Description: The pub takes its name from the world renowned Irish National Theatre, which was founded by William Butler Yeats and Lady Gregory.Stage props and costumes from the storerooms of the Abbey Theatre have been used in the decor, giving the pub a very special atmosphere. The six fully air conditioned rooms of the pub are spread over two floors, and a huge range of Irish whiskeys, cocktails and long drinks are on offer, as well as Irish beers on tap including, of course, the famous Guinness. The Abbey Theatre offers irish, italian and international cuisine all day everyday. We are able to show all major sports throughout the pub on 14 TV screens. ( NFL, Premiership, Serie A, Rugby World Cup...). The pub has a happy hour during the daytime, live irish music every week, and free Wi-Fi.The pub also offers private parties or weddings. Our welcoming pub, is considered one of the best in the city and it is laid out in typical Irish style with lots of little rooms linked by narrow corridors.

“Abbey Theatre Pub”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

A bit of Ireland in Rome. Guinness is great and so is the friendly staff. They offer a nice mix of irish comfort food and traditional pub grub. Great pub to watch a soccer game and to beat the heat, or party all night!

“Great pub”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

This pub has an 'old school' pub feel about it. They do a great pint of Guinness, great food and all at a reasonable price.. This place has all the promise of a good night out,, well worth a visit.

“Service needs to improve”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Tried this pub a few nights, service needs to improved. Waited for what seemed to be an age for the barman (not the Irish barman) to take my order, when he finished chatting he took my order then proceed to empty the glass washer. Staff serving food where good, but pasta was undercooked. Chicken wings were nice.

“Fun crowd”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Italy vs. England rugby game on when we got there so the place was crazy, young college crowd, had a good time. Very busy and packed, service was ok but we knew it was standing room only there. Had a delicious cheeseburger and fries and beer.

“Where I go for the Craic”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Well, what can I say about the Abbey???

I was welcomed with open arms by Michael, the cheeky lovely Irish barman who was so helpful with directions to sites and mentioned the Irish music they play on Friday evenings.

We returned that evening with such a friendly welcome by the bar staff, Natasha and David, who made us feel like we never left, all with perfect English, definitely made my stay in Rome. The Scottish waitress Sarah provided us with her insight of Rome after having lived there for 3 years, the craic was flowing

I would definitely recommend this establishment
