I visited this hotel on a recent business trip and it proved simply perfect. The room was spacious, perfectly formed providing for most of my needs. I would have loved a few more mirrors in the room for hairdressing etc…

The breakfast room was a bit of a disappointment. It is very dark and cramped. The food too is a little limited especially for more northern visitors. I would definitely like the hotel to lighten this room.

That said the staff were exemplary and very attentive. I was treated really well and I will return

Room Tip: Well I am always a light sleeper but I did in fact sleep on the second floor so no real issues to re...

Having read the reviews about "booking" problems, I was a little unsure how our pre cruise night would turn out. The hotel had been booked in the UK through Classic Collections, and I was imagining all sorts of phone calls to the UK in the event of a problem. We arrived on an early flight from the UK, and with CC's excellent transfer service arrived at the hotel early. Naturally our room was not ready.... never really expected it to be, but as we had a trip to the Vatican booked there was little concern about that. Whilst waiting to go on the trip another room became ready and we were safely ensconced in that. A room at the back with a courtyard view might not be everybody's cup of tea, but a night is only a night and we were out for most of the day anyway. The free wifi worked well and the front of house staff were very helpful when we needed to make contact for our transfer to the boat in the morning. Actually they could not have been more helpful.

I suspect that they give priority to their regular booking agents and only as an observation may not be as well organised as one might expect for a 4* hotel. Parking close by was a nightmare so not really one for the drivers in Italy, but its location was very good and access to a number of attractions close by. The staff were helpful with directions and helpful on our departure even though we had forgotten that local taxes are payable. Breakfast continental style was more than adequate, but not American style, so US travellers beware.

My advice to people attracted to this hotel is to use a regular travel agent and I should think there would be few problems. It may cost a little more but what price on peace of mind.

Room Tip: Book through an agent and be prepred to wait for your room

Wow! We have just returned from a 3 night stay in the beautiful Berg Luxury Hotel and have say the experience has been faultless from initial booking to check out. We looked at a couple of hotels at this price range and the Berg stood out a mile. It's not a huge hotel and if you're looking for traditional italian grand design then this perhaps isn't for you. If you prefer the modern, clean, italian chic then the Berg is a perfect choice.

The rates shown on the hotel's website are fair but many travel comparison sites give you better deals. Suspicious of using a comparison site to make a reservation however I emailed the hotel directly, and they were more than happy to honour the cheapest rate found online which in total ended up saving me around €200. Even better, I had explained that we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary in Rome and when we arrived, we had a free upgrade to a Junior Suite!

Location wise, again, perfect. The hotel is situated a short 5-10 minute walk from the Spanish Steps (great in the evening just to sit and chill), 5 minutes to the nearest Metro (and amazing Gelato cafe), and literally around the corner from the Hop-On Rome tour buses. Also around the hotels streets are some pretty little cafes but again, a 10 minute walk and you'll be wondering the local back streets, full of life and spoilt for choice in the number of superb restaurants.

Tip: Book directly with the hotel for peace of mind. You'll be surprised at their rates.
Tip for Rome in general: Book tickets for tourist hotspots online before you travel. We booked our Colosseum entry tickets and Vatican museum tickets online and skipped the long queues. We didn't bother with any of the tours and quite frankly, most of the people we saw who were part of a tour group actually looked extremely fed up. To be honest, if you're clever, there are so many tours in operation in the main tourist areas that you can overhear most of the guides talking anyway.

Also, the Trevi Fountain is currently undergoing a long 20 month restoration and is unfortunately mostly hidden by scaffolding.

Currently staying at this hotel and unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel.

When we arrived we were told that there had been a mix up with our booking and that they were putting us up in another hotel. This is obviously a regular trick they use according to the staff at the other hotel and also can be seen in other reviews.

As to the room itself it is unfortunately not luxury by normal standards as the shower does not work properly, the door is extremely temperamental, and the draws are shabby and broken.

The staff are friendly enough unless you want to speak to the manager where they then give you the run around, lie about the reasons your booking was mixed up, and are derogatory about you on the phone (As they assume you cannot understand them).

Such a shame as it looked great online but reality can ne a big difference.

This is a real good hotel , it's very modern and elegant in design with real large rooms and large bathrooms with real good air conditioning.
Comparing to other hotels in the same category and location in Rome , it's only a10 minutes walk to the Spanish steps and a10 minutes from the famous via vinito , I would definitely stay there when I come to Rome.
As for the price , it's considerably fear for hotels in the same area and with the same benefits.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: All the rooms are big and modern

This is a small boutique hotel in a great location. We were in Rome for one night before leaving on a cruise. Arrived at hotel around 9:30 am and our room was not ready yet but they held our luggage and we went out to explore. It was just a few blocks to the Spanish Steps and 2 blocks off the Via Veneto perfect for walking all over Rome. The room and bath were spacious, very clean and was very modern Italian.

There should be more hotels in Rome like this.

It is a small hotel, with good size rooms, very large and modern bathrooms, a decent on site breakfast, all at a reasonable cost. Not much staff, but the hotel doesn't need it.

It is hard to find, as there is only a very small sign on the front of the building and it sits mid-block. My taxi driver drove past twice before we spotted it. I like a fairly loud AC unit, to drown out other sounds. The AC here is ultra quiet, so nearby noises can be heard easily. The street does not get much traffic, so you won't hear scooters constantly, but outside noises will be heard if you are in the front of the hotel. Location is good. Close to Spanish steps and Via Veneto. Vila Borghese is just to the north for those who want to go for a run.
