My wife and I spent three night last weekend at Deko Roma guest house. What an experience it was. Aside from the quality of the rooms, the cleanliness of the premises and the great location, in one of the best district of Rome, the owners Serena and Marco are truly the one making this experience unique. Upon arrival, after a 9 hour flight, we were greeted by Serena, she started off by offering a great Italian coffee and sat down with us for about a half hour. Serena provided us with information on Rome, where to go, what to see, what to eat etc. In short one of the warmest welcome you can get. She somewhat helped us planning our 3 days stay in Rome. She suggested restaurants that we eventually visited and trully enjoyed. During our stay each time you would walk in or out Serena and Marco always check with you if every thing was fine and making sure that you are satisfied with everything. The breakfeast served at the Deko Roma was well presented and very substaining for our long walks in Rome.

In short we felt like at home, it really felt like having an appartment in Rome. Again please remember this is a guess house at which you wont be just an other customer. We have new friends now in Rome.

The first thing I read are the bad reviews; I figure they will be the most honest reviews. In this case, while they may be technically right, they are very unfair.

Having stayed for two nights recently with my 84 year old father, after a whirlwind trip round 15 countries, Marko and Serena and their guest house was not only the best stay by far, but as the last stay on our trip they rounded off our trip perfectly. It's true they are not a hotel but to my mind that is a bonus. It's true also the lift is old, but it worked perfectly well for us. And yes they weren't on the premises 24 hours a day, but that was no problem and they supplied a phone number for emergencies.

Nothing was too much trouble and they were genuine in their approach, a far cry from the 'service' at most places.

The price is very reasonable - make the comparisons - but if you want the anonymity of a hotel and enjoy being treated as just another person by someone who really doesn't give a damn as long as you tip, go elsewhere.

I'm a budget traveller who enjoys being spoiled, I'm no tycoon and I'm unimpressed by luxury. For me the service I experienced was the best I've had in all my years of travel - which has encompassed 55 countries and places from 5 star hotels to shacks with holes in the roof.

I'd recommend them without question; I'm only afraid that success will take them places I can no longer afford.

And I fell instantly in love with Tania, but that's another story.

Thank you Marko for a wonderful stay and your welcoming attitude and thank you Serena for all your advice and the parting gift. I will be back.

We stayed at Deko Roma on the occasion of my husband's 65th birthday and we were delighted that we had chosen them. Their passion for what they do and for their lovely small boutique hotel is apparent in everything they do. NOTHING is too much trouble - they booked a restaurant for dinner in the evening of my husband's birthday, having been given broad guidance from us - what a wonderful choice they made! We had one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere at PierLuigi's and they made sure the restaurant knew it was a special occasion too so we had very special treatment.

From our arrival to our departure, Marco and Serena made suggestions, offered help, booked cars, restaurants and tickets for the theatre for us - they could not have done more and everything done with a smile and an eagerness to show us their city and make us comfortable in their hotel which is a little gem, it really is. My husband and I have spent many years living abroad and we have travelled very extensively all over the world, on business and leisure, staying in many different styles of venue from five star hotels to tents up in the Himalayas. If you want personal service with a genuine care for your needs and wishes, you could stay in none better than Deko Roma whilst in Rome.

We wish Marcos and Serena all the luck in the world in their venture - they certainly deserve it. And thanks again, both of you, for a very special few days.

We chose Deko Rome for our first visit to Rome based on the outstanding reviews on Trip Advisor. We had originally booked with another boutique hotel but changed our reservation after reading all the great reviews and checking out the neighborhood where Deko is located. We are certainly glad we made the switch. The place was outstanding. The hosts were even more outstanding. Marco, Serena, and Monica are among the most pleasant hosts/hoteliers we have ever experienced. We felt more at home at this hotel than we have at many B and B's throughout our travelers both in the US and Europe. As soon as we arrived, Marco made us feel welcome and gave us a drink and an orientation guide to Rome and its restaurants which quickly dispelled any first visit anxiety. Based on our later experiences, his recommendations were right on, especially his advice about getting around Rome and Rome restaurants. We had one of the best meals on our trip at the great little restaurant recommended by both Marco and Serena----Casa Copelle. Our room was clean, modern, and large by European standards. We do not like stuffy or frilly hotel rooms, and our room at Deko was the antithesis of such rooms. Both the room and the bath were minimalist chic. The breakfasts each morning prepared by either Marco, Serena, or Monica were generous and interesting with fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, chocolates, pastries, and cold cuts. The coffee, of course, was great.
If we return to Rome, we will definitely stay at Deko Rome again. The place is simply that good in a city with over 1,200 hotels. Be sure to try Casa Copelle for lunch or dinner.

My husband and I stayed at Deko Rome for 2 nights in late October, 2011, as everyone said, Marco and Serena are the greatest host. know how to treat their guests. Marco emailed me a couple weeks before our arrival, offering to arrange to have a private car pick us up from the airport . They were also most gracious in providing us something to drink when we first arrived, Marco and Serena shared all their favorite restaurants and gave us a great overview of Rome while we were sipping on our welcoming specialty drink made by Marco. Serena shared her favorite places to SHOP near the hotel. The breakfast was yummy and it was fresh the coffee was amazing made fresh. We Loved the location and the fact that American Embasy is across the street, Police station is located on the same block also supermarket right next door. Thanks Marco and Serena!!!!!!!!

We spent four nights here and loved it.

It was very obvious from the website that this is a small boutique hotel that caters specifically to guests who like original and inviting accommodation when traveling.

The location is very good and is a short walk from a metro station. Our taxi overcharged us dramatically as it was not a metered taxi, recommend all travllers use metered taxis only - would have only been 10 euros from the train station with a metered taxi.

The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The decor is modern and quite funky. The breakfasts are European/continental and we always had more food than we could finish.

Overall the thing that makes this hotel worthy of it's trip advisor rating is the outstanding and attentive service provided, we never wanted for anything and always felt welcome and comfortable.

Marco and Serena went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our time in Rome, including recommending excellent restaurants and making the bookings for us.

Thanks again guys, see you next time we are in Rome.

The best 2 days ever.Marco & Serena are the greatest host. We were at home at all times. They gave us mumbers to call if we needed them after hours they lived just blocks away,we never needed anything. We could never eat all the food offered at breafast it was so much food.and it was fresh ,the coffee selection was amazing they made everything fresh. They made all our reservations for Dinner we ate at Risterante Pierluigi for dinner and We felt that because Marco made the reservation for us we were seated in there best location, service and the food is 12 stars. They arranged all our transfers from the airport to DEKO, from DEKO to the port and the price quoted was the cheapest ,everything was great ,the Drivers were on time and great drivers. When we had a question about the room description MARCO took care of us no questions asked great customer service. We will always stay there whenever we caome to Rome. We loved the fact that the American Embasy is across the street. Police station is located on the same block also supermarket right next door. We felt very safe and secure. Walking distance to a lot of attractions. The room was very modern and comfortable.
