Description: The pub takes its name from the world renowned Irish National Theatre, which was founded by William Butler Yeats and Lady Gregory.Stage props and costumes from the storerooms of the Abbey Theatre have been used in the decor, giving the pub a very special atmosphere. The six fully air conditioned rooms of the pub are spread over two floors, and a huge range of Irish whiskeys, cocktails and long drinks are on offer, as well as Irish beers on tap including, of course, the famous Guinness. The Abbey Theatre offers irish, italian and international cuisine all day everyday. We are able to show all major sports throughout the pub on 14 TV screens. ( NFL, Premiership, Serie A, Rugby World Cup...). The pub has a happy hour during the daytime, live irish music every week, and free Wi-Fi.The pub also offers private parties or weddings. Our welcoming pub, is considered one of the best in the city and it is laid out in typical Irish style with lots of little rooms linked by narrow corridors.

A good place to watch american football and meet Americans! The beer and food was good too and it's right across from the La Gelateria Frigidarium which has the best gelato!

Traditional Irish pub in the heart of Rome with great drinks, friendly staff, and a good variety of sports. We popped in the pub for a quick drink and to rest our feet from a day of sightseeing. We were able to find a seat by the bar easily.

Finally a traditionally Irish decorated Irish pub!! Great for watching sports too!
The Dublin owner is a pleasure to deal with and although we didn't eat, the food looked lovely!

The good: atmosphere feels truly pub-like, which was great for moments of homesickness. The beer offerings (and whiskey) are good and familiar to Irish, American, or British expats. The service was not bad, and I can easily see myself going again to share a pint or two with friends in the afternoon or evening.

The bad: the food was underwhelming. True, neither of us had the hamburger, which so may recent reviewers have praised, but the cod in my fish and chips was oversalted, and the chips had pretty definitely been frozen (I didn't see that noted on the menu, which I thought was required by Italian law, so perhaps I'm mistaken). The lamb stew was sort of bland looking, and the real disappointment was the "Greek" salad: bagged salad mix with some shredded carrots, a couple of below-average (by the standards of Rome in the late summer) slice of tomato, a couple of chunks of feta, and some canned black olives on top. No cucumbers to be found, even though I recall the menu saying the salad included them.

Called in here for a drink on hubby's birthday and we were immediately made to feel welcome. Staff joined in his celebrations and one drink quickly turned into a full evening. Good value. Tastly food. Irish sports bar - it does exactly what it says on the tin!
