Very nice hotel, nicely decorated, comfy beds, black and noise proof shutters were great! wonderful choice at breakfast, including cooked, great location, helpful, friendly staff. Great value! We walked everywhere from here.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building where the rooms are recently refurbished.

We stayed in this hotel for three days prior to departing on a cruise from Civitavecchia. It was a reasonable value (with the best rate found booking directly through the hotel). It was walking distance to Vatican City, and accessible to the rest of the city through the Metro station close by. The service at the hotel (especially the concierge and front desk) was great - very helpful in recommendations for transportation. The breakfast was enjoyable, and the rooms were well appointed and somewhat large by European standards. It was a good value for our short stay, and we have recommended the property to friends visiting Rome since!

I would recommend this hotel if you are travelling and have Vatican as your main destination or are simply looking for a hotel that is still within walking distance to the main attractions but is away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. It is on the side of the river where the Vatican is located and although still 20 minutes away the journey is quite entertaining because you pass through a lot of shops and cafes. The hotel is quite accessible and is 2 minutes away from the metro (Lepanto) and about 5 minutes away from Piazza Navona--right across the bridge.

Also, contrary to what has been said, we were actually quite surprised at how big the rooms we got were.

Visited this hotel in 2012, beat my expectation i booked it not knowing what to expect however for 3 ladies on a city break it made the perfect base. It was very close to the Vatican which was about a fifteen minute walk. If you crossed the river the opposite direction for ten mins oyu were in the Piazza Navona, which is beautiful. The city itself has so much to offer and surprisingly all within walking distance. Would recommend a visit to this hotel for the culture and class it has to offer.

The Good...

- quiet location
- close to Piazza del Popolo - about 2.5 km away from the Vatican, but it's a pleasant walk along the Tiber
- friendly front desk staff
- clean rooms
- EXCELLENT breakfasts

the Bad...

- cheapest rate = very small room even by European standards
- Internet connection provided in room is very spotty
- room requires a card for the electrical lights and the receptacles to work, which means if you want to recharge the batteries for your electronic goods like the camera battery or the laptop, you have to leave the lights on as you try to sleep.
- face cloth provided in the washroom is a small table cloth - needs proper towel(s).

Would I stay there again?

Yes, but I would upgrade to a larger room by paying more money. Maybe their receptacles work without the silly card as well...?

Room Tip: Don't go for the cheapest room as I did - choose larger room at a slightly higher rate
