We made an effort to come here for gelato on a hot Roman night. Stood in a short line and made our selections. The chocolate was indeed quite good, but the other flavors-- pistachio and hazelnut, were nothing special, actually tasted like they came from the same central batch, with minor adjustments in flavors. Would not single this gelateria out as anything special.

Venchi has great variety and we did try a few combinations and all of them were superb. Given we were in Rome enjoying the peak summer with a 3 year old, Gelato was a daily mandate. Whenever we visited Venchi we were not disappointed. The staff suggest great combinations and were always pleasant. Tried the chocolates as well and they were nice.
Would definitely recommend .

We stumbled across this place and were drawn in by how posh it looked. The ice cream was really good and not too expensive either. Well worth a visit !

It doesn't matter how delicious the ice cream is at Venchi, it's not worth the appallingly rude attitude of their staff. Service can be hit & miss all over Rome but the staff at Venchi have rudeness down to a fine art. You'd think they were paying you to buy their goods. Italian labour laws can be the only reason at least some of them still have jobs. There's a lot of gelato shops in Rome, and almost all will have more pleasant staff.

We found this place by walking around the area, and we impressed by the cute & fancy decoration of the Gelateria. IceCreams options looked very tasty and the staff we quite nice. Hazelnuts ice creams options were the best one, just amazing! As they say il sapore del gelato ricco e tutto italiano!
