I stayed in this hotel last weekend, the staff at reception were extremely helpful, very pleased with the service. Room was clean and comfortable and location of the hotel is great as well. The breakfast was also good.Would stay here again if we visit Rome.

I didn't expect much but this is pretty basic and a staff outing to charm school would not be time wasted! Rooms are functional, hotel layout is bizarre - 2 lifts to reach our rooms, 1 to go to the 2nd floor and then another to drop to the required area of the 1st floor and prices in the bar and restaurant are OTT.

On the plus side, breakfast is served in the rooftop restaurant with great views over the Forum and glimpses of the Coliseum and is more than adequate to set you up for the day. The location is excellent for sightseeing in this part of town and has easy bus and metro links to other attractions. That said, even the likes of Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps are only a 20-minute walk away.

Dear Sir,
We thank you for your review and for the great appeciations.
Our hotel is built in an old convent of the 18th century and the church is between the first and the second floor. Some rooms are on the floor divided by the church and that's why there are 2 lifts to take.

If you like 80s EuroPop music, such as Whitney Houston or George Michael, this is the hotel for you; you can't get away from it, either in the restaurant or in the rooftop bar, so if you're hoping for a quiet meal overlooking the majestic ruins of Rome, look elsewhere. This is a real pity, as the staff are helpful & courteous, and the location is great.

Room Tip: Rooms are small, and some of them overlook a noisy bar opposite (which closes after 2am)

If you don't mind things a little cramped this is fine, but be warned some of the rooms quite small. It is a bit quirky in terms of layout and you may need a map and/or guide to get to your room. Staff are pleasant and rooftop has a great view.

Dear Sir,
The hotel being a very old building of the 18th century, it doesn't have the same dimension of a modern hotel. This its very own characteristic : leaving the the Imperial Rome.

We (family of 4) from Washington State, USA stayed at The Hotel Forum in June 2013 for 3 nights. Front office staff were courteous and helpful. Our family suite was average per USA standards. Located on the 4th floor, it was spacious, quiet, nicely air-conditioned, two nice bathrooms, refrigerator and had a vault for placing valuables. The only negative was the lighting inside the room was not bright even with all the bulbs on. Also, one night the fire alarm went off at 3am. On enquiring the front office staff informed us it was a false alarm and not to worry. It took the electrician an hour to get the noise controlled. Besides this one unpleasant experience, our stay was overall comfortable. The front office staff were very helpful and kind. They called our airline several times to track our unaccompanied luggage until it was delivered to the hotel in 48 hours. Another highlight was a pianist played the grand piano in the reception area on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. The buffet breakfast served on the scenic terrace each morning from 7am to 9.30am was simply outstanding. It exceeded our expectations. The hotel is smack next to the Imperial Forum and we could feel the grandeur of Rome when taking in the spectacular view. It made a great impression on all of us. The hotel is a 5 minute walk (or less) to the Coliseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum. It's about a 20 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. We walked one way and took the taxi on round trip for 8 Euros.
Mind you, this hotel is expensive at 450 Euros per night for a family suite, but to us the overall experience was well worth it. We intend on going back to Rome again in the near future and once again we will stay at the Hotel Forum.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the higher floors (3 or 4) with a view of the Imperial Forum.

If the only thing you are looking for is the location whilst staying in Rome then this is the hotel for you. However if you are looking for more, then you may need to look elsewhere. On arrival we were allocated room 122 which we were told we could only access by using the lift to the second floor and then using another lift to go down to the first floor. We thought this was strange but as we were tired after a long day travelling we went to bed. In the morning we met another guest staying on the same floor who had the same concerns as us regarding what would happen in case of a fire when the windows had metal bars on the outside and there appeared no other way out other than using the lifts. As we had pre booked sightseeing tickets we did not have time to deal with these issues in the morning but we did tell the front desk that the safe in the room did not lock and they promised that they would have the problem dealt with by the time we returned. After 10 hours sightseeing when we returned all we wanted to do was to freshen up and have something to eat. Unfortunately we now found that the safe did not open. Before dealing with this we decided to have a bath but found that the plug was not working properly and we could not empty the bath, meaning that we had to share the same water. We tried to phone down to the front desk but found that there was no information in the room informing us of the extension numbers to use. We were then forced to take two lift 's down to front desk to inform them that the safe was still not working properly, that we could not empty the bath and we could not use the phone as we had no directory. After some time they decided that we needed to change rooms. During this time we queried the safety of having a floor with no access by stairs only to be informed that indeed there was access by stairs but we had not been shown it. In case of a fire/power cut if you are on the first floor you are required to climb up the stairs to the second floor to evacuate the building. Surely this is totally counter-intuitive.
We were so disappointed with our experience that we wrote a letter to the manager expressing our dissatisfaction and left it with the front desk. We did not receive the courtesy of a reply. You would think that any guest who takes the time to write to you whilst staying at your hotel would at least receive a reply whist they were still a guest.
On checking out we found that there was a charge for the use of the mini bar and a telephone call, neither of which we had used. They did, however, remove these charges immediately when we refused to pay them.
It is a shame to write such negative comments as we like to write only positive reviews. We did feel that the staff, however, did their best when trying to deal with the problems and the hotel is in a great location.

When you arrived in hotel on the 16th of July it has been assigned the room 122 situated just in front of a big stair to go to other floors.
The safe in the room has been immediately checked after your request and it resulted ok.
Regarding the bathtub we weren’t certainly aware of the problem because before giving the rooms the housekeeper checks the rooms.
Probably there has been a problem this day.
The phone numbers to call all the different departments of the hotel are on the phone itself.
As we have seen that you were not happy with the accommodation, on the day after your arrival we have provided, with your agreement, to change the room.
We are really sorry that you were not satisfied because either the management and the staff are always at disposal to make the stay of the guests as comfortable as possible.

This hotel really should update its website. Whilst it could hardly advertise that is has rooms like cupboards under stairs, they should indicate that there are very small rooms that single travellers get dumped in. Check in, after a very long flight was quick, staff very pleasant and efficient. When shown my room I thought, "how nice a little ante-room with a couch and desk." Was quite shocked to find that that was the room. The window opened onto an smallish gap between the church next door and the hotel. There were pipes running down the wall outside the window. The sound of water rushing down the pipes was annoying. Bathroom not bad. I asked for another room but they said they were full. I travel a lot, and have had lots of small rooms round Europe, and in Rome, but never one like this. If you are a solo traveller, make sure when you book that you don't get a cupboard under the stairs masquerading as a room.
The hotel is in a fantastic position. The staff were very courteous, friendly and professional. The rooftop bar is wonderful. Having a drink, watching the sun go down over the Forum is magic. The barman was terrific, and remembered what I had ordered each night.
I was happy with the breakfasts and the great service from the staff. Views from the breakfast area also fabulous. Wonderful start to the day to look out over the forum whilst having breakfast.
I could not get wifi in the cupboard under the stairs, but it worked downstairs most of the time. It was adequate for my needs, and the various seating areas were very pleasant.
Would I stay here again. Yes, provided I could be guaranteed a roof with a view of the forum. Quite happy to pay whatever the additional cost may be.

Room Tip: Be very specific about the room when booking. A solo traveller should make sure that they are not g...

Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your good appreciations about the hotel and we are sorry to read that you were not happy with your room.
We usually give double rooms for single use also for guests who have booked single rooms (that are smaller) but it's not possible when the hotel is fully booked.
We are happy to read that you enjoyed all the services and we hope to have you back at the Hotel Forum and have the possibility to show you one of our great rooms with view on the Imperial Forum.
