Room was immaculate, breakfast was very tasty. The hotelier Mauro was the nicest chap we met in Rome - pointed out on the map where to go and where to avoid, how to skip the queues, where to get the best pizza/pasta.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Hello there and thank you so much!

We are glad you wrote such a good review and for duty of honesty, we remind everyone that we are at the third floor of an ancient building not provided with a lift and that our Hotel has no sign outside.

Also, our brekfast is served in room only, every morning and does not include "international products".

For your next time in Rome, you will be more than welcome!!! Ciao!

Hotel de Monti is perfect if you're looking for a quiet, small, perfectly located hotel!Mauro offers a great personal service telling you were to go,where to eat etc. I would recommend getting the train to the termini in the centre from the airport and not getting a taxi,i used the gps on my phone to find the hotel but its pretty straight forward once you have the address. It only took us 10 mins walk with suitcases to get there. It was great to be located away from the hustle n bustle of the main streets to get the real feeling of rome. Mauro gave us the great advice to go get lost in rome because you come across quaint little restaurants/cafes and ruins! You get breakfast straight to your room which was an added bonus of not having to get up and get dressed for brekkie ha! without a doubt I would recommend this place to stay and when we return again we will definitely be staying here!

also eat in la carbonara a few streets away its amazing and not expensive!

What a "perfect" review!!! Thank you very much.

We have to remind to everyone is reading that our Hotel has no sign outside our door and the best way to reach us, is surely through our website where you can read all the detailed directions.

Considering your experience, we are glad to know that our suggestions are working good. Hotel De Monti is not the place you are looking for if you think to know Rome because you see the "Gladiator" by Russel Crowe or if you would like to eat a plastic Pizza in front of the Vatican City.

We will be always here in order to suggest everyone about the best way to REAL discover the best City in the world with all the little hidden secrets that characterize it.

Once you will be in Rome, do not hesitate to contact us again!

We had 2 weeks to make it from Dublin to Rome with 4 other cities in between. The Hotel De Monti definitely ended up being one of our favorite hotels. The service was exceptional, the room comfortable and cozy, and who doesn't love breakfast in bed every morning?! The location was perfect too. We walked to all the sights, and the train was conveniently located for getting to the airport. Thank you for making our stay great!

Hi there!

Thank you so much for writing this review, we really appreciate that!

All our rooms are at the third floor of an ancient building not provided with a lift, but all our beds are the best after a tired walking day!

Thanks as well for reminding everyone that our brekfast is delivered everyday in room, at the time you request the night before. It consists in all regional local products, brought in room every morning!

Once again, thank you very much and we look forward to meet you again!

This is a comfortable, clean hotel in a great old building, however, what distinguishes this place is the staff. Mauro and Alessandro were both great hosts and guides during our stay in Rome. It is their hospitality as well as their advice on what to see and where to eat that has justly earned them such a high rating on trip advisor.

This was the first stop of our European trip and our first time in Rome which was made all the more special by these two great hosts.

Always glad and happy to receive such a wonderful review!!!!!

Our policy, in general, is that we have been travellers before to work in a Hotel and we care a lot about our guests enojoying Rome at the best, including how to skip the biggest queues, hidden things to discover and, most important, the best places to eat!

We will never get tired to repeat that we are at the third floor of an ancient building without an elevator and our Hotel has no sign on the outside of the building, so read the map on our website in order to easily reach us.

Thanks again guys and we really hope to soon see you!

We have just returned from a week's stay in Rome. Hotel De Monti was an excellent base from which to explore the city, and Mauro was a wonderful host who obviously loves the city and enjoys helping people get the most out of their visit. His best tip: 'Get lost in the quiet side streets, away from the tourist attractions'.

As the website clearly states, the hotel is on the third floor of a building with no elevator, but the stairs are not bad, and Mauro will kindly help with any bags you have. The light breakfast was always served right on time, and there was a good choice of food to get us started on a long day of sightseeing.

The room was very clean and comfortable and a good size for two people (though ours was not as large as some of the pictures show).

