The restaurant we intended to visit was closed, so we had to find something to eat on the hoof, so to speak. We had noticed it on the way into the centre in the morning, so thought we'd give it a try. Glad we did!
Its downstairs below a hotel, but not obviously connected to it.
Had more locals in than tourists, but was very friendly.
The patron didn't seem to know what was on "the daily specials" part of the menu, nor did it appear that his eyesight was that good. However, after questioning the menu with his staff, he gave our selections his approval, and we were treated to great inexpensive food.
At the end of the meal he gave us a choice of a free liqueur, and when he realised one of our party didn't drink, he went a got a clear spirit claiming, with a sly grin, it to be "minerlai". Reads really cheesy, but was very funny at the time.
