“Good, comfortable Hotel, but not quite 4*”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 3 nights and all in all had a good stay. It is a clean, comfortable and well run hotel with very few faults. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs/bacon etc along with cereal, yoghurt pastries etc. The bathrooms and rooms were of a good size and were clean and fresh towels/sheets for beds provided every day. The location is decent, being about 10 mins from the nearest tube station, and about a 15 minute walk to the Trevino Fountain, Spanish Steps and Terminal Train Station.

The only major negative was that the bedrooms was incredibly hot and we couldn't do anything to prevent it from heating up other than keeping the window open.

All in all we had a good value deal and it was well located and provided everything we need so it was an enjoyable stay for us. Not quite a 4*, but certainly a very good 3*.

Would agree with other - more 3* then 4*. Good location - walking distance to many of the sights. Disapointed with room - had booked superior but not allocated - had also booked to stay in one of there sister buildings but just checked into main building without explanation. It did not spoil our stay but will not accept the room we were given if we stayed there again if it was of similar standard.

The above says it all. Hotel Oxford is situated in a classic building. Extremely comfortable beds, lounge and bar, staff were superb, friendly and helpful. Anna and Carlo, making sure that guests were catered for and enjoyed each others company. Breakfast fantastic, never had such a good spread for bed and breakfast. Close to the Metro and bus routes, which makes sightseeing easy.

Just returned from a stay at the Oxford Hotel, it was excellent, rooms were cleaned daily, all staff from the cleaners to the reception were very helpful, breakfast was the best continental I have had, there was plenty of choice eggs and bacon, meats and cheeses, pastries, cereals etc.
Hotel is idealy situated, about a 10-15 min walk to the Metro. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from down the side streets around the hotel.

We stayed in Hotel Oxford in Rome end of January. The Hotel is a decent one and is located about 5/6 minutes walk to the Underground Metro. There is also a bus stop about 3 minutes walk from the hotel
We found the staff friendly. The original room assigned to us was not of satisfactory standard, an once we requested a change, the next day they changed us to the room overlooking the front of the hotel and this room was really good.
It was my birthday whilst we were there, and the Chef prepared a special vegetarian meal for me and also baked a little cake on the house!! This was such a wonderful gesture and really touched us. The full breakfast option has hot and cold items and is sufficient for a good start to the day. There are some lovely cocktails to be had at the bar and reasonably priced. All in all a nice hotel for a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Overlooking the front of the hotel is better.

Stayed with family in triple room. A bit cramped but good bathroom, clean, comfortable. Excellent breakfast - friendly & efficient staff. On a bus route and not far from metro so travelling about is not a problem - but walking is the only way to see Rome anyway really.
I'd rate this a really good 3* but 4* it isn't. Still ,for the price it represents very good value. I'll be staying here again.

Room Tip: Best away from ther main road - refuse collection and busses in the morning can be a bit noisy

Just returned from a lovely few days in the Eternal City. The hotel was excellent with all the facilities needed for a good stay. We had a pleasant room overlooking the street, which could be a little noisy at times with bin-collections, but is in a quiet area so it is mostly fine. The room was bright and well-appointed and kept very clean, as was the whole of the hotel although there are no tea/coffee-making facilities in the room. The situation of the hotel is very good for several of the main attractions in Rome with the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the lovely Villa Borghese park all within walking distance (theTrevi a fairly longish walk though!) Walking towards the centre you pass several restaurants and we found one in particular that was very good, Ciao Bella. We also used the hotel's airport transfers both ways which took a lot of the stress out of this part of the trip. It is also possible to walk to the Termini from where all the tour buses operate and these are a great way to familiarise yourself with the city. Overall a great stay in a lovely hotel.
