My boss recommended this hotel and it certainly lived up to my expectations.

Our room was very luxurious, with a nice decor and bathroom. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

The roof garden was the highlight of the hotel, more so because my boyfriend proposed as the sun was setting!! So we look forward to celebrating our anniversary back at this hotel.

I would recommed this hotel to everyone, one for the location and two for the staff.

We found this hotel through a Time Out city guide and did our research on tripadvisor beforehand. We got there to find a fantastic little hotel off the bustling Campo De' Fiori - a real locals sqaure with a food market and plenty of restaurants and bars.

Not only were the staff friendly and informative - they even took time when it was busy to point out all of the main tourist attractions on a map, which they then gave to us.

The hotel's best feature is a fantastic roof terrace with plenty of comfy seating and great views of the city. You're a short walk from Trastevere for dinner and St Peter's Basilica, along with the shops and other major tourist attractions. The friendly staff even offer to open your wine and provide you with glasses to go and sit on the terrace in the evening.

The hotel decor is rich and flamboyant and even the modest room we had was clean with real boutique touches in the bathroom!

We would reccommend this hotel and this location to anyone!

Hotel Campo de' Fiori is such a lovely, calm oasis with the most helpful and cheerful staff. Our room was beautiful, peaceful and had everything we needed. We have stayed in 5* hotels but this one is best.

It is an excellent and dreamful hotel in a very strategic and marvelous position : in the center of Rome, just few steps from Campo de' Fiori, Pantheon or Navona square...

Finally, and most importantly, I cannot even express how fantastic the hotel staff was-- to arrange for a car to pick us up and take us to the airport, to help to organize our trip to Sorrento.

You can stop your relentless search for the perfect Hotel in Rome right now. This is the one.

Serge

Our first impressions of Rome were a disappointment. As with any large city it can be overwhelming at first and upon our late arrival we were immediately pounced on by unpleasant taxi drivers who assured us their fee would be much the same as the train journey we had planned on taking. They ushered us over to their taxi rank desk who also assured us that they offered a good price. We were tired and anxious to get to the hotel. The whole journey was unpleasant and pushey and we were shortchanged by several Euro and the cab journey was a total rip off. Never go to Rome and accept a lift from the men that wait at the airport exit.

Our entrance into the Hotel Campo d'Fiori however was quite the reverse. A clean and comfortable room, a little on the small side, but very warm and nicely decorated. A modern and more than functional bathroom, in which you could even listen to the radio. The roof terrace offered excellent views over the City. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and smiley at all times and the breakfast and vaulted chamber in which it was served was great.

Rome is not cheap and this hotel was not particularly cheap. However, we managed to get an acceptable deal and it was centrally placed so you could walk everywhere easily...from the Vatican to the Spanish Steps to the Roman areas all made pleasant walking. And of course the Campo d'Fiori itself is a beautiful and lively square.

My favourite area was the ghetto area and Trastavere, both of which were walkable and had a number of lovely restaurants. A bit further out close to Trastavere we had a lovely meal at a restaurant called "Antico Arco".

If I returned to Rome, I would definitely stay at the Hotel Campo d'Fiori again.

The hotel is right in the heart of it all. 5 minute walk to Piazza Navona and then keep walking another 3 min to the Pantheon. in an other direction 3 min to the cat sanctuary, then stroll along to the Victorio de Emanuel (sorry for spelling), the Roman forum, Collesseum. A direct walk from the hotel to the Collesseum is about 20-25 minutes. The spanish steps are about 15 min north, the vatican was about 15 min over the bridge.
The hotel is beside a square that contains a fruit market by day and then the little restaurants open up by night. There are lots of ice cream shops, internet, and little stores in the streets off the square. Its a great atmosphere.
The hotel rooms were fabulously updates and very romantic. the beds were comphy and the bathroom modern. There is a nice size closet, mini fridge and safe. The roof top terrace is great. there are couches and chairs to sit on to admire the views and take in the sun. The hotel staff were all friendly and accomodating. Breakfast is located in another greatly decorated room in the basement and had a good assortment of foods.
We would definatly stay here again in a heart beat.

Not only were the people extra friendly, we actually got a very good deal for the room we got. we stayed at one of the apartments that Hotel Campo De' Fiori own and it was an excellent place right in the heart of Campo. the apartment was very nice i had no problem with it. everything was perfect i was shocked to find out that they had a hard time booking the apartment, if i had known about it i would have just booked it for the entire week but i was at another hotel before campo i am glad i left the first hotel and got to stay at compo de fiori. the people at the front desk were all very nice. i def. recommend it for anyone who is planning on staying a week/weekend or even a couple of days. this is a good place to stay! i guarantee you won't regret it!!!

We had stayed at this hotel in Oct 07 and had some problems. The first regarded taxis to be booked to the airport on our departure. The lady on reception accused us ordering a cab to De Vinci when infact we had asked her to book for Campiano. There was such an issue made about this and she just kept accusing us of being wrong, instead of just ordering an another cab. When another cab eventually arrived yet again (in italian)she went on to tell the driver it was our fault, it was actually getting embaressing at this stage. We also found the staff there to be quite abrupt, but put this down to a language barrier.

There are no facilties in the rooms for tea/coffe etc. so we had takeaway coffees and we assumed it would be OK to have these in our room, yet again this was frowned upon.

However we foolishly booked again to stay here in March as the location of the Hotel is excellent. We will never stay here again. After paying nearly 800 euros for a four night stay we were called to the desk. The same lady who we had the issue with during our previous stay proceeded to tell us that the room we we had been staying in was non smoking. We did smoke in this room as there were ashtrays in the room and no-one had told us otherwise. We then asked why were we not informed it was non smoking and she then said that we could actually smoke in the room but we should have opened the window. We HAD the windows constantly open as the room was unbearably hot and also had a strange smell. We were indeed going to ask reception about this at the beginning of our stay but just thought we would let it go. Yet again this converstaion turned into a major issue were she made us feel like school children and yet again as guests we were shown no respect whatsoever.

The day staff here really need to lighten up abit. They believe they are right no matter what the circumstance. It is such a shame as the hotel is really nice and the location is great, which is why we did not mind paying the extra money. They also really need to have more facilities in the rooms if they are going to frown upon a takeaway coffee being brought to the room. The staff who were working in the evening/night shifts were lovely, and helpful at all times.

If you are a young couple who would like to sample the nightlife in Rome - do not stay here. The should have a curfew at the door as it is honestly like going away and staying with your parents. By the way we are in our early thirties.

We are very sad to have read your trip advisor review. We try to pride ourselves not only on the location and the beauty of the hotel but also on the way our personel treats our clients. Unfortunately, during the period you stayed in our hotel, the owners were not on the premises being away for a funeral which concerned them directly, otherwise they would have intervened directly to make your stay more comfortable and pleasurable. The lady your referring to was under stress being responsible for all that happened in the hotel while the owners were away. When you noticed that something was not up to your expectations you should have asked to talk to the management or you should have told me Matteo. We are very upset of the review because what was described in your review doesn’t coincide with the other reviews we continuosly receive. Like I already stated, we do pride ourselves also on the way we treat our guests. At this point, we cannot do anything to make up for your inconvenience but what we can do is the following, hoping that the next time you decide to come to Rome, you do decide to be our guests once again. To try to make up for any inconvenience you have had in the past, we would like to offer you a dinner in a wine bar near the hotel. Once again, we are very upset about your stay and hope you will give us another possibility to make up on it. Please feel free to contact me for any further explanations.

Best regards,
Matteo
