Stayed at the Hotel Borromeo for two nights in September. The room I got was the one on the ground floor which was actually meant for a family so as far as space was concerned I had quite lots of it with two extra single beds to spare. Before I go into the hotel description itself I would like to start with Igor the bellhop. He was perhaps one of the most helpful person I met in my time in the whole of Europe. Kudos to him for all the assistance he rendered including carrying luggage without the use of the lifts as well as attempting to fix one of my co-travelers broken luggage.

With regards to the hotel itself I must say it was a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and well appointed. There was a mini bar with items that actually were not too badly priced. Wi Fi was available and actually lasts for 31 days once you logon with your credentials and breakfast is included in the stay. This was a nice addition as I was on a European tour and none of the hotels I visited before of after Borromeo offered breakfast unless paid for separately. The breakfast is offered on the 3rd floor rooftop terrace which offers a nice locale for eating.

The hotel is conveniently located within 10 mins walk from the Termini Station as well as a metro stop and the Colosseum and Roman Forum are also within close proximity. There are also quite a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance so finding lunch and dinner shouldn't be a problem.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to persons visiting Rome.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and could recommend it more highly.

It is in a terrific location to explore Rome, Termini station and the colloseum are both within spitting distance.

Great resteraunts near by (the ones in the back streets are much better) including an awesome Gelati shop a few doors down on the corner.

Rooms were clean, turn down service everyday and filling and plentiful breakfast daily.

If I had to find a fault it would be the double bed was in fact two singles pushed together but as they were both comfy singles it made no difference to me.

I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again in a heart beat!

This hotel is very well located for getting around Rome. We arrived from Ciampino airport by bus to Termini station and then it was only a 10 minute walk to the hotel. The metro station of Cavour is only a 5 minute walk - tickets €1.50 single- there are only 2 lines so lots of walking is required! The Colosseum a 10 minute walk. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was extremely clean, comfortable and benefitted from English speaking TV. Breakfast was very good and set us up for the day. In spite of location on a main road the triple glazing its out most of the noise. Jut a short walk round the area takes you to many small restaurants with reasonably priced menus or bars selling pizza slices and other cheap and tasty snacks. Also the local souvenir shops are much cheaper than those close to the attractions. book your tickets online before you go as much quicker-we hardly experienced any queues. The ice cream shop on the corner is reasonable and the portions huge. Overall a great first time in Rome and would definitely go back.

As many people have already said, this hotel is in a fantastic location! My boyfriend and I travelled from Fiumicino airport by the Terravision bus which dropped us off at the main train station (the Termini). We were pleased to discover it was only a short 10min walk to our hotel.

The reception staff was very helpful, providing a map and explaining all the best sights to see.

Our room itself was very small - although the bathroom was a good size - but generally it was very clean and comfortable which was all we asked for. During our three night stay in Rome we weren't in our room enough to warrant needing anything else.

We walked everywhere in Rome, apart from when we went to the Stadio Olimpico to watch a match, but even then the metro and buses were very easy to use and affordable.

The breakfast left a lot to be desired, but it appeared to be just one woman cooking and cleaning/preparing the tables. Simple coffee, pastries, scrambled egg and bacon, but it certainly did the job before heading out for the day.

A great little hotel in the best location. I'm sure we'd be back again on another visit to Rome!

This hotel is nice, it's within 15-20 minute walking distance to most attractions.
It's clean and in a safe neighborhood.
2 Negative aspects: (a)no parking but it's a good thing we were able to park where we rented the car. (b) if you will make reservations to a restaurant through the front desk, make sure you are in front of them and don't take their word for it. We made reservations to a restaurant and they said it's confirmed but when we got to the restaurant, they said there was no booking under our name or even under the hotel name, it's a good thing, they had a cancellation.

Nice hotel, but dont take it for the rooms, their small and need a bit of a touch up.

Take it for the location, which is smack in the middel of Rome, close to the Station, Colosseum and nearly everything else.

The breakfest buffe is also nice, and the service in the reception is very helpfull.

We're especially very thankfull to a man named Gigi, who helped retrieve lost bagage from the Airport.

We've stayed their twice, and would gladly recommend it.

We are a young couple from Denmark/Sweden who stayed here in late August this year. We can only say that we were extremely satisfied with the hotel: the receptionists are very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast buffet is brilliant. The rooms are clean and fine. The only thing that bothered us just a bit was the distance - but of course we knew that before booking. There's much life (especially in the evening) in the area around the Trevi Fountain and when walking it takes 35 minutes to get there. However, the metro is close to the hotel and is therefore always a solution if you're not too fond of walking. We'll definitely recommend our family and friends to stay at the Hotel Borromeo when in Rome!
