As part of a group of 10 friends all staying in Rome for the Scotland v Italy rugby match, we chose to stay at the Oxford once more. We've been coming here every two years since 2000 when Italy joined the Six Nations. Scotland struggles for a good result in Rome, but we've never been disappointed by the hotel.
The staff are always friendly and very helpful and entre into the light-hearted spirit of the occasion. Rooms are comfortable and well furnished.
The only reason I've given a 4-rating is the hotel is undergoing some renovation (looking forward to the results in 2 years!) and so some things are a little cramped and the bar is currently closed so a temporary arrangement is in place.

Dear Guest,

we thank you very much indeed for your kind words; we greatly appreciated.

It’s always a pleasure to meet you, and to accommodate you every 2 years; it’s exciting to attend at our Nations that challenge each other, waiting for the final result ( this year Scotland won, but maybe next time Italy will be luckier! We’ll have fun for sure).

Regarding our service we always aspire to the maximum, always trying to improve, and now we’re giving a new style to our Bar.

It’ll be amazing and, in less than a month, it’ll be open!

If you like to go on our website, within this week, you could see the pictures: next time (maybe even before than 2 years) we’ll be happy to offer you a welcome drink or jug of fresh beer at the “Hotel Oxford new bar”.

We look forward to see you soon.

Arrivederci a Roma!

Best regards,
Nicole Brancasi

I have stayed in this hotel just last week with my family. Location is very convenient. Nearest metro is Barbrini (Red Line). When you come out of metro make sure you are facing towards a cafe called Vento 11 but on opposite side and Piazza Barbrini is in your left side. Take a bus 63 from your side going on right side of you and drop at stop called Boncompagni. Hotel is on opposite just 2 minutes walk. You will see red flags of hotel.

Hotel's lift is so small so if you are taking big luggage, it will go in turns. Staff is very friendly, specially breakfast staff is great. In terms of food, they have very good quality food for all times - hot & fresh.

Room I stayed in was very clean. There was locker which was very helpful to keep important belongings which you do not want to carry. We even left jewellery in it and found it safe every night we came back. Don't forget locker number which you choose.

Beds are good size and very comfy. You will find different modes of lights. So if you are on romantic trip, you will get the mood. TV have many channels in major languages. Very spacious wardrobes were available to store much in them.

They fill in your fridge every morning with sparkling water, cans of beer, coca cola cans, water & peanuts. All good quality stuff but when you check out, they charge you for all you have consumed. City Tax on this hotel is 3.00 Euro per person per night.

Toilet was very well designed and extremely clean. No issues with water. Only thing is there firm alarm alert string is in toilet, so, have to be careful not pulling it, unless needed.

There is parking outside the hotel, but its pay and display. Have to ask staff how italian pay & display work. I did not see any warden in three nights stay.

Sunlight directly did not approach in room directly because of tall buildings surrounding but you can get sky in eyes.

There are garbage containers in front of hotel so sunday night and monday morning will be bit noisy. Also buses are but noisy in rome so few buses pass through this road, hence, keep windows shut just in case you are thin sleeper.

Any questions, you can reply @ kqureshie@outlook.com

I am welcome to help further for ROMA.

We had booked an apartment of Oxford Hotel. The apartment was clean and nice, but the humidity level of the rooms were quite high and there was some mold in the ceiling. So our luggage was a bit wet all the time. Other than that, it was very nice and had comfortable beds.

Not a 4* hotel, staff friendly, room clean, breakfast very good choice. The bar wasn't open
And was set up as a makeshift table in reception with only one small sofa as seating
Area - bit odd as no where other than room to chill into evening.
Overall very pleasant stay but not outstanding.

Superb, friendly staff who are always willing to help & offer local advice. Good sized room, huge bed, clean bathroom and lovely shower, very clean and tidy throughout public spaces. Bar and restaurant undergoing a revamp, but that didn't effect availability of drink & food. Breakfast was really tasty and plentiful, breakfast staff really attentive and welcoming.

Hotel well located, near to Spanish steps (10 min walk), Piazza Barberini (10 min walk, & metro access) Colosseo is about a 20-30 min walk as is Vatican.

Excellent value for money, 200per person inc flights through British Airways 3 nights with breakfast made this a superb little break, in one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world!

Room Tip: Quiet hotel, nice part of town, walk a little further to the main attractions and discover little ro...

Bar and Restaurant were being refurbished so can't comment about those. However, room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good and plenty of it, and the staff could not have been more helpful and courteous. There were three of us in our 60's and we found no difficulty walking into the centre though we opted for a cab on the way back (around 10 euros).
Go left out of the hotel and first left again. About 100 metres on the right is a family run restaurant called Brancaleone. Give it a try!!
