“Try the Tagliolini Galilei”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2012

Stumlbed across the Galilei whilst wandering around looking for a restaurant. We both enjoyed our meal and was reasonably priced, €35 for 2 people for antipasto, primo, drinks and espresso to finish. Really enjoyed the Tagliolini Galilei. Recommended.

“Yummy pizza, okay service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2011

We went here after our hotel receptionist recommended this place to us and he was spot on for the 2nd time. (See my review on buoni amici for alternate place to eat). The service was okay, not too great. They led us into the basement level even though there were many tables free at the ground level and left us there for quite awhile. But once the food came, we forgot about everything else. Also, the place wasn't pricy, a good value for the tasty food.
We went here specifically to have pizza at the country where it was invented and we were not disappointed. The Italians make pizza with a thin crust with a bunch of topping piled on unlike here in the US where we have thick crusts and jumbo crusts etc. The flavor, the toppings were all delicious and it was a great ending for our last night in Rome.

“'Maybe the best pizza ever'--words out of the mouths of all 3 of us!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2011

We happened on this local restaurant as it was down the street from our rented apartment. It is not too far from the Colosseum, but not full of tourists. The cuisine is Roman, though we only ate there one night, and had three different pizzas, which I had avoided during most of our 19 day trip. The pizzas were delightfully different and excellent, being the thin crusted type with very fresh ingredients. I have since learned that this is a local restaurant with well more than a hundred years of serving local Roman food. I wish we could have returned to sample the non-pizza menu, which includes in house fresh pasta and other goodies. Easy walk from Manzoni metro stop and numberous bus routes.
