“A Small Hotel That Aims To Please.”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

We stayed in this hotel between 4-10th October. The staff are a pleasure to speak to. Nothing is too much trouble. Our room on the front was clean and well furnished. The double glazing was excellent at shutting out the noise of traffic on this busy street. However, if you like to sleep with the window open, ask for a room overlooking the courtyard at the back.
The bathroom was small but well designed and we had a shower, no bath. There was a bidet however.
Breakfast was typically continental. There were sausages and boiled eggs available also. On the two days when the hotel was full, there were not enough tables for all at breakfast time.
The busy road has made the outside of the hotel a little dingy. The three flags on the balcony could also do with a wash. But this is just one of the problems owners of property on main roads face the world over.
I have already recommended this hotel to family and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Well Done The Amalfi!

Room Tip: For fresh air while you sleep, choose a room at the back. The front rooms overlook a very busy road.

My husband and I have just come back from a four night stay at the Amalfi in Rome. It was a great little hotel, very clean and well placed for central Rome and all the sites.

The breakfast buffet had lots of choice. The hotel was great value The staff were very helpful and friendly.

I would thoroughly recommend this to hotel to anyone visiting Rome.

Rome itself was amazing. If you also get the opportunity go to Pompeii which is also a fascinating place to visit. Go on the tours from Geen Line - the staff will book them for you. We went on the classsical and Imperial Rome trips. Be prepard for great deal of walking.

Stayed at Amalfi Hotel 1st- 4th October on a Rome city break. We arrived by train from Fuimincino airport and found the hotel a 5 minute walk from Termini Station (just head for Santa Maria Maggiore). The staff are friendly, pointing out places of interest on a city map and advising on places to eat. Our room at the front of the hotel was ideal for a city break, cleaned daily and had a good shower within the compact bathroom. Although the front of the hotel was a little noisy, it did not prevent us sleeping at night. The breakfast was typical Italian with cooked meats, cheese, cakes etc. We found a couple of decent restaurants and bars close by and were able to walk to all the main places of interest from here. We would recommend for anyone visiting Rome.

Very impressed with this friendly, family run hotel. Well situated, good value and very clean. 5 minute walk from Termini. I had a few queries before we arrived - emailed the hotel and couldn't believe how quickly and efficiently they responded. They also emailed me useful information before we set off. All of the staff were very pleasant but I must give a special mention to the breakfast lady - a real asset to the hotel! Room very nice, a larger bathroom would have been nice but this is the norm and was perfectly adequate.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 4th floor at the front. It had a double bed plus a single bed in an adjoining p...

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in September 2013. The best thing about the hotel is the location. We found lots of places to eat, shopping, etc really close by. Colosseum was just a 10 min walk. Since the hotel is so close to the train station, taking subways was also fast and easy. The rooms are a bit small, which is expected for a centrally located hotel. But everything was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was really great, lot of options to chose from. The coffee was the best. I would recommend the hotel to friends and would stay there again myself.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 422, I believe. It was comfortable for 2 adults and a child.

Stayed 3 nights at the end of September 2013 in the Amalfi Hotel, very central, close to the train station and a very short distance to several restaurants and bars. Room was very well appointed and clean, reasonable size with air con. All staff were very helpful and pleasant especially the reception staff giving information regarding tours etc. Breakfast was pleasant with a good choice of food, special mention must go to the woman who served us although our languages were not compatible we were able to communicate in a cheerful smiley way. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is a great little family run hotel. It's right in the centre of Rome and only ten minutes walk from train and metro. But you can walk just about anywhere from here - Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain. It's surrounded by great places to eat (try Café Santa Maria Maggiore round the corner). Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and welcoming and breakfast was served by a delightful little lady who treated us as if we were her family. I could not recommend this hotel more highly.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front give a wonderful experience of Roman bustle and noise but you can close the shutt...
