We've just returned from a mini break to Rome and had the good fortune to book a room at this hotel. The staff were all wonderfully attentive and offered us advice on getting around the city and seeing the sights. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was well fitted and a good size. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel was very family friendly and our daughter (10) absolutely loved staying there.

We are a couple with a 10 year old child. Stayed in a double room with a sleeping sofa. It was a backyard room and it was great: no traffic noise. However, the window was permanently closed. There was stuffy and thick air in the room, regardless how the A/C was set.
There was no towel hanger at bathroom. All the towels were changed daily and we regard it as very unfriendly to the environment.
The breakfast was rather good, anyway, better than expected in the southern Europe. Though, poor quality orange juice made an unpleasant exception.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Veneto for 7 nights in August of '12 and were delighted. The hotel is central and provides a great walkable starting place to see Rome. The rooms are beautiful and have an old world feel. The breakfast and coffee bar were wonderful and the entire hotel staff was very attentive. We're planning a return trip in '14 and would stay here again!

We stayed four nights at the Hotel Veneto in Rome in January of this year. We thought it a great little hotel, the breakfast buffet was lovely in a nice little area. Good choice of pastries, cheeses, fruit, cereal, toast, jams, cold meat, flans, cake etc, coffee made for us. Flavia on reception was helpful and pleasant. Easy walking distance to hop on hop off bus or bus stop to train terminus. Easy walk around streets and alleys to Trevi, Spanish steps etc. Hotel might be a bit crowded in summer months?. However, perfect when we where there. One thing no tea/coffee making in bedroom so we had tea in bar one day which cost seven euro's, hotel is trying to get people to buy in bar but at those prices its not going to happen much. Had evening meal at local restaurant with meal deal from hotel which was a nice night. Would I stay there again yes I would. Just needs to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, as beside price when you have been out walking doing tourist thing all day, its nice to have a cuppa in privacy comfort of own room.

We booked a package with Marathon sports travel and the Hotel Veneto was included in our package. This is the first time I’ve stayed in this part of Rome, my last time was a little more central, but to be honest the Hotel Veneto is still pretty central, walk out of the hotel take and immediate left then right and after about 7-10 minutes at the end of the road left then right you will find yourself in the very heart of Rome, at the top of the Spanish steps, (apologies for sounding like a sat-nav here), but from the vista at the top of the Spanish steps it’s easy to find your way around Rome.
The hotel is clean and well presented, our room, a twin on the second floor, was spacious and included a Jacuzzi bath and the two beds. The bed’s were pretty firm, closer to padded benches than beds really, so we had to request extra pillows, but these requests were quickly accommodated and the staff were pleasant and helpful . We found the location quite good, the only disadvantage to the location was the lack of restaurants in the area, but really you will want to walk into the heart of Rome and eat there and sample a piece of everything. Rome is a walking city, you don’t want to drive and public transport can be a little confusing so we walked everywhere, but from the Hotel Veneto it was pretty easy.
The breakfast was good, standard croissants, breads and meats and some cereals and pastries and ok coffee, but its included and enough to get you out, and in our case off to the rugby. I have nothing really negative to say about the hotel, but a price warning, I wanted a coke and my dad wanted a tea in the hotel bar at night, the cost for both was just under €10, a little steep for a tea and coke, but none the less it was a hotel bar, so we got what we expected, but really this is about the only complaint. Other than this and the beds the location is good and I would consider this hotel again.

Room Tip: Just directions for the confused, The Hotel Veneto is pretty central, walk out of the hotel take and immediate left then right and after about 7-10 minutes at the end of the road left then right you will find yourself in the very heart of Rome, at the top of the Spanish steps.
