This is an excellent hotel. The food is good and it offers reasonable value for money. We have stayed a week and can not fault the service that we have received. Our room was clean and comfortable and the roof top terrace is an excellent place to dine or sit for a quiet drink. The food is good and reasonably priced. Our only caution would be that the location is a bit out of the way if you are frequenting the Centro Storico most days / evenings to shop, sight see, dine, etc. It is a good 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps where we spent most evenings. There is a Metro station near by which helps, but if you are keen to seen the city on foot, as we were, it is just a little bit out of the way.

Dear Guests,

Thank you very much for writing a review on our Property and sharing your opinion with our future visitors.

Regarding the location of the Hotel, we are sorry to hear that you have found it somewhat uncomfortable for your tour of Rome. Many of our Guests find us very well positioned to reach most parts of the city both on foot and by public transport. Many are actually quite surprised about our closeness to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, and are pleased that even the Colosseum is only a short downhill stride.

Since we understand that not all are practical about Rome, especially when coming for the first time, we have clearly depicted our location on our website adding a map so to make it even easier to understand the distances to certain tourist spots around the city. Furthermore, either before or when at the Hotel, our Front Office staff is always ready to answer all questions and pinpoint on a map all the directions to reach the main monuments of Rome.

We hope that our location has not brought too much disappointment to your stay.

We stayed for 3 nights in August, and it is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff were extremely helpful and always polite. The weather was very hot when we were there and the air conditioning was a welcome relief when we got back to the room. Our room and bathroom were huge and always exceptionally clean, we had a balcony which was fantastic and although on a busy street we were never bothered by noise. The bed was really comfortable and we always slept well. The hotel is in a brilliant location and we could walk to most of the major sights quite easily and although we didn't use it the metro is very close too. Breakfast in the hotel was fantastic with lots of variety and set us up for the day, we never had a problem getting a table even though the hotel was busy, the staff were really lovely too. The free minibar was a really nice touch. The only small niggle was that the minibar and the tea/coffee facilities weren't fully restocked every day, but it certainly didnt impact on our holiday. Overall we had a wonderful stay and so much so we are going back later this year with our parents to stay once again at the Artemide.

Stayed a full week in the second week of August. Regardless of the relentless oppressive heat outside; the aircon kept the room a consistent cool and comfortable temperature. Easy to set, just the temperature one prefers and the entire system is automated and takes care of maintaining the room comfort. The room became a welcome oasis late in the afternoon after a very hot day of site seeing and touring.

The room is spacious enough, as other reviewers mentioned the free mini bar is a real bonus. The free bottle of wine was excellent, we waited until we were back home to sample it. The bed linen is high quality; soft and comfortable. Even though our room was facing the main street and directly beside the marquee we were not disturbed by light or noise; the room darkening drapes seem to block all nuisances out.

Front desk staff were professional and helpful. With good recommendations for restaurants and directions to various venues. Other than the Vatican we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see, and that was a considerable list.

The breakfast room is sumptuous and plentiful. Even though it is buffet self service the friendly and thoughtful "maitre de" persists in making recommendations; fresh raccotta cheese brought in fresh daily, no have cappacino not coffee, and a custom breakfast flan they have specially baked; by the way they were all great recommendations; those are the ones I remember. He was a lot of fun and brought quite the character to the tone of breakfast each day. In his own way he made the start to the day a pleasant and joyful experience.

The roof top restaurant was superb. High quality fresh ingredients, well prepare and presented. We had five meals there, two lunches and three dinners. The selection on the dinner menu is diverse enough for most tastes and the food itself is excellent. The starters, mains and desserts are all of the highest standard. The table service is faultless, even one night when it was extremely busy; which slowed the service (but who cares on holiday on a hot night in Rome); the food arrived hot and fresh to the table. The waiters managed as best they could to maintain the service quality. The wine list is ample and very reasonably priced. It is obvious we were thrilled with the restaurant, we ate there five times.

First night the hotel provided a coupon not only for two aperitifs but another coupon for a discount on a meal at the hotel restaurant. This made the meal an absolute bargain; starter, main and dessert with a bottle of wine, the two free aperitifs, and capaccinos and if I remember correctly there was a chefs complimentary sample appetizer(this could be wrong but I am confidently certain). A wonderful evening. Followed by two additional wonderful evenings.

Small but important detail; laundry was fast and efficient. Housekeeping was super, bed and bath linens changed regularly and bath supplies kept fully stocked throughout the stay. the jacuzzi bath work perfectly ... a real stress reliever.

An abundance of porters to take care of ones needs. The internet stations and wifi kept us in touch with the world back home.

Everything was of the highest standard. We have only the best of memories of our stay and are grateful to the management and staff for maintaining the excellent level of customer service.

Room Tip: Double Superior was our room choice.

My family of four stayed here with another family for four nights. Both families' expectations were exceeded by this hotel.

There are many wonderful perks to this hotel - free wifi; an extremely large breakfast buffet with pastries, eggs, sausage, deli meats and cheeses, fruit, yogurt and more; a complimentary mini-bar stocked everyday with free drinks and beer; free cookies in your room; and a very helpful, English-speaking staff.

