Beyond the reception and the breakfast and bar areas, you get the impression that this hotel could do with a bit of TLC. For example the corridor carpets have seen too many footsteps, are dirty and worn: the bathroom fittings have all lost their sparkle, and the mattress had a few too many dodgy springs! having said that, the Veneto is handily place for access to Borghese Park, local bus services to all major locations, and Spanish Steps are an easy walk. We took the hotel recommendation for La Lampada restaurant, and were amazed to find a good house wine at 7 Euros, with excellent dishes, and fish that was out of this world! Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. It is expensive booked direct but tour company package prices give good value.

Good all round experience. Good position for Villa Borghese and Trevi Fountain with some pleasant restaurants nearby. All facilities, including Wi-Fi access were fine although bed and pillows a little on the hard side. Quiet at night which is important in Rome. Breakfast was also of a good quality.

Room Tip: We were not at the front of the building which was probably an advantage for noise. Hotel is multi-storey but lifts are good.

The hotel is about three blocks from the U.S. Embassy, is surrounded by good eateries and not a far walk to major historical attractions. The hotel staff was easy to work with and helpful with making our travel confirmations. They offer shuttle service to the airport also. The free wi-fi was a great added service. The breakfast was a pretty simple continental buffet - no hot foods - but the cappuccinos were fantastic!

Our room didn't have a bath, just a small shower. An obese person would not fit in the shower! We had a bit of trouble with the AC in our room, it didn't want to stay on at night. The room was quiet though and cozy enough to come back to for bed. If all you plan to do is sleep and shower here, then it is a perfect hotel.

Hotel has a good location, was clean, away from the city noise, but close to sightseeing points. Spanish steps approx 12 min on foot, Villa Borghese museum nearby, Trevi fountain about 20 min on foot. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was on the 5th floor which was cozy and with enough space for two. Free WIFI in the entire hotel, but connection may vary from time to time. Just your average continental breakfast.

Myself & my wife spent 5 nights here earlier this month on honeymoon. My biggest complaint is that the Wi-Fi was non existant in our room (106) When I reported this to staff all I got was that it was working in the lobby! Crazy as they advertise free Wi-Fi through out the hotel. Breakfast buffet food was only ok, service was good, rooms were small though & location was only ok. The star rating system is a very bad guide i think when it comes to these (italian) hotels. I think its just a scam so they can charge you higher city taxes based on how many stars the hotel has! I never heard of a hotel without a restaurant before which this was! The stay overall was good but that was due to the sights of rome.

Dear mr Horgan,

thank you for the time of writing this review.

The Hotel Veneto Palace is a four star hotel by the classification of the italian tourism office.

Many 4 stars hotel around the world doesn't have any restaurant inside.

We have a bar where our guests can sit, have a drink and a snack.

The wi-fi connection is totally free of charge, and if you experienced a problem, we always find the solution. The answer "in the lobby is working" means that there are not problem with the main connection, but should be something on the floor or about your device.

I would like to thank you, because we will made a deep control on our system to check if there is any loss of signal
