We had booked to stay on 19th until 22nd Sept. When we arrived we were told that they had made a mistake with our booking - we had booked two rooms - they thought we needed one - They said we could stay there in a 4 person room which was not an option so they said they would transfer us to another one of their Hotels in the group. We were moved to the Hotel near the Trevi fountain - one of the rooms they upgraded the second they didn't. To say the hotel room was poor is an understatement and bearing in mind we had booked a four star room at Rinascimento this was probably a two star at best. We made the best of a bad situation and stayed at the Trevi one for the first night and then they transferred us back to Rinascimento for the rest of our stay. The hotel is tiny and like others have said the dining room is really tiny but the food was very good and plentiful. Our room was beautiful and so was the bathroom - they had given us a bottle of wine which was a really nice touch. We found the staff to be polite and helpful. It is well situated and I thought the tiny street it was on was charming. It is a 5 min walk from Piazza Navona and we headed there for the two nights and loved the atmosphere. It was our first visit to Rome and we came away with happy memories. We thought the way they drive over there was incredible - they have a scant regard for traffic lights or crossings and down towards the Spanish steps there seemed to be about 4 way traffic merging in the middle - definitely not a place to drive around but the taxi's were plentiful and cheap - except for the one from the airport when they overcharged us by 30 Euro - make sure when you go out of the airport to get a taxi you use a one with a meter - our return journey cost us just under 50 Euro instead of the 80 Euro charged from the Airport. All in all we had a whale of a time - lovely place to people watch and every bit as wonderful as we thought it would be.
