“Great Hotel”
Reviewed September 18, 2008

This was our first trip to Rome and our stay at the Hotel Campo De Fiori was very nice. It was a great location, close to local transportation too. Our room was not large but very comfortable and certainly big enough for the two of us. The bathroom was average size and very clean. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace in the evening to watch the sun set or enjoy a cocktail. The breakfast was good and we could either eat in the inside dining room or outside with a view.

Every morning in the square around the corner was a farmer's market which was fun with lots of good fruits and vegetables.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks to all of them and especially Olga who was the best ever.

We will definitely stay here again next time we're in Rome.

This is my ninth stay in Rome as a tourist and over the last 10 years, each time we stayed in different accommodation. Based on the central location and the friendliness of the staff this was my best stay ever. Yes our superior room was pretty small but had all modern amenities and was very well isolated what is key for this neighbourhood. And the cherry on the cake is of course the roof terrace overlooking Saint Peters to the Pantheon. Dear Olga, Angelo and Matteo, we come back ! Lien and Jan

The hotel is located next to the Campo Di Fiori square which is great for eaitng out or going for a quiet drink.

Its also slap bang in the middle of the city, all major attractions are within walking distance.

The staff were very good, and the roof terrace is great for watching the sun go down over picturesque Rome.

The breakfast was basic, but very edible. Great hotel if you're visiting Rome for a couple of days and want to be close to the stuff you want to see.

Very centrally located hotel with friendly staff. The whole hotel has been recently refurbished to a high standard - lots of old world charm with a modern finish. There is a roof terrace with superb views, the continental breakfast was very good. We really couldn't fault this hotel and found it excellent value for money. If we were to return to Rome, and we did throw coins in the trevi! then this would be our hotel of choice again.

Thank you very much for your hospitality while we stayed with you during Aug 1 - 4, 2008. My wiffe and I were extremely pleased with the hospitable staff, general cleanliness, quiet rooms, delicious breakfast and all. The overall experience at your hotel was very good and this made Rome even better for us.

We would look forward to coming back to Rome to stay in the Hotel Campo de' Fiori.

Thank you.

Lovely hotel - very camp and gilted.

Small rooms but big enough. Our room had a balcony (a superior room) which was great. It also has a roof terrace.

Very noisy though as its just off the Campo di Fiori but great if you want to go out.

Staff were very helpful and nice. All spoke excellent English.

The hotel is a lovely gem of a building, recently renovated I believe. The decor shows so much attention to detail as well as creating a superb atmosphere in general. We stayed in room 603, which requires you to climb one flight of stairs after you get off the elevator on the 5th floor. But even this stairwell is lovely and contributes to the feeling that you are staying in a building with history, not a commercial hotel. Our room was small, not uncommon in Europe, but beautifully decorated...a jewel box. The bed was comfy, the drapes allow total darkness for a sleep in or a late afternoon snooze. The elegant bathroom is worth requesting this room ..the roomy shower includes a terrific "rain" overhead as well as a handheld spray. A particularly nice touch is the flat screen TV mounted on the wall in a heavy gilt frame!!
The highlight, shared by all, is the fabulous roof terrace, with it's 360 degree view of Rome. (the Vatican is visible) It has 3 levels, 2 of which are smaller and feel quite private. Morning coffee, 5 o'clock wine, evening to watch the lights of Rome....this spectacular feature alone sets the hotel apart. You can peer down into the Campo and be serenaded by a haunting solo saxophonist who is joined regularly by the pealing of church bells chiming in from all sides.
Even the breakfast room is beautifully done and is staffed by a friendly efficient lady who is prompt with a great pot of coffee as soon as you arrive. The fare is definitely Continental, but has a nice variety including freshly baked goods.
The location is central and a perfect starting point to head off for a walk in any direction. The hotel is just OFF the Campo so there is no noise problem, but close enough to all of the great wine bars and restaurants to make it feel like it's your own neighborhood.
The staff are terrific...friendly, helpful, efficient. From the time we started our online booking inquiries to the moment we checked out things were handled smoothly and pleasantly. They helped us with booking tickets for a gallery, locating shops I wanted to visit, recommending a great restaurant and finally arranging transport to the airport (the service they use is one of the best I've had...try it!)
We plan to make this our hotel of choice when we visit Rome and are advising our friends and family to go there as well.
Thanks so much to the Campo de Fiori for helping to make our stay such a wonderful experience!! We'll be back.

  • Liked — Location was great and the roof terrace is just unbeatable!
  • Disliked — The ONLY thing would be that ice be made available to guests. It's hot out there!
