way for you and nothing is to much. We had a Terrace on the 5th floor of the hotel (room 521) . Spacious and clean . The shuttle which the hotel put on to get into rome (FOR FREE!) Is excellent , just make sure you book if you want to get on in the morning , one morning we wanted to get into rome abit earlier and the mini bus was already full . But the staff were more than helpful in directing us to the metro . If enjoy walking rome is reachable in about a 30 min walk and its through some lovely parks past the modern art museum.
The food is excellent with a large choice for breakfast (in the form of a buffet) - Dinner in the evening is just as nice and the waiters / waitresses all brilliant.
GOOD - the food , the room , the service
BAD - Nothing that stands out
Would i stay here again ....YES ...