The only negative (and the only reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars): I would echo some of the previous comments about noise. We were right next to the kitchen and the main door, and so could hear everyone coming in and out, and could hear noises from the kitchen in the morning. We were usually awake anyway, so it wasn't an issue, but for those who like an early night or want to sleep in, email the hotel and ask for a room at the far end of the hall. The windows are well insulated so there was very little noise from the street, but you're very much at the mercy of the other guests staying there because the walls and doors don't seem very thick. That said, however, I've stayed in more expensive places where internal noise is still a problem.

Overall, though, this is a great place to stay. We have already recommended it to a friend and would happily return. Thank you to Mauro and all who work at Hotel De Monti for making us feel so welcome!

Hi Kate and thank you so much for what you have written!

Once you reserve in Hotel De Monti, prepare to get lost! We are here to teach you how! It is definetely the best way to discover the city, in case someone would like to avoid the boring usual itineraries...

What we would like to remind every one (and thank you about reminding that we are at the third floor without elevator) is that our Hotel has no sing outside of the building and, in case, on our website there are all the directions in order to easily reach us.

Our rooms are inside an ancient builgind, as Monti, is the oldest district of Rome. All the windows in our rooms are double glassed, but Rome, everywhere, is still a caothic city in the morning and we always try to do our the best to let your stay be as better as we can.

We look forward to meet you again and always remember that, when you want, you will be more than welcome!!!!

We have just returned from our first visit to Rome where we had just over a day. Mauro was front of house at this wonderful little hotel, when we arrived and it's no exaggeration to say that his help on arrival, with maps, itinerary, special places to eat, and later checking bus timetables for airport connections, made the one day we had there fantastic. The location was ideal for packing lots in, the room excellent value for money including a good room service breakfast, promptly delivered at a time to suit you. All in all five star considerate and genuine service, that made our briefest of stays a real treat. Already planning our return. Thank you Mauro!

Hi there abd thank you very much for this wonderful review!

We are glad you appreciated our service and you know you will be more than welcome when you will decided to come in Rome!

We know that 2 days are not completely enough to visit all the city and we always do our best in order to explain you how to visit Rome at the best.

Our suggestion always get our guests tired but we count on our rooms to restore you all, as well if we are at the third floor of an ancient building not provided with a lift.

We hope to see you again and we wish you all the best!

After our trained pulled in at Roma Termini, we jumped in a cab en route to the Hotel De Monti. A few people have mentioned having some trouble trying to find the address – we had a similar experience. Our cabbie did maybe five or six ‘laps of honour’ around the block trying to suss out exactly where this place was, yelling at his GPS and making those brilliant, classic Italian hand gestures as he did so. We did eventually find the hotel and, to our cabbie’s credit, he didn’t charge us for all that extra driving around.

We were buzzed up and, despite arriving much earlier than expected, we were greeted warmly by a young chap by the name of Mauro. Every so often, when travelling, you meet someone who truly makes an impression. Someone memorable. Mauro is one of those people. He helped us cart our incredibly heavy luggage up the stairs, checked us in and then spent a good 20-30 minutes filling us in on all the tips and tricks to staying in Rome – where to eat, where not to eat, how to skip the queues to all the major attractions, and which hidden gems to make sure we took the time to visit.

Mauro knows Rome inside and out and his tips and advice as well as his upbeat and welcoming attitude just made our stay in Rome that much more enjoyable.

The hotel itself is small, but the rooms are spacious. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice and clean. Each night you fill out a form and select what you would like to have delivered for breakfast each morning and at what time. The food on offer is basic, but also fresh and tasty.

In terms of location, Hotel De Monti is in a great spot, set right in the heart of Rome. When we first stepped out for a wander, we were blown away when we managed to find ourselves standing at the foot of the Colosseum within 10 minutes of strolling.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s a clean, comfortable and pleasant stay in the heart of Rome at an affordable price. Game. Set. Match.

What a wonderful review!!!

Thanks a lot, mostly for saying the truth.

We remind every one that our rooms are at the third floor of an ancient building and we do not have an elevator. The Hotel has no sign outside, as we are in a hystorical palace and to better find out directions about how to reach us, we suggest to have a look to our website.

Rome is a jewel to dicover and we are always glad to explain you how to do so, as well in order to get lost that we consider one of the best way to enjoy the city!

The breakfast is served in room every day and consists in all local products coming from the region of Rome, without funny imitation of the continental breakfasts.

We look forward to meet you again!
