“Great location”

Being walking distance to the Roman Forum and the Coluseum as well as both metro lines, this hotel was in a perfect location. The breakfast had a lot of diversity and the staff was very helpful. We stayed in one of the rooms in the annex and found the room to be very dark and somewhat noisy at night. There was only one window which overlooked, presumably, a courtyard (although it had an opaque screen making it difficult to tell what exactly we did overlook). We had to shut the window for the purpose of noise containment and not much natural light was permitted in. Also beware that if you do not provide the front desk with your room key in the morning your room will not be made up. We had not been instructed to do this and only after 2 days without having our room made up were we told to do this.

Dear Guest, thank you for your review on tripadvisor.
Sorry for the inconvenience occurred: we usually ask all our customers to return the key at the reception, we apologize if, this time, it did not happen.
Since you have not left your key at reception (for our forgetfulness), and since you stayed in our annex (separated from the main building), the maid thought that your room was occupied, so she did not want to disturb you. That’s why, at the moment of check-in, we always recommend to leave the key at reception: there is always somebody, 24 hours per day. You will avoid the risk of loosing the key and, anyway, the safety of your luggage will be ensured.
The big advantage of a small hotel as the Duca d’Alba is that we are able to recognize personally and individually all our clients. All this ensures, for the security of our guests, that no extraneous delinquent can come into the hotel.
I hope, however, you enjoyed your stay at the Hotel Duca d'Alba and I hope to see you again.

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights during April 2012. The hotel was mostly to expectations with easy access to the Cavour metro station being the biggest plus that made visiting many areas of the city very convenient. The room was probably the smallest i have ever slept in, but it is tolerable if you are not going to be spending much time in your hotel room and the stay is only for a few days. The service from the front desk is pleasant if a bit stand-offish. Everything was clean and functional, and breakfast was of a good standard. Overall a good experience and I would recommend to other travellers seeking convenience with reasonable quality.

This hotel is in a great location, additionally the room was quite nice. The only downside is one of the towels had something gross on it, and even though we requested another towel, they never brought it. We only stayed one night, so that was't a big deal. Another thing I found peculiar is they insisted you leave the key with them when you leave the hotel. After a certain time I just snuck out with the key, it just seems a nuisance. Their excuse was that it was the only key and what if we lost it? Except they say they reprogram the keys, so that doesn't make any sense. The floor plan is very unusual.

Room Tip: I am not sure, we had booked a dependency room, but were upgraded to a different room

My wife and I had a lovely stay in Rome at Hotel Duca D'Alba. Elisa was very helpful with the reservation and confirmation. Our double room was small but well appointed and quiet. The free WiFi was solid. Breakfast was the best of the four hotels we visited on our three week visit to Italy. The location is fantastic - practically requiring you to walk past all of the great sights every day! We would definitely stay here again.

It's a very nice 4 star hotel, very modern rooms, with balcony, nice breakfast..Very close to everything you want to see in Rome, the metro called Cavour station is just a few steps from the hotel..Highly recommended this one if you can afford the price of course but it's a very nice hotel you will not be disappointed..

Fabulous hotel in a perfect location. Excellent rooms with all amenities - good towels, plenty of toiletries - and wonderful breakfast - sausages, scambled eggs and lovely crispy bacon along with fruit salad, cereals, cold meats and cheeses and a huge variety of breads and cakes. The staff were friendly and helpful and made dinner recommendations etc. There was tea/coffee and orange juice available each afternoon free of charge and many places to eat locally. The area felt very safe for two ladies travelling and everything was in walking distance. We took the metro from Termini to Cavour - one stop, one euro and the hotel it less than two minutes walk from the station. Also took the Alitalia bus from the airport to Termini which worked very well. One tip if visiting the Vatican book it online before you leave to save waiting for hours in the queues but only book the entrance fee not a guided tour. You will be better getting an audioguide when you get there so you can take your time going round, rather than the guided tour. We sped through all the museums we really wanted to look at with a guide speaking in broken english then spent an hour in the Raphael rooms before being chucked out into the sistine chapel. We had to go round again to see what we came for. All of Rome was wonderous and we can't wait to go back. Thank you Duca d'Alba for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Room 105 is a twin room with a little outside terrace and very comfortable

A 3 night stay, 25th March to the 28th, at the Duca d'Alba for my family of 4 did not disappoint ! The rooms were ultra clean, fabulous showers, crisp bed linen changed daily , soft and plenty bath towels, double sets of windows that kept street noise out , good air con ......and a fab location where one is able to walk to all major attractions, even the Vatican. The most reasonable restaurants are within the hotel area and all offer good Italian food......just keep to the side streets of this area where real Italians live and work and you will not go wrong. Once on the main streets your final food bill can double!! The hotel location is good because there are independent shops and artisans right next door from chocolate producers to wrought iron welders.....there is a real buzz at night where families meet outside. We felt perfectly safe at all times. The hotel staff were helpful and well organized , from the front desk to the smiling breakfast staff. The breakfast was good with lovely creamy scrambled eggs & crispy streaky bacon, fresh fruit , croissants etc........my only problem was with the croissants which were glazed in sugar!!! A minor dislike. I took advantage of the discount offerred directly booking via the hotel website.....an invoice was given as cash was handed over on the day of arrival. I would certainly stay at the Duca d' Alba again and never hesitate to recommend it. If you want a VERY clean room and bathroom , then this is the hotel for you.

Room Tip: Just contact the hotel via e mail for advice......they are very helpful and understanding. our 2 roo...
