“Nice hotel”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

We spent a week at this hotel for the first part of our Italy trip. The hotel is on the outskirts of the park and not in walking distance to the centre of Rome. However, bus 52 is just outside the door and will take you straight to the centre. It's about a 20 minute or so bus ride. Tip: you need to buy your bus ticket at the Tabacco shop up the street before you can get on the bus! The hotel was extremely clean and the rooms were very nice and clean as well. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was always clean and staff very helpful. Breakfast was included so even though the same food offered everyday it was still nice!

Stayed at the Best Western Rivoli in Rome for 3 nights in July - one adult and 2 teenage kids. The room was clean and pleasant enough but the fold out cot was not very comfortable and very narrow.

The air conditioner barely worked and was very noisy.

The clock radio in the room was set to go off at midnight with a horrible buzzing sound. The alarm could not be turned off, nor could the radio be unplugged as it was hardwired into the wall. Had to change the alarm time to the middle of the day when it wouldn't disturb us.

The room telephone did not work well - several times I was unable to receive incoming calls - the phone did not ring. Staff were told about this but did nothing to resolve it.

The included breakfast was adequate, good variety of items, but the service in the dining room was practically nonexistent - it was a bit of a struggle to get an espresso - it seems that they are understaffed.

The in-room internet connection worked well.

The bathroom was clean and in good condition and well-stocked.

The room had a large balcony with a table and chairs - nice for sitting at in the evening.

The staff was friendly and courteous and were helpful in giving information about how to get around and giving directions.

Location was far from attractions but the neighborhood was pleasant and quiet and it was easy to get to the sights by transit, although it wasn't always as easy to get back.

For the price, it was adequate. 107e per night + 15e tax.

I was booked into this hotel by an agency for a conference. It advertised free internet access, but it didn't work. In fact, they depend on a free service and have no wi fi account. The air conditioning in the basement room did not work, just put out air and very noisely. We moved to the fourth floor where the air conditioner worked, but without double paned windows the heat from outside made the bathroom a sauna and the room could only cool down if the shutters were completely shut, making the room totaly dark. Another patron complained about the dirty carpets and I also had the experience of dark chewing gum that go on my feet and shoes. Limited breakfast, but decent cappucino. Not well run hotel. I stayed earlier at another hotel, less expensive and much more luxurious, with good internet an good air-conditioning .There are many other hotels in the area, I do not recommend this one.

We stayed at The Best Western Rivoli, Rome while visiting Italy in August 2011. As the title indicates , it indeed is great bargain. Tastefully decorated Rooms, Well eqipped bathrooms, Detailed Corridors, Lazy Outdoor Terrace Lounge, beautifully furnished lobby or the cozy dining room , everything was spic and span, and all for the price so reasonable. The lift was a huge disappointment, It can accommodate only ONE human being at a time. I being slightly claustrophobic had to resort to the staircase even though our room was on the top floor, but everything else was so good that it compensated for the lift. The room we stayed in was a fusion of ethnic and modern taste, considering the weather in August airconditioning was perfect and comparing to all other hotels we stayed in Italy, Best Western Rivoli had by far the best Wi Fi Connectivity !!! And not only WiFi, it served the best breakfast as well. As for the location of the hotel, its slightly far from the City Center but well connected. The hotel is in a lane and just 20mtrs from the main road(Viale Bruno Buozzi). Across the main road is the bus stop that drops you almost anywhere in the city center and and back to the hotel and the buses run till midnight. Take line 52 from Viale Bruno Buozzi , it runs every 15min. To get back to the hotel you can get the bus from Via del Tritone, which is walking distance from the Trevi Fountain.

The staff was fantastic, the rooms beautiful, and the location splendid. I am familiar with Rome, having lived there, and Parioli is one of the premier residential areas of the city so I was impressed that there was a hotel there and that the prices were as reasonable as they were. I have stayed near Fiumicino airport, out in a boutique hotel near Frascati and one near the Spanish Steps and this by far has been my favorite. Also, after having just been in hotels in Paris, it was lovely to be in a hotel where they still make beds properly (use top sheets rather than comforters). I did not have a car on this trip, but the parking rate offered by the hotel was reasonable for Rome - I hope to stay there on my next trip.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 4th floor have a wonderful, large terrace but you have to go up a short flight of stair...

This hotel is a lovely gem with very pleasant amenities, friendly desk clerks, and several major bus routes running nearby. The rooms are very elegantly decorated, and fairly large by European standards. The breakfast (included) is one of the better buffets I've seen, including hot food like eggs and bacon, as well as standard continental fare. The lift is small, but very functional and can easily fit one person with large luggage. (A couple will likely need to make two trips) Now, here's the BUT...The a/c was never able to cool the room below 78 degrees F, a bit uncomfortable for sleeping.
