Tired of a two-day struggle to find a suitable accomodation for our planned trip to Rome, we finally decided for this hotel, trusting the positive reviews and photos.
The hotel is located on the eastern outskirts of the city but easily accesible from the city center as it is literally a 5-10 minutes´ walk away from the B line metro terminal station Rebibbia. The area is everything but attractive, mainly an industrial/commercial area, a bit of "middle of nowhere" but this was not disappointing for us as we were aware of this at the time we made our choice.
The hotel is a bit hidden and not really easy to find when you get out of the metro station so check the exact location on GoogleMaps. After leaving the metro station, simply turn right and cross the main road at MIDAS. You should see a red label bearing the hotel´s name and showing the way into a narrow street that goes downhill.
The hotel has a very friendly and cosy atmosphere, we received a warm welcome from the reception. We were given a WIFI pass, a map of the city plus a few tips regarding the main sights.
We stayed in room 27 (Standard type, I guess). Room was superb clean and comfortable, a bit small in size but fitted our needs perfectly. Air-conditioning (worked perfectly but we did not use it more than once), flat screen TV (italian programmmes only). We appreciated the safebox located in the wardrobe and mosquito nets in the room window (prefered to sleep with open window rather than using the air-co). The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom with shower, WC and bidet - just enough space, everything worked - no need to complain. WIFI connection a bit slow at times but functional and worked well for basic browsing and e-mails.
Breakfast service offered a surprisingly wide choice - fruit juice, yoghurt (3-5 different flavours), cornflakes, cheese, ham and REALLY EXCELLENT pastries! Hot drinks (tea or a variety of coffees) served from the very kind bar staff.
There is no restaurant within a comfortable walking distance around the place (at least we did not see any) but this was not a problem for us because we knew it and were having our dinner in a great restaurant at Trastevere.
According to one of the reviews, there should be a supermarket somewhere near the hotel but neither did we find it nor GoogleMaps has shown anything in the area.
All in all, we had a great time, the venue offers excellent value-for-money ratio and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who does not need to stay in the city center and who does not need shopping facilites and restaurants near the hotel.