Our room was quite spacious for a European hotel. We had a large queen bed and small seating area with a loveseat, plus an alcove room with a sliding door and full-sized bed and desk for our daughters. The bathroom was large and clean with a good, hot shower. We had a balcony outside our room with a wonderful view of Via Nationale, a broad shopping street. The A/C, thick windows and dark drapes allowed us to sleep peacefully.

The hotel is within walking distance to most sights and is a few blocks away from the metro. In the immediate neighborhood are plenty of shops and restaurants.

Overall, this hotel was a wonderful base for our trip. It is a great value and made our trip to Rome very comfortable. I would stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

Overall, Artemide was a delight to stay in for our 3 nights and I would gladly have stayed longer or go back. First choice in so many ways, it really made our Rome trip as good as it could possibly be.

Location:
The hotel is in the centre of Rome and ideally placed for exploring. Many principal attractions are within  10-20 mins walking including the amazing Il Vittorio at the bottom of the road , plus Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, The Pantheon, Colosseum all minutes away. Plus by walking you get to soak up all the delights of Rome's architecture, shopping and character.
For Vatican trips, we were picked up by coach as one of multiple stops and I would recommend that.

But it's not the busiest street so is perhaps less noisy than some. And if you want bars and restaurants, the street parallel or the area leading off from Il Vittorio are a step away.

Driving/Parking:
Approaching from the north or east is pretty straightforward and uses major roads throughout. GPS will help and certainly we avoided the worst traffic areas despite going wrong on the way in. It was really easy to find our way out from the hotel onto the A-road out too. Surprisingly calm and uneventful!

Parking is available around the corner from the hotel in the private (non-hotel) Europarking which is manned and they park the vehicle for you. Cost was €27 a day which is probably comparable with similar in European capitals - and for us worth it as it added to the convenience, meaning more freedom and time to explore.

ZTL: the hotel is INSIDE the restricted zone found in many Italian tourist destinations, and you can be fined for entering without a permit. But the excellent desk staff registered our car with the authorities within 15 mins of us arriving - even before we'd asked!

Food:
The menu has been newly introduced by two top chefs earlier this year and is just fabulous. In the end we had a full four courses: Italian in style, imaginative, delicious, captivating. Check out the menu online for yourself. It more than lives up to expectations. And this was only two nights after we had an amazing 5-star fine dining evening in Perugia so to be as good as that is praise indeed!

The rooftop restaurant has a large, air-conditioned inside area if that takes your fancy. Or you can sit outside. Views aren't spectacular but include the dome of St Peters in the evening sun. Great ambience, with sofas where you can enjoy aperitifs or liqueurs and study the menu.

Best of all is the staff - relaxed, welcoming, superb service and all with a smile that makes you somehow feel part of the family.

It's also worth mentioning the breakfast which was up to Italy's high standard, served in the ground floor salon buffet style - and the best hotel coffee we had anywhere!

Rooms/lounge areas:
Everywhere is modern, fresh, very clean and well-finished. There are several salon-style season areas off reception which are a comfy place to wait or enjoy a coffee.

Our room was fairly small and so for that only I couldn't give 5 stars. But it's hardly a criticism. The bed was enormous, firm and comfortable. And this was the  only hotel we stayed in that had tea/coffee-making in the room. The room so had a fine bathroom, free safe, and as very clean and comfortable - right down to the little card under the bed saying the maid checks everywhere!

Free wifi:
This was provided with passcodes for each of our three devices. It seemed pretty reliable throughout the hotel and our stay. Unlike other places, it kept us logged in even on standby which was great. In other hotels it could get annoying having to log back in all the time.

Staff:
The staff are the hotel's secret. Each and every one gives out such a warm, friendly welcome and they seem a really friendly 'family' among themselves. We really felt welcomed in by them all - from the moment the bell-hops helped us with bags and parking, everyone on the desk, and the restaurant staff.

Really slick and helpful service. They couldn't do enough for us. It was a special wedding anniversary holiday for us and they were also very generous in that respect too, with complimentary wine on arrival and more.

Could write lots it was so good! Roof top terrace was a great place to relax in the sun or eat a meal in the evening. On the last day we were even treated to some extras from the bar without charge. The taxi driver booked to take us to airport was scary. We had plenty of time but he still went well over the limit racing other drivers.

Best place to start a great honeymoon! Thanks Hotel Artemide!!

We stayed in the Hotel Artemide for the first stop of our honey moon from 20th - 25th August. The hotel staff were very efficient in checking us in and providing a useful map of Rome to help us get our bearings. Our room was great - air con, great bathroom, very clean, comfy bed etc. The hotel left us a bottle of wine and some snacks and a card wishing us a great honeymoon - which was really welcoming. All guests also get a voucher for a welcome drink at the rooftop bar, which is a lovely place to relax - the dinner was also lovely, and the staff very friendly.

The free minibar was great - lovely refreshments after a hot day out in Rome. It was the hottest week of the year when we were there - 38 degrees, so coming back to the coolness and cleanliness of the hotel was fabulous. We have never had a free minibar before - and loved it - it would be great if all hotels did this! ;)

The breakfast included in our rate was also lovely with lots of options to cater for all choices - hot food, continental, fab range of fresh juices etc.

Rome itself is a great city - so much to see and do, and lots of great cafes, bars, restaurants to take a break from fitting in all the sites.

Room Tip: You may not have a view with an inward courtyard facing room, however, this is excellent for those w...
