“A cafe with a view”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

This cafe is essentilly a glass box that is heated in the winter and cooled in the summer, however the best thing about it is the views from its terrace.

The main views are over the Roman Forum. You can see the Forum from other areas of the monument too, but at the cafe you can sit down and have a drink and a small bite to eat.

I simply had coffee there during a business trip but would return with my family on any further visit. The coffee was very good, but that can be said of most place in Italy, they are very good at coffee.

Well worth a visit if you are in town.

“Coffee with a view!”
Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

Shortly after scaling the steps and wandering around the whole building we came across this cafe. It wasnt exactly service with a smile but the coffee and food were good and there is a great view aswell. The best and most suprising thing about it was the price! In a place so thronged with tourists you would expect prices to be ranging from high to ridiculous but it was really quite reasonable! Stop off if in the area.

“Great view & coffee”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Great location, the view is excellent. Friendly staff, the espresso and marocchino were the best I had in whole Italy and it was also the cheapest (1 and 1,60 EUR). I definitely recommend this place.

“Tasty and it comes with the view!”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

It serves an excellent coffee, we also tried some focaccia sandwiches which were fresh and tasty. There are some pizzas, cakes, ice cream and wine available too. Surprisingly, for such great location, the prices are quite reasonable! An you just cannot beat the view! Unsurprisingly, it is quite busy, though!

“Nothing is a problem when on top of the world in Rome!”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

Was there in April on a sunny spring day, it took me for ever to climb those steps (following a sign that said lift) but when I got there it was worth every step! We spent 3 hours chatting and contemplating the magnificent views. We ordered the drink of the moment Aperol Spritz:

2 oz sparkling wine (prosecco or cava)
1.5 oz Aperol
splash of soda

Fill a cocktail glass with ice. Pour sparking wine first and then Aperol into the glass (add the Aperol second so it doesn't sink to the bottom), and then finish with splash of soda. Garnish with an orange slice.

On the way down I spoke to a lovely blue eyed guard who allowed me to use the lift to go down.
Italians are just so charming and nothing is a problem, what a way to live!
