“Good average hotel”

Well located not right in the heart of the Trevi Fountain area, but an easy walk and away from the maddening tourist bustle. Hotel rooms are better in the pics than in reality, but adequate for the price taking into account that Rome is horrifically over priced! Staff are friendly. Internet access very limited even though meant to have Wifi in the room, it was fairly dodgy. And the gym wasn't available even though it is advertised as such, and there is no notation on their website that it is not available - annoying since this was a main reason I booked this hotel.

Dear guest,
We are very sorry that you didn't find the gym available during your stay at the Hotel Veneto Palace.
We had some renewing going on in the hotel, and unfortunately we had to close the gym for security reasons.
Concerning the wi-fi issue, we are setting-up a new connection, and all the rooms will have the same standard of connection.
Thanking you for your time, we hope to have as our guest in the future

we arrived at about 8 am, but since check in is at 2 pm they stored our luggage and we went out and about in rome. the first thing we noticed was the hotel's proximity to beautiful and famous attractions in rome. while the hotel itself appears to be in a quiet area, the piazza barberini was less than a 10 minute walk away, as was the piazza della republica, just beyond which are the national museum and the diocletian baths. the church of santa maria della vittoria was about 5 minutes away. so this hotel definitely gets a 10 for location. the front desk staff were courteous enough and very helpful when we were looking for directions and tips on taxis and such. they were also very efficient about getting us a taxi at 6 am when we were leaving. we didn't realize they actually have 24 hour room service, and they also had a very reasonable minibar (mini bottle of prosecco 3 euro). the room was small but normal by rome standards i'm sure; only complaint was our view was of a ventilation system between our building and the next. but we were barely in the room to enjoy the view anyways so that wasn't a big deal. the bathroom was also small but had the necessary amenities as well as bidet. the shower had jets which allowed for a relaxing shower/massage after a long day walking around in rome! there was an in-room safe which was also useful. I've read some reviews of hotels not having many power outlets; this one had plenty. also when we went (october) it was quite hot, but the airconditioning was adequate. We did notice that although it was a "double" room, the bed was 2 twin beds put together - but this was not too uncomfortable for us and no one fell through the crack in between the beds. while the bed was not soft by any means, I think the firmness was actually quite comfortable as we were sore each night from walking miles in rome, and woke up well rested and pain free.
the breakfast was included and was more than adequate, with 3-4 types of bread, 2-3 types of cold cut meats, and cheese, and some other things like sweet croissants, marmalades, cereals, juices etc. they provided a variety of caffeinated beverages also included (cappucino, tea, etc) and also still and sparkling water. everything was quite good, service was quick and friendly. one morning we decided to "splurge" and ordered omelettes, which were very large and filling, and also quite good, and only 4.5 euro.
All in all our stay was very good and we enjoyed it.

Room Tip: probably would be better to have a room on a higher floor.

This hotel is convenient to so many places in Rome, including the Spanish Steps and Tivoli Fountain. It is very clean with comfortable beds and helpful staff. The complimentary breakfast was tasty and the breakfast tables large enough to linger and plan for the day's activities.

I loved this hotel, apart from the noisy plumbing in our room # 404. We were in the section behind the front hotel as there are two parts to this hotel. Luca at reception was excellent and very helpful. The hotel is nearby most sites especially the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps. We stayed here two nights and there were two tour buses parked at the front,so I feel we were given what was available after the tour group choice. The plumbing in our room was so noisy that it sounded like the water was continually running,so we didn't get much sleep at all and ended up with a cold shower in the morning as there was no hot water!! We were here in October 2012 and we also had no view from our small window,it looked into a dirty courtyard. If I stay here again I would request to stay at the front hotel, they had a roof top bar area which I tried to access but it was closed being Sunday!! Apart from that, it is in a handy location and as we had to catch an early flight they even gave us breakfast to takeaway with us,which I thought was a nice gesture and you also get free wifi in your room if you request it.

Had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel October 6, 2012. The location was ideal and within walking distance of the spanish Steps and Tivoli Fountain.
Very charming, old world decor. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast was included and was sufficient.
Would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: We were given the opportunity of looking at 3 rooms before deciding on the one we liked the best.

This hotel is close to the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese (which by the way don't miss as it has amazing collection of art), and yet extremely walkable to the colosseum/Forum on a beautiful day. You can also catch the Barberini subway as well which is only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. As for restaurants, for dinner we had a wonderful at La Lampada which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Just ask them to make reservations as even in October these places fill up fast as they are also enjoyed by the locals. Our favorite our most favorite dinners was at Piccolo Buco Via del lavatory n. 91. A mother and son restaurant with delicious food and kind, excellent service. It is by the Trevi fountain which is even more beautiful at night. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Roma. I had been here many years ago on a bus tour and only saw the sights from the main streets such as Corso, but I truly encourage you to walk the city as it is truly a larger version of Florence with its narrow alley ways and spectacular views waiting for you around every corner. When you are across the Tiber to visit the Vatican be sure not to miss Trastevere, one of the older parts of the city filled with beautiful pza, cafes and churches. And have the best pizza in Roma at Dar Poeta Vicolo Bologna 45 Trastevere...not to be missed but arrive early as it fills up fast!

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor inside room and it was very quite and surprisingly large for a city hotel...

This hotel is located in a business oriented zone. All stores are closed past six, so don't forget to buy things you might need before you go to he hotel. You really have to walk to get to the Trevi Fountain for example. Take into account that the metro system is quite small and the bus network can be confusing I you don't know the city.
The hotel is a four-star type but it has many problems. Staff is not kind. They made us wait one hour to give us out room. Later, we realized that they wanted to show that same room to another person. My wife was sick and she wasn't even offered a cup of tea. The next night, at 10, I asked for a spoon and I was told there was no kitchen service at night, I think that's not right for a 4-star hotel that names itself "palace".
Hotel rooms are just fine. I would have rated it better I it wasn't for the staff. The hotel website announces Spa facilities, but by the the time we went there the Spa was closed due to maintenance.
Just a little detail. We were to people but they gave us just one room key. We asked for a second card and it was denied.
