We were in beautiful Rome in March 2012. We stayed at Locanda al Viminale for 4 days and it was amazing! Carla and Paolo - the owners of this small B and B, could not do enough for us. They made reservations, gave us advise on restaurants, gave terrific directions, and generally provided everything anyone could ask for. Carla prepared a delicious breakfast every morning and brought it to our room. She always had a smile on her face and did everything she possibly could do to fulfill our requests. Carla and Paolo are beautiful people and care so much about their guests...Our room was kept clean clean clean throughout our entire visit! It was a beautiful sunny yellow with the sweetest balcony that had a table and chairs where we ate breakfast every morning. The B and B is centrally located so we could walk to much of what we wanted to see. The train station is a 5 minute walk and it made navigating the rest of Rome very easy. I have no hesitancy in recommending Locanda al Viminale in every way....GO! You will never want to leave.......

This charming little B&B has Fantastic service that in my opinion should put this place on the first page on the trip advisor search list.  The breakfasts are great, fresh croissants, great coffee, yogurt and OJ. The rooms simple and pristine, which I love!  But the best feature of this B&B is the service, the owners, Carla and Paolo, were so sweet and helpful, directing us to great restaurants helping us with train tickets and taxis. This personal connection is why we stay at bed & breakfast and they were the best.

Carla and her husband Paulo were extremely friendly and helpful and did so much to make our stay comfortable. It was the little courtesies that Carla gave that made our stay so pleasant. We had an early start for a tour to Pompeii and we asked Carla for an early breakfast that day so we would have time to walk to our meeting point. Not only did she do this but also got Paulo to drive us to the meeting spot. That was just one example of her generous nature. Our stay was pleasant and we would recommend this lovely B&B.

We were absolutely knocked out with Carla and Paulo's hospitality at this gorgeous b&b. We had room for 3 with balcony over looking piazza. So clean and functional with a brilliant shower and toilet. Beds were so comfortable and the breakfast and coffee excellent. Carlo and Paulo spent lots of time on the phone on our behalf organizing train tickets and directions to our next accommodation. They also offered to drive an old suitcase of our to a charity shop so we didn't have to walk it their. When our credit card wasn't working for on line train tickets, Paulo walked with us to the Termini to make sure we got away safely. We seemed like we were such pains but nothing was a problem for them. Every site is within easy walking distance. You'd be mad not to stay here, cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our family of 5 stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 3 nights. The location is fantastic, just on Via Nazionale. It is in an old building, with a quaint lift, high ceilings, huge windows and doors and the interior was newly decorated. Very spacious living room and bedrooms, with flat screen televisions in each of the rooms and living room. The only negative was the breakfast. As the apartment is not in the same building as Locanda, our breakfast was not freshly made, but a box of pre-packed chocolate croissant, a packet of biscuits, some juice, milk and coffee/tea. After reading much on TA about the amazing breakfasts at Locanda, I was a little disappointed. Carla was really friendly and helpful. If you are staying at the apartment, email Carla in advance and ask her where to meet. We made the mistake of arriving at Locanda in a taxi from the train station. We didn't know that the apartment was not in the same building so we had to walk with our luggage to the apartment, which was about 5 min away.

We stayed at the Locanda for two nights while exploring Rome and had a fantastic experience. The hosts, particularly Carla, were welcoming and friendly, and always went out of their way to help us - from providing their amazing breakfast extra early on one occasion (as we had an early Vatican tour), to being flexible with the check out time.

The room was clean and beautifully decorated, the breakfast, as mentioned, plentiful and delicious, and we had fast wifi. The location was perfect - a short walk to the subway, and centrally located so you could walk to any part of Rome easily.

I would highly recommend this hotel!

We would definitely recommend this to others. Location was fantastic, within walking distance to all the main attractions, and close to some lovely more local (not touristy overpriced) restaurants, of which Carla and Paolo were great at recommending. They couldn't have been more helpful! We especially liked the breakfast brought to our room, which we enjoyed on the balcony. We will be back!
