Four of us spent three nights here recently. As previous reviewers have said the hotel is on the second floor of an old building. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We had two rooms and the twin room was larger. Double room was small and had a step between the bedroom and bathroom which could be dangerous. Location is good - seconds from the metro and the main sites are walkable. Found taxis to be good value. Would stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Cortina for 3 nights this past May while in Rome. Our room, while small, was comfortable and spotless. We had a mini-fridge and access to an outdoor patio area. The bathroom was spacious, though getting in and out of the bathtub might be difficult for older travelers or those with limited mobility. This could've just been the case in our room.

The hotel is located on the 2nd floor of a nice building with a lift. We found the location to be fine. Public transport very close as well as a convenient taxi stand. We were able to walk to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps areas with no problem.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were in town while the Italian Open tennis tournament was going on and the conceriege helped us with getting tickets and getting to the venue. Breakfast was great each morning. An assortment of breads, croissants, pastries, juice, and coffee. All in all, we had a great stay at the Hotel Cortina and would stay there again without hesitation.

Our stay at Hotel Cortina was delightful! The staff was extremely helpful in giving us directions prior to our arrival via email, and after we arrived they went out of their way to help us navigate Rome. They directed us to a nearby parking garage for our rental car, and gave us the most efficient route to drop off the car since Rome has many one way streets and heavily congested traffic. The location was excellent and easy to find and within walking distance of many of the major sights. Breastfast was typical Continental but with a wider selection than is offered in most hotels. They even offered to put something aside for us because we departed before they began serving on our last day there! The room was quiet even though it is on a busy street because of the double-paned windows. Though not large, it was very comfortable for three people. The bathroom was spacious and clean.I would highly recommend this little gem to anyone seeking a comfortable stay in Rome!

What a great place to stay. My husband and I and another couple stayed at Hotel Cortina for 2 nights. We were a bit nervous at first due to it being on a main street (Via Nazionale) but when we walked in to the little walkway off the street, you couldn't believe that such a beautiful hotel was behind the door. You can use the elevator or stairs up to the first floor. The sights and Termini train station are within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and willing to speak english (but they find in a compliment if you at least try and speak Italian). Continental breakfast was superb. Meats, Cheeses, pastries, a typical european breakfast. Their coffee was out of this world. The noise was not a problem, especially with the a/c on. Our friends did however, have a cat meowing outside their window for a little while. Our rooms were small, but very very comfortable. The husband of the other couple is over 6 feet and he was very comfortable in their room. Take a look at the restaurants that they recommend. They are delicious. I would definately stay here again...Ciao!!!

Previous reviews were correct. An outstanding hotel and staff - nothing was too much trouble.
Room was spacious, bathroom spotless, breakfast usual Continental type with plenty of choice.
Although situated on a main street; traffic noise was not noticeable - only the hiss of the air conditioning.
Hotel is 15-20 minutes walk from attractions such as Trefi fountain and Coloseum, a bit uphill on the way back. Metro is 5 mins walk and Main station is 10-15 mins - remember airport train platform is another 10 mins walk from station entrance.
