Pleasant stay and good location for sights and pizza

Review of Hotel Ripa Roma
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed May 7, 2017
I would rate the Roma as a 4 star hotel, it has much charm, it is tucked away in a quiet area, has a great bar with even better Happy Hour. Great friendly staff all around, very good breakfast that has all you are looking for to eat. Rooms are very nice size not small as most europe hotel rooms are. Would reccomend this to all looking for moderate priced hotel in an exciting city of Rome.

Stayed here this week, the hotel is in the trastevere district which I personally think is the best for restaurants, bars and sight seeing.. hote is close to metro and bus stops but we didn't use them as it was an ok walk into the main centre and then used hop on hop off bus... breakfast was nice, had plenty choice but ended up just having coffee and toast as wasn't to our taste... hotel is clean, modern and rooms are good size, quiet and have shutters to keep out the light... hair dryer in bathroom wasn't the best and you don't have use of an iron, only cleaning facilities which r a bit expensive when u just want to iron a shirt or dress.... would stay here again for location alone.. nice piazza and plenty restaurants just across the road..

The hotel location is near the Trastevere with lots of restaurants and bars. It is also close to sightseeing points

Staff at the reception is friendly and helpful

The hotel itself is not charming and is surely not everyones taste.

Room: the suit was huge. However there was a awful smell in the bathroom and also the room did not smell good. The toilet wasnt cleaned properly when checked in. On the second day it was better. There were ants in the room.

Bathroom: ony one huge tub but no shower. The shower head are plugged into the tub and cannot be hanged above your head..

Breakfast room is very loud and busy and more like a mass processing..

I was unsure on this hotel at first as there was hardly any reviews or ones saying it was run down. The hotel has recently refurbed the two top floors but the others are nice to. I was expecting one room like most hotels but was pleasantly surprised when there was a bedroom, living room, dining table, bathroom and balcony. Yes there is slight wear and tear when you look closely but the hotel is in a fab location. Whilst it is out the centre of Rome it is in Travestere which is close enough for everything whether walking, bus or tram ( which is more or less outside). The hotel is very helpful when it comes to requests before your stay and ensured our bed needs and party were all close together.

The breakfast was amazing. There was so much choice, cakes, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, pastries ( 3 crossiant towers - with all different kinds - my highlight) and hot food. I know this is what you expect but it is vast. Something for everyone.

There is free wifi throughout the hotel, use of a free ipad and computer/printer in the foyer ( if you forgot to print the return boarding pass).

i would stay here again if i was to return,

We were a family group with 2 rooms, for a significant birthday trip. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast provided was excellent with a mixture of foods to suit all tastes. For some of the group breakfast saw them through the day until the evening meal. Breakfast can get busy and need to wait a little while for a table.
if after 8.30. We were able to walk to a large majority of the "must see" Rome sites. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance for evening meal with a range of prices, avoid Sabatini, recommend alle fatter and meridionale. The hotel also provides a restaurant and bar on site. Air con in rooms, one room used this the other chose not to. Fridge and safe in room, no extra cost, beer, fruit juice and water provided in fridge ranging from two to four Euro extra. Although not central to main sites would recommend as value and services and would use again if in Rome. If adding a star rating would probably give a 3 to 4 but cannot fault my experience.i would return.

Room tip: No further information.
