I know good places where to eat in Trastevere. Being tired, with my parents, we deciedd to stop over at Reginé. Very bad idea. To all tourists in Rome (no Roman goes to places like this): keep away from this place!!

We had awful pizzas, with super high price, in a dirty place (toilette smelly and dirty). If you are tired, just cross viale di trastevere and you will have much better choices. Fort sure.

This place was recommend by a local. I had a pizza with ingredients straight from Naples as my waiter explained. It was excellent. The atmosphere was great. It was really enjoyable for my first night in Rome. It was like 8 euro s for pizza from a wood burning oven and a coke.

We just wanted to have lunch and thought well, you can't do that much wrong to go to a pizzeria in Rome...
The pizzas were okish, but the place was so dirty and the restrooms even worse. I'm happy to have a good stomach.
The waiter was friendly though.

We stumbled onto Regine Roma Trastevere after not being able to find our initial restaurant pick. So glad we did. The food was very good, simple but so tasty! One of our friends is a pretty picky eater and wasn't finding what he wanted on the menu but he described what kind of pasta he wanted and they made it for him. So needless to say we found the service excellent! Finally the value is AMAZING. It was the cheapest dinner of our entire trip but one of our favorites!! Highly recommend!!!

We have eaten in Regine in Trastevere on previous years when visiting Rome but had not quite expected such a drastic change in the restaurant. The restaurant is on the main Viale di Trastevere which previously had felt okay to dine in. However on this most recent visit, being set in the middle of a main thoroughfare, the tables and chairs were now much smaller and in greater numbers, there was no proper atmosphere and perhaps due to where we were located - at the end of a row of tables - we felt rather isolated and vulnerable to any unscrupulous characters that may have passed by.

Before we had been able to select a reasonably priced, good bottle of wine but on this occasion it appeared that the house wine was all that was on offer to us… this house wine was bad, it arrived in a carafe (becoming more uncommon in Italy now) and tasted very much watered down. The waiter was in a hurry to take our order, so not having enough time to look at the menu we ordered two pizzas (which based on our previous visit some years ago had been delicious) but unfortunately the pizza this time round was probably the worst we have ever had in Italy… and we tend to eat in the less touristy areas! All we can say is that our pizza was undercooked and very doughy and did not have very much topping on it – very much the opposite of our last experience in this restaurant which we know serves a thicker style pizza but one that is cooked usually with a great deal more care and attention.

In the middle of our meal the owner had to call the Police for assistance with a more untrustworthy type of street seller who badgered the restaurant customers in a malicious manner. Not a good ending to a very disappointing evening. Thankfully one of very few bad experiences we had this time round when eating out in the Trastevere area of Roma!
