We stayed it this very nice hotel when we visited Rome. The hotel is in a great location, easy walk to St Maria Maggiore, St Peter in chains and not that far to the colluseum. If you want you can even walk to the spanish steps. The staff was very accomdating, even when my cousin blew the circuits in his room, they immediately responded. In addition the restaurants in the area were great we had pizza for lunch in a small street cafe right near the church. Also, the roof top bar/lounge has great view.

Literally a few steps from Roma Termini Railway Station (and therefore handy to/from the Leonardo Express to Fiumicino Airport, as well).
An antique roman setting with all (ALL) modern comforts.
Being the highest building in the area, the 10th floor suites are "over the top", by all means!

The Hotel is centrally located within walking distance of most sights. The older gentlemman at the chekin desk was a bit grumpy but all in all the hotle was great. Very clean and well appointed.
Breakfast was good but i felt rushed. lots of tour groups there and the trunover was tremendous.

Upon arriving, we were greeted with courtesy and smiles. "Welcome" Excellent service from everyone! More than kind. I sat in the lobby watched and listened as the front desk answered question after question and they did so with professionalism. They never lost patience with anyone. The room was very clean and our room was tidied before we got back from breakfast. And speaking of breakfast......oh my! What a treat. I wish I had the espresso machine in my kitchen. Perfect each time. Close to everything!

This hotel is just 5 minutes walking distance from the Termini Station. For those who are looking for a nearest hotel with the station, this is the hotel you should stay. Just about 10 minutes walking distance to Coleseum as well. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a Roman's and Italian arts. The hotel lobby is nice and comfortable, the room is clean and classy. The bar is located on the top of this hotel where you can view the Vatican City from here. The open air type of bar is another extra point for this hotel. There are various choice of food for breakfast as well. For muslims, there is an indian muslim food restaurant located just around the corner from this hotel. The concierge staffs are helpful and friendly. The only down-part i would say is that, the staffs at the reception is not so friendly. You need to wait for sometime before they will attend you. Lack of smile (may be they were tired after worked for the whole day i think). But, the good part is they can speak in english. Overall, this hotel reached the level of my expectation and i would stay here again if i have the opportunity to visit Rome in future (hopefully i will, after threw coin at the Trevi Fountain :-))

I was traveling on a reunion tour with a group of people who as children had lived in Italy in the late 50’s/early 60’s. We had a wonderful time traveling through Tuscany and stayed at the Grand Hotel Vittoria & Spa in Montecatini, where we experienced an extremely professional and accommodating staff. We found neither at the Hotel Mediterraneo. I never heard the word “no” more than I did at this hotel. No to asking for change for a large bill, no to metro cards, no to asking if I could settle up my bill the night before since I was departing at 5:30 a.m. in the morning. And before you heard them say no to almost every request, you had to be ignored. Their service (if you could call it that) was to make you stand in front of the front desk, completely ignoring you until they were ready to acknowledge you. If I did find anything positive to say about this hotel, it’s been completely forgotten because of my experience with the front desk staff. Perhaps management should spend some of the money they are overcharging for the rooms to retrain their staff (if they ever were trained in the first place) to learn customer service. I would rather stay on the streets of Rome with the Gypsies than at this hotel – at least you might get a smile from them as they try to rob you.

The Hotel Mediterraneo is a wonderful hotel in a central location in Rome. Beautiful, impressive lobby - very comfortable for relaxing after busy days or gathering with others in our tour group. Friendly front desk staff who were always ready with a smile and helpful advice. Nice size, clean room with a beautiful bathroom. Each room had a safe, fridge & the bathrooms offered all amenities. More than adequate breakfast buffet with a wide variety of food choices. A great way to start the day. Easy walk to the termini train station just a block away & also the hub for taxis to any of the sites. Beautiful Santa Maggiore a short stroll just a block in one direction & touching Santa Maria Basilica a block in the opposite direction. A safe neighborhood to walk at night or anytime with many little cafes & shops, even grocery stores for water, beer, soda, etc. in the immediate area. Quickly learned hotel rooms in Italy do not have clocks but wake-up service was very dependable & bathtubs are actually soaking tubs, much narrower than American but comfortable. A wonderful, clean, friendly hotel to return to after long, exciting days of touring the fabulous sites in Rome. If we ever get to visit Rome again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel.
