This hotel is in a great location if like us, you're only staying for a few nights. We stayed here for the last leg of our honeymoon in Italy before we made our way to sardinia. It was within a 10 minute walk to the coliseum and various other churches and had metro stations nearby (metro is so easy to use and quick!)
The reception staff are all lovely and very helpful- the young man highlighted where everything was on a map when we first got there as it was our first visit to rome. The lady who cleans and does the breakfast is wonderful! She's so funny and friendly!
The area the hotel is in is not great so we'd defiantly recommend you go further a field to eat etc
The rooms are very small and not sound proof (we had a very noisy family next door) but it didn't bother us too much as we weren't there long enough.
Now the only issue we had was the bed felt damp. On our first night we were so hot and tired we put it down to being hot and sticky but the 2nd night it defiantly wasn't that- it was damp. We asked for some new bed sheets and we were given promptly- bed felt a lot better but could feel the damp slowly creeping back. I personally hate damp- had it before and can't stand it- If we were staying more than 2 nights I may have asked
to move but as we had 1 night left we didn't bother. We had room 209- I don't know if its just this room but if you feel damp say so sooner and switch rooms !

Dear guest,

Thankyou for your review.

We're happy that you liked our staff.

We want only to stress that the room that you had is a normal size room (by law).
If you need to have an higher level maybe you had to book our junior suite.
Obviously the price would be much higher. Aniway just to be more clear photos of the room 209 are attached in the review of the 26/12/2010 photo n 48-49-50-51.

I know that often is question of expectation but expectation should be connected with the price paid considering the location. We re in the hearth Rome with view on one of the most amazing church in the world and this period is low season.

We will investigate further about the 'damp' bed even if is the first time we heard something similar. We always try to solve problems you tell us, so the next time if you will decide to came back everything will be ok. If in the future you will came in low season as this year we suggest to book our junior suite (in low season - january, february, july, august, november, december we can offer a good deal).

Regards

We stayed here for 4 nights while exploring Rome. The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to Termini Station and an easy luggage-drag away.

The room was a bit on the small side perhaps, but perfectly clean with aircon, free wifi and a nice bathroom. The staff were very obliging and helpful. There is a small lift for accessing the upper floors with heavy luggage.

The Colosseum is within walking distance, as are other Rome sites, and for those further afield like the Vatican, St Peter's Square etc it's an easy matter to catch the underground from Termini (but watch your wallets)

There's also many restaurants near the hotel, we particularly liked La Forchetta D'Oro, but there is loads of choice. Great base for exploring Rome.

My husband and I stayed at Amalfi hotel for 1 night on transit through Rome. Hotel Amalfi is in a fantastic location and easy walking distance to Termini (even dragging luggage). There are lots of restaurant options close by.
Our room was clean and it was a nice surprise to have a bath (albeit very small). We were on the top floor and right near the lift, but for 1 night this was fine.
Breakfast was a continental offering with boiled eggs and sausages for the cooked options.
This hotel was great value for its location.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Amalfi hotel. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Staff were very polite and helpful especially Natalie. Room was a bit small but this is to be expected at a city centre hotel. It was very comfy and although we were at the front we could not hear any traffic noise when the window was closed. Air conditioning worked well and towels were replaced regularly. No cooked breakfast but was perfectly adequate and you would not go hungry. All in all a super little hotel with a personal touch and cannot wait to go back.

My daughter and myself returned from Rome and this hotel yesterday evening. Hotel is rather quaint and little old fashioned BUT spotlessly clean in all aspects with very friendly, helpful staff in all areas. We looked out of our window to the left and there was Saint Maria Maggiore - 2 minutes walk from hotel. We had a first floor front bedroom, very noisy we found however as hotel located on busy main road. Breakfast was, we thought, a very good choice and selection. Hotel runs a Shuttle Bus back to airport which is 14 Euros per person, same as taking the termini train. No complaints whatsoever with regards to hotel and would return (to a back room) as so very convenient.Location is literally approx 12 minutes walk from Colosseum and is very convenient for a lot of other well known attractions.

We had breakfast in the Vatican organised by Dark Rome Tours and it was absolutely superb with just six of us being in the grounds before the immense grounds gathered. Tour guide was excellent, cannot recommend this company enough.

Also, we booked Rome Cabs and, albeit we were one hour late arriving, the driver was there displaying our name. Lovely air conditioned Mercedes as well.

Rome was amazing but very, very hot. Recommend taking a bottle of water around all day long and filling up at the numerous fountains.

Had some lovely meals, be aware, it is really quite expensive in Rome in all areas.

Room tip: Room in front on first floor which we had was very noisy as hotel located on busy main road.
