“Good value & location”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

This is a good choice for a hotel if you're on a budget and don't want to travel too far for visiting major attractions. The rooms are little old and worn out, but come with basic commodities. Breakfast is nothing special, but keeps you full until lunch time. The staff was friendly and the bar is a nice place to grab a few drinks before going out to eat or a nightcap. Word of warning, the rooms can get very hot during summer and at least the A/C in my room didn't work properly. Fortunately, early June wasn't that hot.

Ok this had a good location but don't expect much in the way of being an updated hotel. Very old and very typical of an old European hotel. We did get WIFI and the cold breakfast was just fine. Would not want to stay any longer than the one night.

Room 310 was perfect for me, at the back of the hotel, away from the street with a double bed, space to unpack and a nice shower.

Staff were great when I asked for an extra hour before checking out, and gave this without charge

Room Tip: Avoid the 01 room i.e. 201 and 301 etc as they are right next to the elevator door

I stayed with my parents for a few nights and the hotel is clean and very well placed in Rome, if you want to walk to all the sights, about 500 meters to both Spanish steps and Fontana di Trevi, for instance. They should win a few points if they bought a bigger toaster, since the 2-at-a-time toaster is to small, but over all, The small elevator made it kind of time-consuming to go to your room when the hotel is full, but hey, time is all we got, especially on holiday=) I´d like to recommend this hotel. I had a room to the street, and it was not disturbing with the traffic, which surprised me a little. Somewhat dated interior in the rooms, but you get what you pay for, no surprice there. Nice and welcoming staff made the stay extra pleasant.

We had problem with our hotel and they sended us to Hotel King, we asked to see the room, it was dark, and didint match the value for the room, when we asked if it is possible to get discound receptionist started laughing, when i asked why is it ao funny she made few replys and we felt mocked. When i politley asked if i could speak with the manager , she started shouting in Italian and throwed us of the hotel. VERY unprofesional staff, poor room quality.Would not recoomend staying there.

We had one of the more spacious rooms....it had everything we needed.....don't expect to open the door and be wowed.....but like I said the room was comfortable and you have your own private bath......besides when in Rome how much time do you really spend in your room...the location of this hotel is AMAZING! And the breakfast they serve every morning is really pretty good and the coffee was good also. If you are not a hotel snob and don't mind stains on the walls then I say go for it...great value and great location

We enjoyed our recent Valentine's getaway to Rome and stayed at the King Hotel. It is very close to the Barberini Metro line and is midway between the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain. We also visited Hard Rock café in Rome which was a few blocks away.

The hotel is several stories with stairs and a small elevator. Our room was actually spacious, but very old, dark and dreary. It was ok, but for the price we paid it was acceptable. The bed was quite comfortable and the free Wi-Fi internet was appreciated. The free breakfast was minimal, but had the basic continental fare. Friendly service. Enjoy Rome! Ciao!
