“A great place to stay!”
Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for two nights and it was perfect for us. It is in a great location with everything in walking distance.
We received a free upgrade and early check in! Everyone was very helpful.
There was no view from the window, but we didn't mind.
I would definitely recommend this place.

I stayed for 7 nights in the hotel artemide in mid December 2012. The hotel is in a great location, very close to the termini station within walkable distance to all sightseeing attractions. The street itself is lovely with lots of shops and a spar supermarket nearby to the hotel which is very useful. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel looks very nice. The rooftop restaurant is beautiful with very tasty food, drinks and very nice waiting staff. Although breakfast was not included in our deal, we paid for it one day and it was great with lots of selections of pastries, fruit and cereal. The only thing is that it is quite pricey per person, however it was very good. The only criticisms were that our bathroom was quite small and sometimes smelled unpleasant and the hair dryer wasn't very good and tended to overheat every few minutes. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel and I would definitely stay again.

If you are looking for a premium hotel that offers it all, look no further than Artemide Hotel. I am an extremely picky traveler and Artemide Hotel exceeded my expectations in cleanliness, quality service, and convenient location (was able to walk to major attractions except Vatican). Top that off with a rooftop restaurant offering the freshest ingredients, a free minibar in the room, and a breakfast buffet with a variety of food choices. Upon check-in we even received a welcoming coupon for a free glass of wine or coffee and a 20% discount coupon for dinner on the rooftop.

Can’t say enough about the service!! The staff at Artemide Hotel truly cares about their guest. MARCO at the front desk was particularly helpful in arranging transportation, tours, and general information about how things work in Rome. VALENTINA in the front office was detrimental in making sure our rooms were what my family needed way before we even arrived. And lastly, we departed the hotel at 5 a.m. for the airport. They had prepared us each a breakfast to go bag.

I cut my stay short at the Artemide as I felt I was in a great Holiday Inn or Best Western in any city. It was so Americanized with absolutely no charm or atmosphere of Rome. They "upgraded" me to a superior room that faced an inner courtyard. I didn't even know it was raining till I came down for breakfast and looked outside. Service was impeccable, but the hotel was ordinary. If you want to feel like you're in Rome, this is not the hotel to stay in.

Room Tip: The rooms really don't have views unless you want to face an avenue full of shops or inner court...

RomeGR, Guest Relations Manager at Hotel Artemide, responded to this review, December 27, 2012
Dear guest,

It is crucial for us to understand our guests’ likes and needs so we can continuously improve our services and performance, therefore we want to thank you for writing a review on our property.
We are sorry to learn that you were somehow let down by your experience at the Hotel Artemide. Although we are struggling to understand what exact expectations you had and where we failed to live up to them, we will try and challenge some of the concepts you put forward on your review.
Hotel Artemide can hardly be compared to a Holiday Inn or a Best Western. Nothing wrong with those chain hotels, is just that is not who we are. We are a relatively small independent hotel, whose service is anything but standard and who likes to treat their guests to little and unexpected extras like a room upgrade, for example. That is what set us apart from other hotels in Rome and our guests’ satisfaction is what, ultimately, puts us on 5th place on TripAdvisor.
We don’t see ourselves as an “Americanized” hotel – again, not that we would have a problem with that – but as an hotel that tries to cater to all tastes and needs, regardless of nationality or cultural background. In fact, we have an international clientele that, literally, comes from the four corners of the world. As a hotel, we care more for offering a diversified range of services that will appeal to all our guests, not focusing on one specific group or nationality. And we are proud to say that, most of the times, we manage to do just so.
As we said earlier, we don’t know what expectations you had about us when you first booked and we are not sure what you mean when you say that if guests want to feel like they are in Rome, then the Artemide is not the hotel for them. Being located within walking distance to all major attractions, in a lively road, surrounded by typical trattorias and lovely independent shops, it cannot get much genuine than this.
As you noted, we offer our guests a choice of rooms facing the internal courtyard or the bustling Via Nazionale. Availability permitting, we always try to match our guests with a room that will better suit their specific needs. We would have advise you to let the reception know about your feelings towards the room that you were upgraded to, we are sure that something could have been arranged that would make you feel more comfortable. However, we can assure our readers that the rooms that face the internal courtyard, apart from being quieter, have natural light throughout the day and one can definitely tell if it’s raining or if the sun is shining, just by looking through the windows.
We would like to thank you again for your review and for your kind words on our staff and service.

I spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel, and from the moment I checked in till I left, the service was impeccable. The prices are competitive and you get more for every dollar you spend. I will be back to Rome and I can say I have found my own home away from home at Artemide.

The Artemide Hotel was our base for a week of exploration in Rome. Staff is accommodating and the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The free mini-bar and bottle of wine were a nice touch. We were in the back of the hotel which gave us a very quiet room, but no view. This was fine with us, though some may prefer the front of the hotel with street view but more noise.
A great value and would recommend to anyone traveling to this amazing city.
