“Avoid like the plague”

The reception staff were unhelpful, rude and needed a personality transplant. I would not recommend this hotel as reception staff really let down this hotel. Breakfast room was chaotic, no electricity one morning and still none the following morning until half way through breakfast. Some guests were offered pots of coffee as machine was out of action, when I asked for hot water All I got was hands thrown in air and muttering and no hot water so no drink with breakfast. Other guests were turned away and told to come back later as they were too busy. Quality of food was poor. Our electronic room keys didn't work on three occasions, no apology just more rudeness. Beds were rock hard.
Stay away from this hotel.

My wife Rosemary and I recently returned from Rome where we stayed 10 days in the Hotel Mondial. Located on the Via Torino, and a short 1 minute walk to the via Nationale and a 5 minute walk to the Piazza Republicca, and Termini station, this hotel has it all! Perfect location, outstanding rooms, modern facilities, free wi-fi, and a staff that is one of the most helpful of any hotel we have stayed in. Valentino and Diego were particularly helpful with anything we asked of them. The breakfast is included in the room price, and although some may complain, we found it to be a substantial offering. Our room to the front of the building was quiet, and clean and plenty big for the 2 of us. Next door to the Hotel is the restaurant Cotto, which we ate at several times (it too was very good!) and was very convenient after you have been out sightseeing all day. I do not know what more you could ask of a hotel. We have stayed in 5 star hotels in Scotland and Ireland, and I would rate this on par with them! Well done, Hotel Mondial, when we return to Rome, we will surely stay here!!

Room Tip: Ask for room 308, it is very nice and plenty big!

Wonderful modern room. An outstanding staff. Friendly extremely helpful. Deigo would be an asset to any organization. The young woman from Poland and the dark haired woman were two of the most pleasant front desk people we have met in many years of travel. All of the staff were so pleasant and helpful, including the dining room staff, the maids we met. The bellmen and, even the bartenders and your van driver, You have done an amazing job in selecting and training your people. In addition our poor attempts to communicate in Italian was pleasantly tolerated, as humerus as it might have been, adding much to our feeling of comfort. You have a first class organization and we would consider staying no where else when we return to Rome

only negative,
Having to leave and return home.

This hotel was not so good before. Now that it is part of the Best Western chain it has all the qualities of a 4-star hotel. The bathrooms are all new and comfortable and the rooms likewise.
The breakfast buffet could offer a little more (e.g. different types of rolls and bread and no coffee from a machine), but it is altogether okay. The front desk staff is young and helpful, and the location across from the opera house is marvellous. I will go there again.

Good hotel but hotel staff and wi-fi were not great

The room was nice. However, I don't feel that the hotel staff was very accommodating. I asked for an extra set of towels and the hotel staff would not accommodate my request. In all my life, I have never stayed at a hotel that would decline to provide a guest with an extra set of towels. If the hotel is so low on towels that they can only provide one set to each room, then they have a real problem.

If you are looking for a hotel with a stable wi-fi connection, this is not the hotel for you. The wi-fi connection was constantly up and down and was never stable. Doing anything on the Internet was quite a challenge.

In addition, several times our room was not cleaned until past 3PM. So when we returned to the hotel to rest after a day of sightseeing, we were unable to relax in our room because we had to wait for the maid to clean the room.

Upon arrival at the hotel (which was quite late due to delayed flights) the staff were out standing in helping to check us in and directing us to a near by restaurant so we could get some dinner. We caught a tube once to get to the Vatican but we soon realised that walking was much more pleasant and everything was quite accessible and there was not a building that wasn't beautiful to look at! The room was quiet large and modern, the king size bed was 2 singles pushed together but none the less was very comfortable. The breakfast wasn't amazing but still appetising and a lot better then some hotels breakfasts. All around we loved Rome and our hotel definitely being were it is made it a trip we wont forget.

Room Tip: Look out for deals online.

Stayed 10 nights in a room with a single bed. Central and convenient location close to Termini, Metro and bus routes, only difficulty arose on two occasions when friends could not enter the street in their vehicles owing to local traffic restrictions. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Basic continental breakfast proved adequate start to each day. Room clean, quiet, with excellent bathroom facilities. Would stay again.

18 months ago stayed in Best Western Universo nearby, which had a larger room.
