This was our third break in Rome, each time in a 3 star hotel. This time we chose the Lirico, having read the Trip Advisor reviews and were very happy with the outcome. The accommodation was spotless, the service friendly and efficient, the bed was big and comfortable, all enhanced by the charm of Tony and his smiling staff. Breakfast was just as one would hope in this class of hotel. There are no Lounge / Bar facilities, which again is normal.
A few hints - the location is handy for nearby Metro and Bus stops at Piazza della Repubblica. Buy a 3 or 5 day pass which covers trams, buses and metro or a Roma Pass, which includes a few extras. Taxis in Rome are expensive! The hotel is near enough to the Termini train station that you can save on the cost of airport transfer by taking the train from the airport to Termini station ( assuming your suitcase has wheels ! ). Tony recommends one or two local restaurants nearby that are worth visiting.
A very pleasant stay that compared very well with our earlier stays in similar hotels in Rome.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Opera for less street noise.

If staying in Rome, Hotel Lirico could not be more convenient-situated near the Terminii, near all the bus routes and very handy for some lovely restaurants.
We arrived on a Saturday, found the hotel easily and after having walked up the (unimposing) front stairway were happily greeted and booked in efficiently.
Our room was spotless, linen and towelling super, so no complaints.
Breakfast, as you would expect was continental and adequate, coffee was superb.
During our three day stay the staff were great, restaurant recommendations were good and all involved were brilliant.
At first we were concerned by what appeared to be a very rickety lift to upper floors but after a while became a laughing point!!
This is a great place to stay in a great city.

Room Tip: There are no special rooms here--all are good, clean and acceptable.

First the pros: great location, close to everything, decent breakfast, budget friendly.
Cons: very thin walls(if you like a quiet sleep...well that depends whos in the room beside you) left a do not disturb sign on the door, once we returned the room had been cleaned. Then there was a quick knock and the maid just walked in!( we were not appropriately dressed) Complained to one of the staff and he said that the maids don't always understand the signs. Though it's written in 4 different languages! if you need to get to the airport(campino) do not book a car with the hotel they wanted 50 euros, ask for a cab it was 30 euros. Was not impressed at all with this hotel and would not return or recommend it.

Room Tip: Facing the opera house are nice, that's what we had

Dear Guest,
we are sorry that you did not have a good stay with us.
We apologize if the maid came into the room, despite the "do not disturb" sign.
On the taxi to the airport, I would like clarify that the Hotel can provide for a car-service with driver, requested time and pay directly to him.
So it's a different thing than a taxi, and pays fee plus any supplements.
Wishing you a better stay, next time you will return to Rome,
we express best regards.

This lovely hotel is well located, within walking distance to all attractions. Excellent restaurants very close by too. Hotel room was excellent with own air conditioning, very clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast every morning, enough for you to eat to set you up for the day's sightseeing. Staff at this hotel were very friendly, polite and went out of their way to make our stay so lovely and trouble free. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is coming to Rome. We will certainly be back.
Thank you Hotel Lirico

This hotel is very well located close by Termini Train Station and many restaurants , stores, supermarkets and Metro Station where you can go to many tourist attractions in Rome.

As a matter of fact this is our second time we stayed there. This time we had a group of 4 couples and each one had their own big room. At room 210 (our friends were there) you can have a good view from a square outside. Our room was 212 which was big too.

And also they have breakfast included, with many choices of juices, breads and cheeses (yummy!).

The room at "Lirico" was good compared to what we have had, had plenty of room for Rome equivalent
Location was perfect once again for Jose who are using the rail system, it's an easy safe walk straight out of termini to main road turn left about a km down the road
Restaurants in the area are ok, plenty to choose from and as we experienced very good value
The best I found with this hotel was the staff, we had a minor issue which was attended to quickly, Tony the manager was professional and went out of his way to assist, good job Tony!
Would recommend

This b&b is walking distance to many of Romes' attractions. It's clean and there's everything in the room you need to use as a sight seeing base. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Particularly Tony, who recommended us a brilliant restaurant every evening.
