“Breathtaking view worth the climb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

We were told about this view by 2 very helpful Carabinieri (akin to state police)....it was a wonderful tip. To get there, we had to walk up a very steep street (almost as vertical as San Fran's Lomard St) and then a long flight of steps. But, my oh my, was it worth it! The view goes on for miles and you can take in virtually all of Rome. Just stunning!

“A cheap way to see two faces of Rome at night, and a review of what you've seen at daytime”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

Christian Rome and secular Rome -- in a matter of meters, grasp two melded faces of Rome -- on one side, you will see Christianity's ultimate symbols that have spoken for 2000 years -- the well lighted dome of St Peter's Basilica, with a Jewish synagogue in the foreground. As you walk to the other side -- where the hero Garibaldi and his horse are looking -- you will see the Vittorio Emmanuele monument, the Quirinale, a bit of the Colosseo, the Palatine Hill, Piazza Navona, etc. the ancient and modern secular city of Rome...two faces that emerge as the sun sets. A great way to review what you have seen during the days you spent walking all over Rome!

“Best view of Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

Rome is a stunningly beautiful and interesting city. And in my onion there is no better place from which to admire its beauty than from the Gianicolo. While there, don't miss the equestrian statutes of Garabaldi and his wife Anita.

“Brilliant views and an escape from the crowds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

This is the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and breathe in the panoramic views of the city. The distant snow clad mountains make a perfect backdrop.

“Why not just start here on your journey. It is a fabulous view!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

I like the idea of starting here because you can see before you the history at large. The view is spectacular and you will stand and stare in wonder and awe of this fabulous city with so much to offer. If you like to walk, you can walk anywhere in Rome. Start at the top and meander your way around this fabulous history. But the more you know about Rome the more you will enjoy the sites. Even the graffiti has history here so don't be put off by it because it is everywhere. Enjoy. Buon viaggio.
