“All Poped out at the Vatican”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

WOW, in one simple word. Whether you've been before or it's your first visit to the Vatican, there's only one way to do it and it's with the Vatican Tour Company. Why? Here's why:

Top professional administration - I booked this tour in advance from the UK. It was seemless and I had regular contact with the team and a personal greeting (and a bottle of water) on arrival.

We skipped ALL the queues - and boy, they were long. There is no way you'd be up to walking around the vastness of the Vatican if you'd queued two hours to get in!

Our guide, Luigi. What he didn't know about the Vatican, Rome, the Pope, the art work - you could write on a piece of ravioli. This guy has 3 brains, seriously. He knew EVERYTHING there is to know - my head is still spinning with all the interesting stuff he told us. Things you would walk past and not realise you were looking at. He was so passionate and knowledgeable, he blew my mind. Luigi gets the prize for the top tour guide EVER.

We booked a 3 hour tour - it lasted just over 4 hours - the information just kept coming. The Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St Paul's - they will not disappoint. If like me, you're not Catholic, fear not - you absolutely don't need to be Catholic to be totally awe inspired. St Paul's made my jaw drop and we both just stood there with tears.

So, if you do nothing else on your trip to Rome this company's tour is an absolute MUST. I will definitely recommend to all my friends and family. Thank you Antony and Luigi.

“Great Vatican Tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

I spent a week in Rome with my wife and son (13 yo). This is the only tour we did while in Rome, and it was worth it. When in Rome the Vatican and St Peter's are a must see. We had a group tour with Victoria for the Vatican Museum, Garden and Sistine Chapel. Our tour of St Peter's was private with Antony. We received e-mails recommending an afternoon tour, instead of morning, so we could see St Peter's (which would be occupied in the AM). Glad we made the change! There's so much to see in the Vatican, a tour helps focus on some highlights, get background information, and ask questions. Antony was great in the private tour, providing interesting stories and keeping my son interested (who is a history buff for his age). We could take the time to converse and engage with questions. We can definitely highly recommend the this tour! All three of us enjoyed it. It took about 3 hours in total, but like a good movie, the 3 hrs went by very fast.

When you book with us, we usually always include St Peter's Basilica, even if someone, such as yourselves booked a tour online via our website for Wednesdays; we mustn't forget that is the Papal audience day, by tradition, meaning the Basilica is out of bounds until late lunchtime. So we are happy you appreciated the adjustment for a better experience.
We enjoyed helping you make the most of your visit, but remember we only scratched the surface but next time you come perhaps we can delve into the secret world of the tombs below the church, the Etruscan museum within the Vatican (visited by less than 1% of visitors), and the newly opened Necropolis Triumphalis ( they call it little Pompeii ) that we are organising private tours to.
At your service from the eternal city,
Antony

“Vatican Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

My husband and I booked a small group tour with the Vatican Tour Company for February. I organized the tour months before online with Antony and all went smoothly. We were fortunate to be the only ones booked that day, so we had Anna, our tour guide, to ourselves. She was great! Very knowledgeable on Roman history, Vatican history, the artwork and the Catholic Church. I felt as though we had our own history teacher to guide us through the museum and St. Peters. I highly recommend the Vatican Tour Company for your Rome Holiday!

Hallo there E,
Yes you did organise everything a couple of months before and it can never be said enough that this is the best way to do things. This still the quiet season and of course less people everywhere makes for a better visit all around, especially when you enter 1 hour before the museum opens to the general public as you chose to do taking the VIP early morning tour that turned into Private :)
Anna is someone who loves her job and I am happy you had a good and instructive time with her.
Look forward to seeing you over here to do a Central Rome stroll of the Pantheon and Spanish steps, or some of the many made to measure tours we do. As they say in Rome, it takes two lifetimes to see it all! All the best, Antony

“Vatican Tour”

Antony was excellent in his communications with us during our long weekend break to Rome. We were originally booked to have a tour of the Vatican on Saturday but the cistine chapel was unexpectedly closed so Antony managed to rearrange the tour for us on Monday. The tour was very good and really made our visit to the Vatican extra special, we learnt some amazing history. We really enjoyed the hall of maps and not forgetting the cistine chapel. Would recommend to any visitors to Rome.

Thank you both! Yes the Sistine Chapel is also a place of worship, we must remember this, religious services are a priority, even if they very rarely disturb the smooth running of the museum's schedule (9.00am - 18.00pm, with the exception of our early morning tour before the museum opens to the general public...) I am happy it all worked out for the better. Our objective is to make the most of your visit here so that a "once in a lifetime experience" is organised to the full, we assume this responsibility. I am happy you enjoyed the stories and we look forward to seeing you back here in Rome, if you threw a coin in the Trevi fountain that is!

“Great tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

We were very lucky on the day - it was a quiet day to visit the Vatican City and we were first in the Sistine Chapel. It was just the two of us on the tour so it was very personal. Anna our guide was great, very knowledgeable. The meeting point was easy to find. A great experience.

Yes, well you had chosen our VIP Vatican Tour and so by doing this, if you don't mind getting up early as you did :) you get into the Museum before it opens to the general public, Of course, let us put into perspective the fact that you both had the added bonus of visiting at a quiet time of year too, whatever the case, by contacting us directly or booking directly on our website we make it our mission to get the best guides (In this case charming Anna) and make the most of each particular day. We can arrange small group tours but our speciality is Private and made to measure experiences in Italy. I was happy to see that you had both had a hearty breakfast which is a good idea before entering one of the largest Museums in the world, and not think about food when you finally enter the chapel alone... All the best from the eternal city,
Antony
